So I went to the Manhattan Mall here in NYC today, and they opened a new clothing store here recently called Steve and Barry's. At first, I thought it was a store for gay men, but when I went in, I saw that everything in the store was $10 or less. A lot of their products are just hoodies with the school's name embroidered on them, but they had a lot of other stuff too, like polos, jeans, sweaters, etc.

And here's the kicker: everything was of good quality. They didn't feel too thin or flimsy like a lot of trendy or cheap clothes you buy elsewhere.

The store's mostly sportswear as the name implies, but they had a lot of funny T-shirts too; one said "I don't need an encyclopedia, my wife knows-it-all" and another had a picture of a golf course with "I hit two good balls today. I stepped on a rake."

They have stores in most states. You can find the nearest store on their site: http://www.steveandbarrys.com/flash.html

Hell yeah for Steve and Barry's! I got one in my area a couple years ago. As far as I am concerned, it is the one stop clothing shop for college students. You simply cannot beat the prices.

We just got one in the milford, ct mall and there is another one in trumbull. It seems like the men's stuff may be of a bit higher quality than the women's, though. Most of the women's stuff looks like it came from one of the other mall stores that sells cheap clothing geared mainly towards teenagers.
Yea I like them. In the summer everything was 5.98 or less. They have cool, funny T-Shirts also.
yeah, my gf and i went there this past summer when they opened up in Baltimore...everything was $5.98 or less...i bought a down jacket that i wear for work and a nice hoodie..she bought a couple of shirts...great deals

I wouldn't go there for legit NCAA-approved clothing. Half the stuff isn't approved and has fake NCAA holograms on it. It's cheap for a reason.

Yea, but when your spending $5-$10 Bucks on stuff how can you complain. Legit NCAA Hoodies will run you about $40-$50 in my area. Can't beat good prices.

Cheap crap is still crap.

i got 3 Ohio state Jerseys from them 4 years ago. home, away and an alternate People ask where I got it from all the time. Good quality stuff. Still in great shape no rips no strings hanging off I would reccomend the store to anybody.

That place sucks. All their stuff is crap, the quality of their clothes is so bad. I'd rather just spend an extra $10 at old navy and buy shit I'd actually wear, and stay comfortable. None of their stuff is comfortable.

Yeah they are cheap ass all right. Got a fake leather UW-Badger jacket awhile back for $7.98. An identical jacket with the Green Bay Packer logos on it costs $80 at the 'Milwaukee Brewers Clubhouse Store' which is overpriced but still.

yeah there has been one in cincinnati for a while, the only advise is be in and out in the winter time. all the fake leather jackets will kill you if you stay in there to long

It's all 100% authentic NCAA licensed merchandise. It's also very high quality. I bought a jacket and hoody when I was at the one in Maryland. There are stores all over. It'a totally legit. It's cheaper because it's all and I mean ALL, Steve and Barry brand. No name brands at all. They make all the stuff themselves so they keep the prices down. The one is Orlando has everything $9.98. The one I went to in Maryland, was having a sale and the entire store was $4.98. That one had lots of stuff from MD, NC, WV, VA, and SC colleges. The UNC clothing was very nice. THey also had a nice selection of other popular colleges like UCONN and Notre Dame.
Little story...
The reason I know all this is because I went into the store in Orlando looking for UCF merch. They had NONE. They had plenty of FSU, UF, and UM, but no UCF. I talked to the manager. He said some colleges license their logo to them, but not for sale in the immediate region. For instance, in the CT store you can't get UCONN stuff, because there are territory restrictions on which stores can carry UCONN merch. It's the same with UCF. The university would not let S&B sell UCF merch in Orlando because there are certain stores that carry it and they are exclusive to the Orlando area. Imagine in CT if you could get a UCONN jacket for $5 at S&B, the other stores on campus would go out of business.

You are so used to paying $100 for a jacket by Nike that you start to think that's how much it should cost, but realistically those things cost $2 to make in SIngapore. It's the same with shoes, then cost $2 to make then Nike charges $110 in foot locker. It's all marketing hype. Don't fall for it.

Not true. I know most of the UGA stuff they sell is not authorized.

As for the Nike arguement, most of it is true but not all. Shox=worth it. Jordans=not.

Me loves there cheap hoodies, I got a UK and UNC one for Xmas like 2 years ago and it's still going strong. I have been wanting to go back but it's kinda a hassle to get up there, I wish they would open up in a mall closer to me.

the quality is Great, i bought a few pairs of jeans there 2 years ago and they hold up much better then levis etc. There is one in elyria, ohio at the mall.
