Banjo-Kazooie was free in South Africa while we got Rainbow Six Vegas, and Shadowrun was free in Germany/Japan while we got Crackdown. Resident Evil Code Veronica X was free in Japan/UAE while we got Dead Rising 2. All are high candidates on my list.
It was Banjo Kazooie Nuts n Bolts, not regular Banjo Kazooie.

Why complain about being attacked with an attack?

There are plenty of places to discuss PSN vs XBL. This thread doesn't need to be one of them as there is absolutely no benefit to the discussion here.
Nicely said. I don't find Xbox Live versus PS+ discussions interesting at all.

I don't mind getting duplicate games I already have as long as they aren't ones I opened from my huge backlog or bought through download. Too much to hope for though, but so far so good. This might bring up another problem. Do I buy games that are on sale or do I take a chance it'll be free sometime in the future? Halo 3 went on sale a month or so ago even though it was announced as a free game. I hope no one bought it.

If they keep this going for 3 more years, that would be 72 games, 85 games if you include this year. I wonder if they'll ever put it up for a vote. Give us a list of games and the one that gets the most votes is the next dl.

I wonder if anyone will be brave enough to see if they have any cousins or uncles in far away lands that like to play GTA 5.

I'm in this boat. I was going to buy Geometry Wars 2 on sale the other week but instead waited because it seems like that's a prime candidate for GWG in the near future. And I'm now thinking about GWG every time I see something on sale, and the likelihood that the game will go on it. If it seems like a real possible candidate, I won't pull the trigger.

Weird that GTAV JUST went live on GoD, but Rocksmith 2014 is supposed to be day 1 GoD on Tuesday. More reason to believe it when I see it. If it isn't, I'm gonna have to go to Target or WalMart first thing Tuesday morning.

Well to be fair MS did say day one digital on ALL XBox One titles. Not sure if the 360 will follow that same path on all titles considering sales will start to go down hill once the new systems roll out, with the exception of COD and what not.

I got RE Code Veronica X on sale for 400MSP not too long ago, so I prefer DR2.

Never thought about Geometry Wars 2 as a GWG candidate, I think that is more probable to see there Gears of War 1 or 2.

so reading the first post, Wolf Among Us season pass doesnt contain the first episode? That's kind of lame.
The price for the episode ($5) and season pass ($15) combined is only $20 vs. Steam selling the game with all episodes for $25 (no option to buy just 1 episode). I prefer having them separated, so people can get the first one for only $5 before deciding if they want to purchase the rest.

true. I was just excited at thinking I was saving $10 instead of $5. Lol

I'd imagine since they did all that banning they are closing the loopholes. I mean, it'd be ridiculous to know about it and still let it go on. Then just punish the people who exploit the loophole.

Although, I guess I wouldn't put it past them

Except MS has already stated that Indie games will not be handled in at all the same way on XBoxOne.
Actually, it's going to be WORSE on XbOne over the 360's interface, because indie-games will be intermixed with published games.

Look at the Win8.1 store now ... it's organized by popularity of downloads. Now search for an app called "Facebook", and you'll find 1000+ apps with "facebook" in the title or description. That's how they've already announced ... that the store will not be pre-sorted or managed by XBL, allowing indie-games to rise to the top if the "community" decides they're noteworthy. Coincidentally, sometimes excrement also floats in the toilet, because nothing keeps it down.

Edit: I lied. Cornelius, have I ever told you how much I love you? I "borrowed" your post, and the Rocksmith section looks much better now, thank you.
Awwww, I told you I'd have your back if I'm ever up late on Monday nights. :)

O ... M ... G ... I think wiki-functionality has been restored!

Tyler's been working with the site admin's to test wiki-functionality, and since late-Sept, it looks like it's working. I just tested thread compare now, and though it's not 100% like the pre-migrated site, it appears to be retaining & tracking edits. BobbyTastic, can you switch this thread over to wiki'fied, and see if the setting sticks?

I disagree. IMHO putting them in w/ the other ones will "bury" a lot of the indie titles that for some reason rise to the top of the indie lists even though they're a joke or not very good.

Instead what you'll see is indie devs starting to really look at filling niches where commercial games aren't, because say their crappy JRPG attempt won't even show up on the radar then (whereas it does so now because it's indie vs indie).

So I was about to migrate my xbox live account to a new one because I think someone gained access to my old hotmail account.  Turns out if you try to do that you are not allowed to bring the money on the old account over to the new one.  So I either need to spend $22 right now or hope that changing my passwords and such was enough.  Kind of blows.

Well I have to expect (read: hope) that they do away with XNE games on the Xbox One and are simply referring to indie games as anything by an independent developer and not what is currently categorized as "indie games" on the 360. Otherwise I can definitely see the problem with the Windows Marketplace you brought up happening to the Xbox Marketplace :whistle2:(

i'd suggest not changing your Microsoft Account right now. On the xbox live support forums there's alot of people that are stuck in limbo because of it. They get an error when they get to the final confirmation, and their gamertag doesn't fully transfer. So it goes away from the old account but doesn't move to the new one correctly. The support guys are still trying to find a solution. Not sure if it happens to everyone though.

So I was playing halo 3 a little while ago....45,000 people online.

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to wait since I am don't have anything I want to buy right now.

Check your vacation mode settings. Several years ago somebody got my Yahoo password. I kept changing it, but my account was still sending out spam. Turned out whoever had my account set up some kind of vacation settings. Whenever somebody sends you an email, it auto sends out spam that was set in the vacation settings.

Apparently I have 70$ in xbox live gold points that expires 11/20 (aka right before xbox one comes out)

Da eff am i going to buy with 70$ worth of points ?

Can I buy like Madden 25 digitally and then upgrade it to the xbox one or something ?

If you download games on 360 and delete them due to lack of hard drive space, can you later redownload them free?

do microsoft points convert to full price? ex. what would 800 msp equal to? $10 or is there a percent that msoft takes out?

Can't speak for US, but here in Italy 80 MSP have been converted to 1€, so there's a slight benefit (previously, 80 MSP amounted roughly to 0,75€).
Of course, being a CAG, you should've bought points at much less than their nominal value, so YMMV...

Someone on here gave me a 160pt code and it immediately said it added $2.00.

Bleh, why can't the Tomb Raider: Underworld DLC be on sale along with the game?

Does anyone know if they've ever put it on sale?

I will always buy points from websites like Amazon and Newegg until they no longer sell points. As a US resident with a Canadian migrated account, I spend $4.99 on 400 points, and I get $5.80. MOST of the content is the same price in Canada (Tomb Raider Underworld is on sale for $12.49 instead of $9.99, one of the rare exceptions), and I still don't get charged tax when I keep my account with a balance. When I do plan on migrating it again, I look forward to at least keeping it tax-free.

Bizarro Cheapy you don't get charged tax because youre account is in Canada, or because you use point cards? That would be sweet if we don't get charged tax if we use cards still.
Heres hoping the next two weeks bring some joyous sales. My backlog hasn't been fed since Gta5.

You're correct they're doing away with XNA, but that's merely an API set, and Win8/WinPhone/Xbox are compiled in the Win SDK instead now. By removing the notion of what's an indie-title, now that everyone can self-publish, I'm not relishing the thought of community-driven "star" ratings determining what floats to the top, rather than keeping half-baked submissions in a lower tier away from "premium" content. We get the same mess in Win8 & WinPhone, and MS has yet to make those catalogs any easier to find what you hoped.

Right now, you should go to http://xbox.com/proofs , and click on "Add a Microsoft account security proof" ... this will allow you to add 2-factor authentication to your account, as well as monitor which PC's have been deemed "secure" when accessing your account. Once you've trimmed the PC list down, and added your mobile phone as trusted, then you can change the password, and also verify the right name/address are listed for your account as additional identification should you need to prove yourself to MS support.

Bleh, that doesn't sound good. I seriously hope there are at least minimal quality standards (ie. your game wasn't made with MS Paint in an hour) to get on the store, but it doesn't sound like it. Not that it affects me as I wasn't planning to get an X1 anytime soon, but I feel that's a big downside to unifying the marketplace. Games like The Walking Dead deserve to be right next to Bioshock on the store; Don't Die Dateless Dummy, not so much.

Done. I'll check again in a few hours to see if it stays a Wiki.

Unrelated: So I just got a copy of Tropico 4 Gold as part of the B2G1 at Gamestop, and I noticed there's a million add-ons and that there's still some level of support for the game.

What I want to know is which add-ons are worth it in your opinion.

Only some of them have been on sale, a grand total of 1 time in December of last year.
