I was just wondering what Target's return policy on their video game hardware was? I bought a PSPgo a little over a month ago, and I haven't played it barely if any since I bought it. Anyways I was wondering if I would still be able to return it? I don't really want to go through the hassle of selling it, IF I can just return it to the store for a refund.

I looked on their website and it says as long as I have a receipt and it's dated within 90 days I could return it. I don't shop at Target all that much, so incidentally I've never really made any returns/exchanges at Target.

I don't think you read all of it, sir.

A receipt dated within 90 days is required for all returns and exchanges.

All returns and exchanges must be new, unused, and contain all original packaging and accessories. A form of personal identification may be required. Some items cannot be returned if opened and may only be exchangeable, including music, movies, video games, software and collectibles. Other restrictions may apply.

Not sure about hardware.

Although unopened video games can be returned within 90 days of purchase.

YMMV:

I exchanged a PSP 3000 yesterday to Target (bought on 2/14/11) as it had a line running through the hardware. They inspected what was inside the opened box for all the documentation, hardware, etc., and took it back without a hitch. I received a new PSP and the difference ( there is a sale on them right now).

Don't know if they had Gos though.

Yeah they'll exchange defective items. But they might not take back an opened system for a return.

Kind of unrelated but I once bought a console at Target and tried to return it unopened later. They gave me BS about the serial number not being correct and wouldn't take it back, wth. I guess the serial number is recorded when you purchase it, but I was returning the same console I bought...

So I personally avoid buying consoles at Target now.

Most stores would record the serial number of a console at the time of sale. This is to prevent return fraud in which people would buy a new console and return their broken one.

Not sure about handhelds but I imagine they would do the same for their own protection.

Yeah well the system apparently doesn't work or at least it didn't when I tried to return a console and they claimed it didn't match up.

They told me that I could bring it back, but the most they would do would be to exchange it for another item (since they've had no PSPgos in stock for quite awhile).
