There are quite a few free and free2play games and mods on steam. You can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

I just found my old one of these when cleaning some stuff out of my basement. Once I get less busy I'm going to see if it still works and/or if I can get someone to fix it. I'm curious to see how some of my more favorite games on it play.

edit: Nevermind. That was premature. All Bioshock 2 owners apparently get Minerva's Den so there's nothing to buy. Sorry. :)

They updated the Bioshock 2 page. Apparently if you don't already own Bioshock 2 it'll cost you $9.99. Pretty nice loyalty reward from 2k. Also, no more scary red DRM warnings in Enhanced Steam because they patched that stuff out.

Finally! I now have reason to "remove" Bioshock 2 from backlog (have been waiting for this update).

Nice to see Minerva's Den added for free :)

Well now I feel like a square for passing on the Bioshock dual pack again when it was $5 on amazon. Is it only free for those that owned it before today?

I assume it'll come with any redeemed codes, at least ones that were generated prior to this, but it seems like you'll need to buy it separately from Steam now. I may be completely wrong though. It's possible that the key needed to already be redeemed.

Apperantly if you activate key from retail copy you get. Other online shops might have keys with Minerva's Den for sometime at least.

Also worth noting, retail keys for Bioshock 2 now activate on Steam.  Was just able to activate my GFWL copy on steam to obtain the free DLC.

No luck for my disc copy of Bioshock 1 though.
