PSP iso files that are downloaded all over the net.

CAGiversary!
I am not asking where to find them or how to run them. I just have 2 questions regarding the isos.

1) A game like Tekken: DR is 800 mb to download but I hear the full game is 1.7 gigs. In this case, did they just compress or did they take crap out like FMV.

2) Are most iso rips full versions or is crap taken out to make it smaller?

Not always do things get taken out. Often they are just super compressed. These ISO's are all I play, I have only ever paid for two games and they were got on the day the PSP launched. Since then I DL all my games.

Do they work as if you bought the real game?

Hmm... interesting... I'm waiting for SanDisk to send me a new 2GB memory card because the last one stopped working for no reason. Maybe I'll look into this for some games I want to try but don't want to spend $40 on.

You have other options than stealing.

It takes days to send a game back and then have it mailed to you from gamefly unless you live in the west coast. Instead of going through all of that he might as well DL the game. And if he likes it, drop the $30-40 on it.

Plus, last I checked gamefly isn't free. ;)

I have no problem dropping $30-$40 on a game I like even after I've downloaded it. I just don't want to spend the money on something that I may or may not like... they need to start packaging demo discs with OPM or something... I've bought a ton of PS2 games I never would have had I not played the demo.

Well, I guess I can either work for money or I can just find a group of little kids and steal their money since I won't have to go through all of the effort and extra time.

I know that downloading a game to try it out doesn't really hurt the company, but BREVITY downloading all of his games and not buying a single one since launch is fucking idiotic. As long as you plan to buy the games that you like (which seems unlikely since you've already been dishonest after you've done the illegal part and the work of downloading it) then it's fine.

Ahhh but you are forgetting one thing - when you steal that kid's money he is left with nothing but when you DL something you are not taking anything from anyone except a potential lost sale which would never happen anyway (or at least without trying the game first).

Just playing devil's advocate... I'm not sure where I stand on downloading stuff... it's kind of a morally gray area for me...

I know that it doesn't hurt them if you're definitely not going to buy it before you download it, but the chances of you buying a game that you enjoyed after it's already there for free is very unlikely. It's not like the person downloading feels bad after enjoying a game for free and will then go buy it. He already ripped the game makers or BlockBuster/Gamefly off by not renting or buying the game legally.
