I'm conflicted, I want to buy LA Noire on xbox since it's currently on sale for $15, but I got burned by buying Max Payne 3 on there only to have it come up cheaper in a PS3 sale. Decisions Decisions...

So I started playing Muramasa on a whim last night and I'm actually pleasantly surprised after not enjoying Dragon's Crown in the least. While it's still the same sort of "let's shove everything onto one button so half the time you're doing something unexpected" controls, the combat still feels so much better. This is actually what I expected Dragon's Crown to be like with combat that's fast and fluid but Muramasa fortunately picks me up where DC let me down.

Damn. Picked up Tokyo Jungle, Journey, and Skullgirls when they were all $7.50 and have barely played any of them.
I think I'll probably saying this next time they go on sale but with $3.75 instead.

Are you going to play it sometime before black friday? If so, then go ahead and get it. Otherwise, hold off until BF and I'm sure you can get the GOTY edition for $10.

It eventually becomes a generic far cry game with dragons that shoot lazers.
you say that like it's a bad thing.

still resisting the purchase. i don't know why, i should just buy it, i know i'd enjoy it. i just have switched almost entirely to the vita, so picking up journey, blood dragon, and dyad today seem silly yet nearly irresistible. even though i know i'll just be playing spelunky on my vita.

EDIT - it was worth the 7 bucks to stop debating it. i know i'll love it. i used to have self control, then i met psn summer sales.

If it helps, I found L.A. Noire to be a chore to finish and could never see myself playing it again. It feels like the freshest, most awesome game in years when you start, then you realize the actual gameplay part of it is super shallow and frankly boring. It doesn't help that the story is pretty bad, save for an interesting case here or there. I wouldn't recommend it at $15 and would definitely suggest a rental over owning it (especially digitally).

My picks for the next sale:

Retro City Rampage
Journey
Spelunky

Ended up buying this sale:

Guacamelee! vita

Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack vita

I lost interest in LA Noir after a few hours of playing. The gameplay seemed a little dull and I couldn't grasp the interrogation system they were going for. I think the facial capture hype was overblown also. I do think it has some promise and all the good reviews and comments on it make me think I wasn't approaching it correctly. I actually would like to read a guide to figure out the basics of the best way to play and then re-try it, but that window of reality is getting smaller everyday with plenty of other games in my backlog and not much time.

I also concur that LA Noir doesn't seem like the game you would want to replay - whether you like it or not.

I'm so so so tempted to do the same. I just can't justify the cash on it now, especially with Madden out today and lack of a local co-op partner for it. I foresee a deeper discount in the future, so I'll hold out.
The game has online too, though reportedly not well populated, at least not yet. Hopefully the community grows and matches are easier to get in to.

+1 to this. Really disappointing overall, but I can see why some people liked it, so YMMV. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it :whistle2:?

Only place I've seen that GotY at B&M is Target and they're selling out the stock so good luck finding it. May have to rely on Amazon.

Well I loved Heavy Rain...
That's fine everyone's tastes are different.

Heck if you used the GS trade promo the month after it came out you would have essentially gotten a free rental of the game. Some promo gave you like $45 or $47.50 in trade for it the month after it came out.

Bought the GotY later on sale at Target to play the DLC & add the game to my collection permanently.

I can't see buying LA Noire digitally. I enjoyed the game a lot but can't really see playing it again unless it's in a few years when i forget about a lot of the details. I'd say buy used and trade back in. What you pay will be similar to the digital sale price.

Also, I despised Heavy Rain but enjoyed LA Noire. I don't consider them similar really. Especially not in terms of gameplay.

Good God there have been a lot of good deals lately. In the past two weeks I've snagged DOA5+, Ridge Racer, New Little King's Story (probably will regret this one if/when it goes on sale for less), Dynasty Warriors Next, and Touch My Katamari. Just caught a glimpse of next week's sales on the PS Blog and it looks like I might finally be snagging Journey for $3.75. Also will likely pick up Dragon Fantasy Book I, Tokyo Jungle (finally!), and Skullgirls. Good thing Best Buy is still selling the $50 PSN cards for $45. Not much of a discount but considering I need to buy one anyway it works out great.

Happened to play some Tokyo Jungle via Remote Play on my Vita this weekend -- pretty good. Some slowdown every now and then, which I didn't notice on the PS3, but graphics look the same to my eye.

Dammit! Figures they update earlier when I wanted to make a purchase before they updated.

Oh well. Hopefully I can get a good deal on the cart version of Dead or Alive + or at least shows up for free sometime soon.

Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable seems to have a permanent price drop to $19.99

Need For Speed: Most Wanted is PPD to $29.99 PS3 and $19.99 Vita.

Good deal on Sweet Fuse $24.99. (684MB)

-Floating Cloud $3.49

-The hd ad of rotating octopus $2.99

how are those games? Floating CLoud and Rotating Octopus

guess Sony decided on the games for me :p

no NLKS and no Divekick!

hmm now deciding on Skullgirls (already got it on PC so not sure why I want it again)

Why people wait till the last day of a sale is beyond me. I generally buy my games the first day unless I'm undecided on them.
for some strange reason, Divekick is 7.99 for me in cart.

undecided on Journey and Skullgirls! (having them on my PS3 Digital Library is convenient) but..

Journey CE - I have this

Skullgirls PC - I have this

well, today was blood dragon (before the update), and now:

spelunky and dragon fantasy for vita

dyad and journey for ps3

i can't believe i'm saying this, but i hope the sales dry up for awhile.

I've been waiting for a good price drop so there will eventually be a good sale. Just a few more months of waiting for a $10 price point...
This. I'm in the second it drops to $10. Might even bite for $15. $20 is fair but the CAG in me says I'll get it for less later. Especially if this is a permanent price drop.

I hear you, I went from a plan of just buying what I was about to play for PS3 a couple months ago to having a triple digit backlog.

Yeah, last Tuesday through Saturday was me trying to figure out what to buy, Sunday was a seminar, and yesterday and today were soup kitchens. I should have planned between them.

D'oh welll. I'll just buy Killzone day one instead.

That's what you get for being a decent human being and serving slidecage his soup.

I'm in for DBF1 and Tokyo Jungle at those prices. Already have the Journey disc. I'll have to look up Dyad and the other games I'm unfamiliar with. What a great sale!

I should finish Guacamelee this week so I can start on the games I'm buying.
