Haha those CAG trading cards made me crack a huge grin.

Off topic (?): Has anyone tried the new Walking Dead 400 Days DLC yet? I know we'll see a better deal shortly, but at $4 (GMG discount) and considering how much I loved the base game, I'm considering just buying it now so I can play it this weekend. I haven't seen many opinions yet so I was curious if any CAGs have had a chance yet. (Maybe I'm just being naive, since everyone knows CAGs would only buy it when it's 75% off)
I went ahead and got it for $5 on Steam. A bit short, but worth every penny.

You don't. The discount gets you.

You probably can't get it, if you have to ask lol. It was given to people that had their Bethesda/BL2 orders cancelled during the price glitch a while ago. You can have people to buy you stuff with their discount though.
In Soviet Russia, Gamersgate discounts get you. . .

10 hours into an arena mode with 16 (?) repetitive fights in a row? That's the first time I've heard that take on it (the longest I've heard someone putting into it is 6 hours doing it solo).

Ironically, console shooter communities aren't really that bad. For one, they're mostly silent, and two, they can be pretty funny. When I played L4D2 on Xbox, okay, they were horrendous. In all my old CoD days (*shudder*) the experience was usually fine enough. You'd get the occasional 9-year-old mouthing off, but that's what mute is for.

And I always found Halo games to have a pretty good community. Back when me and my friends would play together and meet random people online, it was always pretty amusing. Like the time we met this chick who teamed up with us who had the thickest southern accent you've ever heard, telling us how she was "Freezing my ass off down here in Kentucky", it was humorous.
Eh, I'm slow--no argument there. But I did enjoy it while it lasted, so it's a mark in the plus column for EE in my book.

My comments are based largely on anecdotal evidence, as I indicated previously, so YMMV. My nephew played some multiplayer Transformers: War for Cybertron and 007 Bloodstone on my PS3; that's probably as much multiplayer action as it's seen in its lifetime, with the exception of an hour or so that I messed around with the Guardians of Middle-Earth game that was a PS Plus freebie. Honestly, of the few MOBAs I've tinkered with that was the one that probably had the best chance of hooking me just because of the theme, but the mechanics of these games are pretty uninteresting to me.

There's no use in pretending I read the last three words of that sentence.

Which led me to believe that Sleeping Dogs has some superb side quests.
I won't lie--I'm not too good at that either.

I just noticed that you can expand the view on the steam cards into a hi-rez picture. The picture shown on the thumb view of the cards is only a small part of the whole picture. It is really noticeable on the Psychonauts cards which expand into some concept art. I wish I would have noticed that sooner before I sold most of my cards. I would have at least taken a few seconds to look at each card before putting them on the marketplace.

There are a lot of sites that have them all listed - for example: http://www.steamcardexchange.net/index.php?showcase

At least with j shack making these cards I can see what people's avatars actually are. On mobile I can't tell what the heck they are.

Also, the JakeNome panda is far inferior to the Preedatore "Bear.". His name is Bear, he is 34 years old, and he now protects my son's crib at night.

So I was actually trying to collect a bunch of trading cards to complete badges, until I got  tired of finding trades in forums and decided to sell them in the market. Made $21 today. Now I have no idea why I ever though about completing badges in the 1st place, lol.

Are the mystery cards uncommon or something?  I crafted two badges today and received 2 mystery cards instead of coupons.  I only ask because the items are marked as "common" in my inventory so I'm a bit confused why they are going for over $1 on the marketplace...

Maybe it's just the tempting description?  Though knowing my luck the card will end up turning into a random card for a game I already have.

edit: Modified my avatar with higher res Maya in case she gets a close up :)

So what do the mystery cards do, turn into a different card or just stay a mystery?

Idiotique CAG card is $6 because no one wants to stop looking at all those tongues.

No one knows, but the description saying you should "hold onto it" makes it sound like it will serve some purpose in the Summer Sale, possibly.

If it just changes into another card... might as well sell now. Very few cards are worth over the $1.30ish they're going for (after fees).

Totally expecting a mod to come in here and clear out all the CAG cards thing, which would be a sad thing.

On topic, I just picked up Baldur's Gate. For $5 it's worth it. Been forever since I've played it last. Now I didn't buy Bully during this sale but I have it through Steam and haven't had any problems with it at all. From the reports I've seen here I'm in the minority it seems.

Maybe I'll craft a cheap badge just to get one for the fun of it. GSB cards look cheap and I can get half of them myself.

I'd have to agree. I fully expect it to be something to trade in for more cards or something that probably wont get you the little over a $1 it's getting now.

Your secret is safe with me.

There's currently a pricing error on Endless Space and the new DLC bringing both down to 70% off, if you're interested on playing the game right now might be a nice moment to get it.

Thanks jshackles!

Whoa, FF6 is my favorite JRPG.  I've been confused how S-E seems content to rehash the same Final Fantasies over and over (everything from FF1-FF4 received remakes or HD versions, and FF5 came out with an HD version on iOS as well I think), yet the best FF of all time sits in the shadows (in my opinion of course, though it's pretty easy to make the argument that FF6 is the best pre-Sony FF at the very least).  I truly hope it's coming to Steam as more than just an excuse for S-E to dangle a lazy port at nostalgia-maddened fans.

I knew from the start FFVII on Steam was inevitable. But other than VIII and XI, none of the others have PC versions.

Dear lord I hope this doesn't lead to a "best FF" debate.
It's IX.

I would like to join the CAG Trading Card club please.

EDIT: Also, I have a theory about these mystery cards. People have said they get them instead of coupons, right? Well, maybe they'll have something to do with the summer sale? Like each mystery card adds another small percentage off the sale price? I'm talking small, like 5-10%. Maybe? Probably not? Ok, I'll be quiet.

meh, I still have the FFVII PS1 discs laying around somewhere, the achievements and other bonus stuff they added is not enough to merit a full price purchase.
Same here. I have one complete copy, non-greatest hits, great shape... and then another set of discs that look like someone shat on them (can't remember for the life of me where they came from).
