I enjoy American Pickers and Hidden Object games, so Pickers for less than $1 is a deal. I know my gamer cred just dropped 50 points. :D
hey I love hidden object games (well casual games in general), so you are most definitely not alone on this. Pickers actually seems the most popular game out of the current bunch ^_~

It's an interactive novel. That market segment doesn't seem to be as big on Desura and Steam.
even still having your game on some sort of platform is never a bad thing. I can't imagine whatever Desura charges wouldn't be worth it, and Greenlight is practically a given for most indie devs. I know whenever I see "DRM-Free only" it is almost always a no go barring games that are completely free. I know I'm probably in the minority on this, but I would take a desura/steam version over DRM free any day.

The Dev for Cinders says Desuras sales are very low...and the amount before payout is too high. He said its like 500 dollars before you get a payout..so it would be awhile before they even got money if they put it on Desura.

As far as Steam goes the dev said they were rejected by Steam, and this was after the author of Analogue recommended them to Steam, when they were asked for any other VN's to carry.

hmm, well I guess that is a good point. Still, considering the price of Cinders is $20, do they really think they won't even sell 25 copies on it? He did mention being rejected, but I'd be curious to know if this was before or after greenlight came to fruition. I'm sure a lot of games currently on steam wouldn't be there had they been submitted now with greenlight the way it is, though I guess all of this is just me wanting the game on steam and I'm probably missing the bigger picture. Either way it is still disappointing to me that it will likely never find it's way onto any service, as I was actually really curious to play it, but I really don't feel compelled to BTA with the possibility I will lose access after a few months.

That hint came from Jonny (Admin). You will get a Steam key if it's greenlit.

Oh, and the next Groupees bundle will have a Japanese theme. All of the games will be from Japanese developers.

I wish I could be excited but I'm worried they'll choose shitty ones. :(

Agreed.

As a great man once said, modern Japanese games just suck.
Can I just say that I hope you get syphilis for even jokingly declaring Phil Fish a great man? That's like saying Uwe Boll is the Martin Scorsese of angry journalism.

Japanese Doujin (indie) Bundle is coming next week.

The middle picture of the girl with the apron on is Cherry Tree High Comedy Club. Anyone recognize the others?

Cherry Tree High has Steam cards btw, it's a fun little game too.

I was really disappointed in myself for failing to pick up the game, especially when it got cards. That went away this morning when I saw that image.

And I don't recognize anything else because these games aren't typically in my wheelhouse. Hopefully something appeals to me or it's a minimum of one. I'll be up for trying something new though if not.

Found this from a Reddit post:

"Guy on bottom right, girl on top left, and guy on bottom left from Ether Vapor Remaster

Girl on left, guys left and right of middle from Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm"

So.. Cherry Tree High Comedy Club, Ether Vapor Remaster, and Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm?

So it seems Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm is in some sort of kickstarter-est funding plan right now. Would be a weird inclusion to the bundle if it is really the case :whistle2:k

Ether Vapor Remaster! Sold!

It's been on my wishlist for a while, but hasn't been less than $4 (50%).

Cherry Tree was enjoyable, but iirc, the translation was a too Americanized for my taste. I wouldn't balk at a steam version.

Sweet! Been wanting Cherry Tree Comedy Club for some time now. I had a feeling it would be in a Groupees bundle one day (Fairy Bloom Freesia, also published by Capcom, was in a previous Groupees bundle).

My word, what a convoluted procedure. Never in a million years would I have figured that out by myself. Thanks to your clear instructions though, I was able to claim & redeem my key with no problems at all.Thank you very much for the help. :)
I was about to post "it's not *that* complicated, there's an Activate Key link at the bottom of every Desura page that lets you see your keys" but Desura seems to have removed the link - WTF!

As it is now, you can go directly to your Desura collection at http://www.desura.com/collection and click on Keys for the particular game you are looking for.
I hadn't heard of this before now. Is every Steam key given by Desura a different key than what Groupees gives?

I might have a shitload.

Edit: Ah, yes. I have to determine what is Groupees and not Royale and then compare keys.

I don't remember specifically about Groupees, but I do know I've bought a handful of games from other sources, from the developers for example, which got me keys on Desura (Anodyne is one example I remember). Then a game got on Steam, so the developer handed out keys to everyone who bought it direct from them *and* to everyone had the game on Desura, so I ended up with two Steam keys for the game.

^ Yup, this is how Steam keys for Greenlit games are often dealt with. Then you have the rare instances (like La-Mulana) where Groupees gives you a key AND Desura gives you a key...
I didn't get a La-Mulana Steam key from Desura.

The only key listed is the Desura key from Groupees that I used to add La-Mulana to my Desura account. It's the only game that lists its own key and it's described as an "Invite." They all list their own key.

Edit: Contacted them.

[customspoiler=' Edit: That was a waste of an hour SMH']The Desura forums are terrible.

I'm about to dump the keys I wrung out of my collection page but I want to know what they are first.

Invite?
Unlock Key?
Full Invite?
Redeem key?

What's the difference? I'm not seeing an explanation anywhere.

Edit: Okay, this random poster at GOG took a stab at the OP. I'll go with that. [/customspoiler]

So the next Groupees bundle has already been teased: Let's Build A Doujin Bundle -- Seven games.

http://gallery.mailchimp.com/bfebd948a16e44c6d947d9410/images/doujin_teaser4.jpg

* Cherry Tree High Comedy Club
* Ether Vapor Remaster
* Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm (!)

Anyone know what the others are?

(Credit to jamesbuc at the GOG forums for posting this.)
Is the number of games based on the assumption that each character in the teaser is from a different game? On the previous page of this thread, someone quoted a Reddit commenter who associated all seven characters with these three games.

I'm not in the market for a waifu dating simulator~  Also of noted Ether Vapor is published by Capcom on Steam. Incoming Dead Rising bundle.

Yeah uh, no.

Capcom publishes some doujin / indie games that have been translated by Nyu Media in non-Japanese markets. The eXceed trilogy, Satazius, Fairy Bloom Freesia have all been recently bundled. Apparently most if not all of these are not available on Steam in Japan 'cause Capcom sucks, and the only way for them to get the games are through these bundles.

It also turns out that Nyu Media is translating Yatagarasu so ... I'm guessing more of their back catalog will show up in this bundle.

Wait what? How is Cherry Tree High Comedy Club a Japanese wife simulator? It's about a girl in High School trying to restart an old Comedy Club that was famous in the past by recruiting other high school students to join her club.

So every Japanese visual novel = Wife Simulator now.

Right.

Mooby has misinterpreted his affinity for waifu dating sims for distaste. Just rest assured he's playing Katawa Shoujo on his The World God Only Knows branded PSP.

Just needs Underage Panty Quest 4 to be a good Japanese indie bundle.

Oddly enough, I've still got Ether Vapor and Cherry Tree backlogged. I CAN vouch for Freesia but we all probably have that already.

If Croixleur shows up, just keep walking. Even the unsubtle yuri of the whole thing is not enough to make it entertaining.

No hentai = no buy

You must have missed the compensated dating and weekend trip with teacher portions. ^_~

You know what would be awesome? If they used this bundle to announce the brand new PC port of God Hand and Capcom decides to release with a bang in a Groupees bundle.

I'd kill for that, though. I still have a physical copy of it... I should really see how well it plays with PCSX2 one of these day. That game was damn hard, but amazing.

Also these please:

Okami HD

Vanquish
Bayonetta
Viewtiful Joe
Madworld
Viewtiful Joe 2

I've only played 4 of them. Sucks.

P* is the only Japanese dev company I like and they're one of my very favorite overall. No fucking way I'm getting a Wii U though.

Free Bayonetta!
