Transferring game saves from PS3 hard drive to PS1 and PS2 memory cards

After picking up the PS3 memory card adapter I plugged it in last night and the only option it gave me was transfer all data from the PS1 or PS2 memory card to the PS3 Hard drive. Also the instructions indicated it was only for transferring game saves from the PS1 and PS2 memory cards to the hard drive. Well I still have my PS2 downstairs and a PSone with a screen for on the go play. Is there any way I can transfer the save from the PS3 back to the memory card if I want to continue my game on my older systems? Would it be possible to move the save from the PS3 hard drive to a memory stick, from the memory stick to a home P.C. and then use a Dex Drive to transfer it back to the memory card? Also are the PS1 game saves compatible with the emulated PS1 games on the PSP when you use Dark Alex custom firmware? I am looking for the greatest flexibility in moving my saves around among my 4 Sony systems.

As far as I know, it's a one-way process only, although you would think that there would be a way to use a PC adapter as you describe. The problem is that I think it would require some sort of conversion process.

Edit: Ashram seems to have found the process, but that looks like way too much work.

well, i tried it out, and it does work... i have to do it a little differently though, due to the fact that i use the OLD xport/sharkport usb cable.

did it with god of war.
