Sing It and Singstar compatibility

Fairly new to PS3 world, so I apologize if this question has been answered: if you buy a Sing It microphone, can you use it on a Singstar game?
 
A Sing It mic will NOT work on SingStar. SingStar requires a USB converter to convert two mics into one USB slot. SingStar was built to use this since the PS2 years. A SingStar mic will work on Sing It games though.
