Wow. I want to buy Incredipede. It looks so cool.

But I don't think I'm allowed to buy anything that doesnt have cards.

New rule. :p

What happens after you craft cards for a badge? Do the cards disappear and you start collecting them again? Do the card images get permanently bound to your account? Does confetti fly out of your speakers?

Once you get a little further in Kingsmouth try to get in a Polaris group. You might have high enough level gear to do it now. I believe the quest is called Dead in the water.

Shift+c will bring up the lfg window, you can add yourself there and wait for someone to invite you while you quest, or spam in the lfg channel

I ran that a few times to gear up
Thanks. I need to read a guide for this game. I don't play MMOs or complicated games too often (like using more than the mouse, wasd, and shoot) so I get overwhelmed by all this stuff (inventory, abilities, skills, shortcuts, etc.). I asked Idiot last nite, but he was too cool for school. I accidentally used one of my super potions trying to map some healing potion...lol

You know, the name sounded so lame to me I didn't even bother looking at it til you posted. When I did I was impressed. Pretty cool looking game mechanics. I'll wait for 75% off during the summer sale hopefully.

they give you a potato and a coupon for 30% off Bad Rats...

In all seriousness, the cards disappear and a bade is added to your account (along with 100 XP). You get an emoticon, background, and coupon (which are by and large worthless). You don't get any more drops either, but there is still the chance for booster packs to drop, and you can craft each badge five times IIRC.

Currently they disappear although with the talk of 'binders' I'm guessing they'll let you keep the images on some page.

That would make sense. I guess it seems to me that the most interesting thing about collecting the cards is the cards themselves, not the items you craft from them. A background or a badge is neat, but the colorful illustrations on the cards are more fun.

If/when you're interested in doing a polaris group, I'd be happy to help out. I'm about 1.5 zones ahead of you (just entering blue mountain) and would love the chance to tweak my healing build in Polaris. ReignInHell is my character's nick, if you're interested.

For all the ones I like, I just click on the cards and get the image link, and then save the image to my background folder. I have a bunch of portal 2 and borderlands 2 backgrounds for my desktop now.

I can tank it, although I'm not sure if I'd be a good barometer on how you're healing build is. I'm in mostly ql 10.4 gear so I hardly take any damage from normal mobs. I two manned darkness war with my friend last night just to get a sword mold to change the look of my sword. End game gear looks stupid.

I might take you guys up on that offer, but right now I just checked and I am still Level 1 apparently, though very close to level 2. I've been doing all the side missions so I think I need to get back to the main missions to level up some more.

I think the biggest confusion I always have is the damn items. When I played WOW my brother had to go into my account and equip everything since apparently I was wearing crappy items and had all this powerful stuff in my bag. Gotta get used to all that.

well there aren't really "levels" in TSW like their are in WoW....your level is based on your gear...so if you look at your gear, weapons, talismans..they will say QL 1, QL 2...this is where it might get confusing...a blue QL 1 weapon, is usually better than a green QL 2 weapon...blue is a "rare" drop or a bind on pickup drop that you usually get out of dungeons. So like WoW thats the same white weapons are the base, green is better than white, blue is better than green and purple are better than blue. But mainly play attention to the QL level right now.

Not a MMORPG, (It's a MMOTPS) but Defiance has some of the elements of them.. with full native controller support.
Defiance is next on my list of MMO. I usually don't like or play them, but TSW is basically an RPG with MMO features ad Defiance looks like great fun.
I like it - it's not perfect, or incredibly deep.. but the shooting & driving are done well, and the classless system/respec any time you want is a refreshing change from traditional MMOs. Arkfalls are fun. I went on and on about it a few weeks back when steam was having a free weekend, so I won't go any further. :)

Oh god they added cards to Ugly Baby

Give them to meeeeeeeee please. I want to craft the Level 5 badge. I love that game even if the dev doesn't want to add FLAC support until way way way in the future. :(

Yeah, I don't think we'll see it hit $5 ever again unless it ever goes completely F2P, but when that happens then they will most likely make you pay for every single pack (there are going to be up to 7 soon) so it won't be cheaper.  The best deal was buying it for $14.99 before they added the new story packs.  Do they still give you the first five story packs if you buy it at retail?  Otherwise, any "savings" will be spent up on the story packs.

Issue #5 you still have to buy, which is Tyler Freeborn, after doing 30 missions you get 1200 funcom points, I think issue #5 is 750 funcom points, Issue #6 is Last Train to Cairo, and thats 1200 Funcom points...

Now, you don't NEED either of those...it adds a few extra missions, and a rare (blue) signet reward at the end of each chain. Last Train to Cairo also gives you access to the Whip Auxillary Weapon which for tanking gives you the shortest cooldown on any interrupt (essential in Nightmare). Those quests can be repeated every 3 days. It doesn't give you any additional dungeon or anything like that, but some of the signets you get are pretty highly sought after.

Why? Because you can't just make a commonly accepted meme about a quote where "there is NO try" and put a fuckin' TRY in it. That's been bugging me for years, since it's logically incorrect. Now I feel accomplished.

Is there anyway to get more free Funcom points after the initial 1200 or is real cash from then on?

Its cash from here on out, but they don't roll out an issue every month...so you're looking at a few months or more between issues and the funcom points are pretty much worthless other than buying new content....unless you're want to buy fancy costumes that don't do anything. I would imagine that when they roll out Tokyo that will be free to all players.....don't quote me on that but it seems like the smaller DLC is what they're selling...as its not essential to play, but enhances the experience and gives you a few perks that aren't game breakers.

issue #5 and #6 are not free, but you get enough credit to buy one of them after 30 missions. Everyone should buy issue #6 just for the quest reward.

Well someone go ahead and send me TSW and I'll try it out then.   Although now with my Naga in the basement, it'd be hard for me to play an MMO without it (game upstairs now).   If you like MMOs I HIGHLY recommend a Razer Naga.  I don't know how I ever played without one.

I saw Steam has the usual 25% off a 4 pack, and Amazon has the 4 pack at full price, just didn't know if any other digital retailers had good pre-order 4-pack or single deals up yet. Since, you know, searching this forum is borked.

Steam Cardz update:

We've made some small updates today related to yesterday's update

Booster Pack Eligibility - you can now confirm your eligibility for a booster pack drop from your badges page. Just click on "How do I earn card drops", and the dialog will tell you if you are eligible to receive booster packs for that game. More information about booster packs has also been added to the Trading Card FAQ.

No game count / game count of 0 - We've fixed an issue where some users had a game count of 0 after yesterday's update.

Game count off by 1 - The "Company of Heroes 2 Beta" was counting towards everyone's game count. This has been fixed, but that means your game count on your profile may be 1 lower than it was earlier today.

Level colors for levels 20-29, and 30-39 - The colors for these levels have been changed to match our intended design. 20-29 is now orange (was yellow), 30-39 is now yellow (was purple).

"You are not currently eligible for a booster pack

Once you have received all of your card drops, you become eligible for a booster pack containing 3 additional cards."

Well, that makes sense.

I love owning The WarZ cuz I get emails like this first:

Effective today, The War Z has changed its name to Infestation: Survivor Stories. This change has come about primarily as a result of some confusion and trademark issues with a similarly titled property. While we were reluctant to rename the game so long after launch, especially with nearly 1 million registered players, it was ultimately decided to be in the best interest of our existing community as well as future players in order to eliminate confusion. Please rest assured that this will in NO WAY affect you as players. The only difference you will see is the change in logo and website. There will be no interruption of service or change in content.
