[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here[/url].

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

Don't know why people are surprised these sold out in a hour. They actually updated when most people expected and we all had advance notice.
Less than an hour. I mean come on dude, you don't think that's a little crazy? To underestimate demand that much? Most people are in school or working right now, not refreshing the Nintendo page. And, to basically drive up the reselling market when they could have filled the demand on their own?

I agree with this. Even the Kirby coin didnt go this fast. And to top it off there were 5 colors of this.

Maybe they will re add them, who knows. As long as I atleast get my yellow im happy. Wish I had went for White first though, had the page up and took too long

We get like one good thing a year with CN and those things are always gone in an instant even without everyone knowing when they're going to show up on the site in advance. Yeah it sucks but you had to have seen this coming as soon as they announced it.

Just curious has anyone ever had anything backordered on CN before?

Not sure if that means they over ordered or if I got in by glitch or something

I think we'll be ok. Its probably just there to give them more time to fulfill the wave of orders. As long as they took your coins and sent the confirmation email.

Got my order confirmation. Mine says preparing order. Only 500 coins was deducted and no other item in my order list. Happy! Order number is in the lower 1213XXX though. Wishong for the best.

Yep, I was working, by lunch the red and blue were all sold out. I'd love to have either.  :(

Hope they get some back in stock soon!

Wow had no idea these would go so fast.

I ordered the blue one when people first started posting they are available.

Says preparing order.

Edit: I actually use a grip for my XL that never comes off.. oh well will remove it just to charge it I guess lol, would be nice to get something from CN that I actually use.

Only one confirmation for me. Maybe I was too quick to get a glitched bonus (if that ends up being the case)? My order number was 1210XXX.

My brother was too slow to get the blue one so he didn't bother getting the white one for his wife while it was in stock. Nice guy..

Given the popularity of Club Nintendo and how much effort Nintendo puts forth... there probably wasn't many to begin with.

Filling demand costs them money, which is something they rather not spend on Club Nintendo. If they actually wanted to fill demand and push CN, then they would offer more stuff. What they're probably doing, is offering these things to the "most" loyal and the promise of possibly getting this or the golden nunchuk is enough for most people to fill out those surveys without Nintendo having to pay out much. For instance, I do every I2B and have 1,500+ coins. The only thing I ever bought was the medal, which is probably what Nintendo is hoping for. People give up or buy the cheapest prizes to minimize their cost and maximize their reward.

Well, we still don't know a lot about the Kirby medal. Like, I always wondered if the medal was actually limited to 1,000 (as in they sold 1,000 in the span of like 8 hours) or was it actually 333 or 334 that they sold in the 8 hours. The latter seems more likely, though we will probably never know. Either or, I wouldn't be surprised if there were less than 100 of each item and thats why they sold out so fast. Might be restocked, but this could be months and even then, Nintendo has a bad track record.

sold out in 45 minutes? nintendo is such a fail, we can't all be at our computer 24/7

The gold nunchuks actually lasted a full day

Really happy I got Yellow, and surprised that it was the last color to go. Looking at the better resolution picture, the Yellow seems to be more of a Goldenrod color:

3dsxl_cradle_yellow_big_1.jpg

Everything should be available at the lowest price ever to everyone in infinite quantity in perpetuity!
don't think anyone said that, lasting 12 hours-1 day would be acceptable, 45 minutes is a joke
What they SHOULD do, that is, assuming they're a company that actually wants to reward people... is simply open up preorders for a week and make enough to cover that many people. Then they can sell the remaining overs (because they're not going to make them 1:1) on the site normally till they run out. This would prevent bitching, give everyone a fair chance and prevent having excess stock.

As long as the order that took my points is fulfilled, I'll be ok.  If I get the one at zero, I'll definitely be that guy who puts it on eBay.  I'm shocked that people actually expected these to last long.  It's a new prize for a site that hasn't seen many updates to rewards in 5 years.  Look at how much has been out of stock and hasn't been restocked in ages.

One thing everyone needs to remember is that the Club Nintendo rewards are more like a giveaway at a football game - the first 1,000 number of fans get a Super Beer Helmet.  It isn't really a store.  They sold you a game/system/etc., so you got what you paid for kind of like you got into the football game for your ticket.  The Beer Helmet is extra.  Sure they could make them based on how many people want them, but they don't have this to satisfy every single person out there - there needs to be some sort of "Club" type thing about it, because it isn't a retail store.  They set aside a certain amount of money to make items they are giving out for "points" (ie: Free), and they ran out.  Now, of course they need to continue to generate interest so people keep filling out those surveys (I wonder exactly how much value they get out of our responses, I know "Cause I want it" isn't a very useful reason for a purchase, for example).  I would think they might do another run again soon, since there was a lot of interest, or they might even consider a retail release (or make the colors available on their store).  We all told them the cradle is popular, I hope they are listening.

And yes, I say this as someone that got them, but I have been on the "didn't get one" end of things for Club Nintendo before.

thought my order didn't go through initially. Then I got an e-mail saying it's prepping for shipment. Success.

The red 3DS XL cradle will look sexy on my Red 3DS XL system.

You know what? I ain't even mad no mo. Not like it mattered. Lmao.

Maybe they will surprise us with the Gold Nunchuck. Oh Yes! :D

I wouldn't even mind paying for the colored charging cradle.  Any chance they offer them on the site for the holidays?

tought that order did't go throug this morning, had to go to see my GF at work and i return to my home and the order went through yes!!!!! thanks Club nintendo.

They cancelled my extra green one and gave me back 500 coins, I hope they just don't screw up the original orders that're still in process, so they're likely going to restock with the mistake orders later I'd imagine.

I would say very little, but many of Nintendo's questions seem random and irrelevant. Like when they ask how you're going to play it. Generally if you're doing the I2B, you're planning on buying it (I mean, it's literally in the title of the survey) or want to bank the coins. When you consider you're not guaranteed coins with a preordered purchase and rentals won't get you one either, it seems like an irrelevant question for this type of program. Another odd one is asking if you bought the system for the game. Lets be fair here, how many times is that one going to be relevant? Maybe 3 - 5 depending on age, but thats about it. There is also the gift one, which suggests you might not have any reason for buying it (like an awesome CAG gave me a free copy of Mighty Switch Force 2 or whatever it was called). I never saw a trailer, played it or gave any sort of damn, yet I still had to fill out some sort of survey.

Though, I have no clue how they generate interest past people waiting the platinum / gold prize and are desperate to get anything else for free.

I'd rather have exclusive games offered like Japan's Platinum prize Advance Wars: Days of Ruin though if you're not platinum you can still get it for 800 coins which is too rich for my blood. Since they got a game that was never released in Japan maybe we'll see one that was never released in NA... Mother 3? Yeah right, I'm still wanting for that SNES controller as a CN prize.
I'd rather have the Mario pillow. That thing was awesome!

They canceled the 500 point one in my account and refunded the coins and are still preparing order on my zero coin one. I better not lose it.

I sent their customer support a message and they assured me I was getting the two I intended to buy, they did say I had 2 yellow instead of green and also said I had called earlier to cancel, which I didn't but I'm sure they'll make it alright.

I managed to order about 4-5 of every color except black across all my club Nintendo accounts. I finally got confirmation on all of them. Thanks Nintendo, to ebay I go!!

Totally kidding. I checked before going to work and things weren't up yet. I got to work, settled in, checked the site but it was down. Checked back a short time later and the cradles were in the sold out list lol. Some day I'll jettison the 1800 coins I am sitting on. I do like the previous posters idea of them having it up for preorder or at least putting some up across the day. I know they don't care about it though as it doesn't earn them any money to give away good products. If they do restock....it'll likely be a lot less units available put up at a random time/day. Oh well, I'm still dreaming of getting a golden nunchuck someday!
