Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 PSP Load Times

I watched it, its kind of skewed, since he's skipping all the story scenes which most people would usually watch, which makes the load time look extreme.

To be fair, the load times for Playstation 2 were pretty awful as well, THQ just does a crappy job with that.

GTA has loading times of maybe 5 seconds, so its definately not the system, just shitty coding.

We covered the loading times in the threads, some said it wasn't too long, some said it was unbearable, but thanks to this video, I can actually see the load times since I don't have a PSP.. and wow, if I paid more than $10 for that, i'd have returned it - that's INSANE.

Haha, he chose Big Show.

I think of Pee-Wee's line at the end of his movie: "I don't need to see the end, Dottie...I lived it."

If the point of the video was to show off how long everything is (by starting season mode, which has multiple cutscenes and nonmatch segments), why did the person recording not let each video run? It could have been 10 minutes *easy* by then! I understand that their emphasis was on load times, but there are fewer load times when starting up a regular match; they're still horrible, but not 6:30 horrible.

I'll be honest: buying SvR2006 for my PSP was one of the best purchases I made for that system. Not because I like it; not in the slightest, no siree bub. Because spending $30 on that made me realize that I must be very skeptical with *EVERY AND ANY* PSP title I purchase from now on. I will never buy a title on release day, I will never buy something without reading about the load times on it. A GS employee was lamenting to me the other day about the load times on Midnight Club 3 for PSP (which I've not tried), and that just reified my decision.

Now I'm a more particular customer, thanks to the piece of shit known as WWE PSP. I don't know if it's worse to have load times that put me to sleep (I'm not kidding) the first time I played it, or if I'd rather have a buggy piece of junk like Madden PSP.

That video ruined the song "Yakkity Sax" for me for at least a month.
i still want the game in my collection.. unfortunately it requires 2.5 fw so i decided not to jump on it
Give it another week, firmware protection has been broken.

you can still play it on a memory stick with the GTA trick with 2.0.

As for the new loader, you have to patch each iso individually, and they havent gotten this game to work.

seriously, it's not that bad. Turn off entrances and don't use CAWs and voila, greatest PSP game to date. I've played far more of the PSP version, then I have the PS2 version.

I'll probably still get it but that looks pretty bad, though I think he purposefully extended the loading times by going to the new season mode then skipping the cinematics.

Im sure turning off CAWs defeats the purpose of playing the game for most people.

Well, then they should just suffer through the 2 min loading screens, or better yet, not play the game at all.

Like I said, for something the scope of SD!vsRaw06 portable you have to have some sort of drawback. Personally I can stand 2-3 mins of loading if the end result is having a portable version of the best wrestling title out (IMO).
