GS offer me 100 bucks for the PS2, AV cable, Dual shock, and the power cable. I lost the AV cable, but that can replace once I buy one off ebay. However, I told him if the Void sticker are cutted, will he buy it? Sadly, the clerk don't know what sticker I'm talking about. He said all I need to do is give them the PS2, AV, controller and power cable.

Anyone here successfully sold their PS2 to those game store even if the sticker are cutted? Thankz

At EB we're told not to take them back for full value if it appears that the system has been tampered with. We would still accept the system, but only at the "broken system" price. Don't know if Gamestop is the same, but if you find an employee who doesn't even notice it, congrats.

awww man. I heard that a broken value is only 30 bucks or so. I opened my PS2 just to clean the dust off for the first time couple months ago. =(

yeah 100 bucks at gamestop (store credit) and 80 bucks cash!! also i opened my ps2 (to clean the laser) and they didnt even ask about the sticker, so i would assume gamestop doesnt care about that. at least thats what happened when i went

i work at gamestop, you should probably go during busy hours if you don't want them to check. i am not positive on the sticker thing, but you probably have a better chance of them not checking if they are busy.

Holy crap 100 at GS? I didn't think they pay that much. And so I learn something new.. I also admit I open my ps2 to clean out my laser =\. But I think it might depend on the person you're giving the ps2 too. Like some guys who are smart enough to know, you need the sticker might not buy it and some might not even look for it maybe.. just some possibilities otherwise they might not take it.

Ok, so if the dude check my PS2 and find out the sticker, then I better off walk out of the store. I'll then come back tomorrow hoping for a chance that I'll meet a new person instead. Hopefully that person will not check.

Just to make sure, can any more GS employee confirm about it?

If they don't accept it, call Sony and tell them you have a disc read error. They'll take them without the sticker and send you back one with a sticker. You have to pay shipping though, so only as a last resort if absolutely no one will take it.

What are the restrictions on the broken system trade-in? I have one that I disassembled and didn't reassemble, and I may have lost the controller block.

i think i saw one of my managers take one in without the sticker (the person even told him it didn't have it). again,i am not positive about it. i don't know if gamestop would take an unassembled console. we do refurbish broken ones, but you only get $30 store credit, but i believe it has to be a COMPLETE console. that means power cord,av cord, controller, and of course the console.

i think he did the full price for trade in. but you could always go up there and have them see how much you could get for it. you don't have to do it,they can just tell you. i have to do that all the time for customers. you could call and ask to speek with a manager and ask how much you could get for it without the seal. it is also better to go later in the day if you are trying to do a cash trade in to make sure they have enough money to do it. we always have to have money (for change of course) and earlier in the day we can't give the people the cash because not enough people buy early in the morning usually.

Not really the greatest use of grammer...

Note: I know, I know...

[/quote]

Agreed.

Mgsvr, I have to ask. Is English your native tongue?

So, he has horrible spelling and grammar, but it makes for a great laugh. There's no need to make fun of him or get mad even if English is his first language.

Laugh to yourself and have a grand life.

geeze, why do people making a fuss over somebody's grammar? Yes, English is not my first langauage. Atleast I'm trying to write something that people can read. Unlike people who write all CAPs, or th3 c00l or whatever it is.

Can people just be cool and stick with the topic instead of being off topic like this? Making fun of people all the time huh.

biggestinuyashafan, thanks again for answering my answer. I'll call them up tommorow, and hoping to talk to someone who know what the seal sticker is.

I talked to a guy today, but he seem like he knew nothing about the sticker in the back of the ps2.

At least you have an excuse.

But that only goes so far. If I was trying to master a new language I wouldn't want my mistakes ignored. How would I learn otherwise?

OK, I'm ready to go to GS tomrrow. Just one last question, how many chance in % that GS will take in my system for full price even when they noticed the Void sticker are sealed off?

Well I'll just call them tomorrow and ask about the Void sticker b4 I go there. I don't want to pack everything up because it's a hassle to get all the cable and stuff from the back of my TV.
