I've been playing through Resident Evil 6 and enjoying it. It's not perfect but it's pretty good, the controls feel modern for the first time in RE history & playing as Leon again is so nostalgic. Seems to be a ton of content, there are like 20 chapters and it's taking me an hour plus to complete each. Any way, I want to get RE Revelations but I'm going to wait for better than 50% off. I'd like to pick it up for around $10-12, maybe one day.

Yeah I finished most of the campaigns in RE6 (all except for Ada's) with asheskitty the other day and had a great time with it. I thought it was a lot better than the reviews gave it credit for, and definitely worth the $8 I paid on GamersGate. The PC ports of RE5 and RE6 are great, so I expect no less for Revelations. Hopefully GG will have a price mistake on Revelations soon ;)

Heh. Yeah, Foil cards are a bunch of random :bs:

I've had around 225 card drops and only 2 foils in that span. One in the first 10 drops and the other was right after I hit 120-130. Sold both for a combined $16.27, so while nice... it's just not nice and plentiful enough.

I'm starting to believe the 1:100 drop rate to be true.

Edit: I don't use SAM or idle multiple games at once either. :whistle2:|
I got my second foil today (fourth overall) while using SAM to idle three games at once, for what it's worth. After that though the cards stopped dropping and I had to go back to just idling one game at a time.

It's the co-op that helped make RE5 and RE6 so fun. Sadly Revelations does not have co-op :(

Woohoo! Super House of Dead Ninjas got cards, and it's 50% off. New DLC too:

I think I'm going to go ahead and grab that for $3.49. I'm not sure why I passed on it during the SSS (was it cheaper?), but I watched the WTF video and he seemed to be having a great time. Like TB, I'm not a huge fan of neo-retro, but it looks like SHoDN does a lot of things right. I'm seeing a lot of value there.

And cardz.

yeah, it was $2.37 (y u no use Enhanced Steam?). Just in case you didn't know, you can try the original flash version on adultswim's website for free. Apparently the paid version is just a bigger and better version, but the gameplay is more or less the same :)

Resident Evil Revelations has a really fun single player campaign. (I'm about 3 hours into RE6 and I can tell you right now RE: Rev is much better =). It has much more of a older Resident Evil feel to it. (Good atmosphere, creapy enclosed corridors, a spooky ghostship, shit like that.) Story is of the bad but good Capcom quality. So if anyone was really hoping to play I would say $25 is a more then fair price for it. Anyone else on the fence I would say wait for 66%-75% off.

Well yeah.. Revelations is an entirely different game. RE5 and RE6 were designed for co-op. RE Revelations was designed for singleplayer. I wouldn't really compare them due to that. Same reason I wouldn't recommend playing RE5 or RE6 in singleplayer (except for Ada's campaign in RE6).

RE5 single player isn't that bad, though. What's her face (Shaya, Sheva, something like that) was responsive enough and had the mechanical feel of an obedient CPU player. She took cover when appropriate and ran to heal me whenever my health was low. It's also easier to exchange items with a bot, since they immediately come to you. Sadly, the bot was a lot better at the game than my then-gf whom I co-oped with...

That's really sad if the AI was better than your "then-gf".. You should play with someone that knows what they're doing ;). I know RE5/6 are "ok" as singleplayer games, but they're a hell of a lot better if you play with a friend that's remotely decent.

I think horror games like Resident Evil blow as co-op games, truth be told. Mechanically? Sure, it'll work, and it'll be easier too, but it just ruins the entire feel and point of the game. If I want a bro shooter, I'm play the hundred other co-op FPS games that are built for that. I play games like Resident Evil when I want a creepy setting, a slower pace, and the feeling of being alone in a precarious situation (AI doesn't count).

Nothing wrong with playing the games either way, but I've heard so many times that RE5 sucks as a single player game and even if that's a drastic opinion, most people still sing that it's a better co-op game. I never thought "This would be funner in co-op" while playing RE5.

But maybe I'm alone in this opinion. I also greatly prefer Dead Island as a single player game... so eh.

RE5 single player would be fine if it wasn't for the retarded AI companion. If it wasn't for that it would be just fine alone =P. The only RE games I wouldn't consider different parts of the main franchise is those stupid on rail shooter House of the Dead clones and Operation Racoon City.

RE5/6 are hardly "horror" games.. What you just said doesn't really apply to them IMO. Both are easy games (in SP and MP), aside from professional difficulty, without much of a scare factor or sense or being alone..

Is it some macho thing for everyone to say "lol that game isn't scary" about anything ever called "creepy" or "scary"? Seems like every single time a horror game comes up for discussion, someone has to point out that it isn't scary.

I never said they were super scary games, but they are still horror games. The setting is creepy, they're slower paced, unsettling, etc. It's not CoD, it's Resident Evil. Even if they aren't making you crap your pants, they're still slower paced horror games, albeit they've gotten more like bro shooters as the series has progressed.

I've played RE5 on 360, and like I said, I prefer it as a single player game 100% because of the reasons I've already stated.

I was a physical die-hard until digital download prices started getting attractive
I still would prefer physical. I still have OLD game disks (both 5.25 and 3.5 and CDs). Every once in a while I try to reload X-Wing, or Privateer, or Baldur's Gate... then I realize I can and I'd have to jump through hoops to make things work. I was tickled pink when they re-released Z onto iPad. I LOVED that game back in the day.

What I REALLY want is for Black and White to get a make-over, get on Steam, so I can start sacrificing me some worshippers for my Monkey God. :)

They're not very slow paced.. especially RE6 which is pretty fast paced. I didn't think they were creepy at all either.. but to each his own.

Slower paced, as in slower than other modern FPS/bro shooters, but alright.

As far as the creepiness goes, it's the theme, setting, storytelling, etc. But if RE6 isn't creepy whatsoever, it shouldn't even be called a Resident Evil game...

I do use Enhanced Steam - I just didn't recall how much it was and was too lazy to go look. :)

Ok, good news is that Super House of Dead Ninjas is quite fun. I'm not a big retro fan, as I mentioned, and games like Super Meat Boy are just a tad bit masochistic for my tastes. Through its unlockable weapon/item system SHoDN manages to make you feel as though you are accomplishing more than simply pushing through a meat grinder (no pun intended) from point A to point B.

Also, the act of descending the tower is quite interesting. Who'd have figured something as simple as going down in a game would create a unique game mechanic?

I will be playing this game much more.

You should really check out Freedom Fall :)

So has anyone actually provided their personal info to Steam to sell more than 200 cards?
I'm not rich. I don't care.

If a Chinese hacker finds my SS# he'll yell: "Anyone want this?!" and everyone else in the hotel will bellow furiously: "Noooooooo, stop asking!!"

He'll then hear a single voice: "Where's my mask?!" as he's swiftly bitch slapped on the forehead by the wiry gangbanger in the capsule right above his.

Having lost the mask earlier that day, the hacker will play coy: "What mask?"

"My SARS mask, motherfucker! You play coy like a bitch."

FATAL SLAP (he has dat alibi doe)

So, yeah, it practically guards itself.

edit: gun post lol

Sadly, the bot was a lot better at the game than my then-gf whom I co-oped with...
Let me get this straight... you copulated with your ex-girl, Jessica Chobot, then broke up and compared the experience to sex with a robot? And the robot was better?

What is this shit? Who put you up to this?

I gave them a DNA sample
They're my go-to sperm bank when Blade's GF isn't available.

(In all serious)
I couldn't ever take RE5 serious, especially when going gator hunting as a business woman. My friend and I couldn't give two craps about that game and had fun (I remember him killing me with LAZERS because I killed his best friend George, the spider)

@Mind Link, there's a song about that XP I would know as it's by one of my favorite bands
