I have the Avermedia Live Gamer Portable, but I want to check this device out to see how it handles my consoles + HDMI switcher. I JUST added the Elgato to my 'zon wishlist, too. Good price and picking up, in-store, today. Thanks!

Amazon matched the Elgato price, but given that it was a BB DOTD and is back to $180 on BB.com, I doubt the Amazon price will last long.

I might be the only one excited about Zumba being the DOTD as I was thinking of getting this for my sister for Xmas cause she loves these Zumba games. Thanks OP

Sarcasm: It's not for everyone. ;)
because sarcasm is so easy to catch from a lone sentence on a message board from a person I don't know :???:

it wouldnt surprise me that some people would think there would be a GOTY for a bigger game like this.

In my experience the Play & Charge Kit is more like the Play and WTF Won't My Battery Charge Anymore Kit.

Admittedly that was a few years ago.

Have they fixed it?

Cause I'm all about the rechargeable AAs these days.

Figured the transforming d-pad would have been on every 360 controller by now.  What gives, was it not that great of a concept?

this is the first time this entire generation I have hears of this issue. My two battery packs have kept my controllers going since 2008 with no hiccups...think you need to reevaluate dude.

I too have had trouble with those battery packs. I' ve lately just left the cable plugged in, since most of the time I don't need wireless.
The Rocketfish packs worked much better for me, but they stopped making those.

T he transforming d-pad controllers are nice, but I've had tons of problems with the crappy MS battery packs for years. Eneloop & Amazon Basics rechargeable batteries have fixed this issue for me.

How much better is the d-pad on the transforming d-pad controller? Does it make it not suck for games like Spelunky? Now that I am use to the great PS3 and Vita d-pad, trying to play Spelunky on 360 is a royal pain in comparison. The Xbox d-pad is so incredibly terrible. But I want the achievements! :) So I need a controller with a much better d-pad.

D-pad isn't amazing, but a LOT better than the original stock d-pad, which as we all know is terrible. $40 is about as good as it gets for this set (new model controller + play & charge kit), I don't see these getting clearanced out any time soon - grab it if you want it.

I really want one, but $40 is still too much for a controller IMO. I also feel like I'm uselessly paying extra for the crappy Play and Charge cable. Drop it to $30 and remove the cable and I'd be in for 1-2.

As a side note to anyone who's ever had problems with the rechargeable batteries... Stop using the crappy P&C cable and use something else like the Quick Charge kit. Those cables have terrible build quality and often go into a state where they power the controller but don't actually recharge the battery. Changing to something else fixes 80% of the problems.

Or use eneloops.

I use the ancient energizer 360 charge station, will charge these rechargeable packs and regular rechargeable AA's in the controllers.  Works well.

The d-pad is a lot better.  Worth it to try if you need to replace an older worn out controller anyways.  There are other styles available without the battery and play charge cable, like Camo and Silver, but they have been around the same price on sale.

It looks like the Camo is $35 on BF at BB.  I really feel like $30 is the most I should pay for a controller at this point.

I'm debating getting this and putting it on top of my 'to play' list...just let a buddy know about it and they are getting it so I can borrow his disc to get the DLC but man the download codes are 15 bucks and used vanillas are 20 still. Decisions, decisions...

Since I was planning on getting Skyrim Legendary Edition at Gamestop on Black Friday for $29.99, this was good timing. I could wait a few more months for it to drop lower, but I've waited long enough (the vanilla game's been out two years). I had a $5 reward certificate waiting to be used, and I didn't have any credit at Gamestop or Amazon, so that helped me make the decision.

20% off new games with gamers club? Really?
AFAIK that is only with the new "Deluxe" Gamers Club Unlocked version. Not the $14.99/year one, but the $119.99 one (in the bundle in the link below it's discounted to "only" $54.00, but the bundle is a bit pricey). Apparently it just kicked in a couple of weeks ago (about the time you posted, actually).

If they don't have a $14.99 option any longer (and I couldn't find it on the website), my hunch is that "old" GCU memberships do not apply to the 20% off new games benefit. If someone can find evidence that it does, let me know.
