Yeah, an updated version - we've currently got version 1.3.2 on Desura/IGS/Humble Store, and are trying to get v4 greenlit - plenty of new stuff, like special attacks and that big moth boss that's shown in the video. And... yeah, resolution and controller support as well.
We won't make a sequel to Frogatto - any continuation to the story is going to be added to it as updates. Then again, we're actually improving things on the middle of the game instead of adding stuff after the final boss, anyway. Not that we'd be against that, either.
That sounds great, but might I ask why you haven't pushed out that (or at least a slightly more recent) build to the other places? Obviously it's smart to advertise new stuff coming for the Steam version, but I'd think the resolution and controller improvements would be worth adding even before you get greenlit.

Backporting that from v4 to 1.3.x isn't simple as we've moved from SDL 1.2 to 2.0 to handle windows, controllers, etc. So fixing this for older versions would mean working things out to do the same fix twice - so we didn't want to slow down the creation of content of the new version for that.

Hi! a Frogatto dev here.

Well, you can get it early and wait until we're on Steam, and then play the next version with full resolution and controller support.
(And two new bosses and whatnot)
Hi, village idiot here. :dunce:

Can you make a game about Burgers, Bacon, and Moonshine?

oh, and welcome to the land of the backlogs CAGs. ;)

...lolwut
We could well add a burger as a prop (decoration) in one of the levels, yes...

Moonshine will have to be for a next (more serious, darker) game, that may happen in the coming years. (We're kinda slow, having day jobs and whatnot)

Don't mind sunasun.  His top items to survive each day are oxygen, burgers, bacon and moonshine.  *Not necessarily in that order.

what nero5i5 meant to say is, "Sunasun is batshit crazy"

but sweet on the burger prop

ran out of likes for the day, otherwise i would've liked the shit out of this.

Thanks for the reply marcavis. Sounds good. Decided to pick the game up on IGS.

And of course, I upvoted it on steam. Looks like a game that's likely to get greenlit (especially at the rate that they've been greenlighting things lately), so I look forward to the eventual release on steam.

yeah, who knew?
a lot of funny ass shit posted in the last 24 hours, so i ran out :(

So you gonna tell me what the limit is, or do I have to withhold your bacon rations?

Updated OP for new deal: Operation Smash

Looks like old-school fun, sort of like Cave Story, works on Linux (according to Desura), bought & backloggered. Coming to a bundle near you next week...

Damn. I need to know which threads you're finding enough comedy in to burn through your likes so quickly. I know there's a number of good posters, but it seems like I'm always liking posts by the same crowd....

I think everyone should watch this:

Best quicklook host ever.
Lol. "What. Whoah. Go." I heard him say this, and wasn't at all sure how to respond.

anything about pancake nipples will make me laugh ;)

Updated OP for new deal: Full Bore

Looks like my kind of game, but I've spent too much on games the last couple of weeks...

I'd buy this, but it's probably coming to a Groupees bundle soon enough anyway. It was added to the Groupees Greenlight Collection page recently. I'm gonna resist buying anything from IGS from now on, around 90% of the games featured on it get bundled later.

I've actually played some of this and like it a lot. It's kinda like Spelunky if you stripped away the rogue like elements (randomly generated, extremely difficult, etc.) in favor of Blocks That Matter like puzzles. The only thing bad I really have to say about it is that it doesn't do a great job of telling you where or what to do, so you have to figure everything out for yourself (I'm stuck at the moment with no idea where to go). Otherwise though it's pretty cool and I think definitely worth at least a buck (I'm sure it will be bundled eventually, but the same can be said of most everything) ^_^

While it's true you can say that for anything, the Groupees Greenlight Collection is pretty damn accurate for what you can count on to be in Groupees bundles, it's designed for that. Some stuff (like kickstarter games, or unfinished games) would be exceptions though.

Full Bore: The First Dig

The First Dig is part one of the Full Bore saga, a 6~8+ hour puzzle adventure that
you can finish when Part Two is added on later this year. You'll get both parts of the game regardless of where you buy it or for how much!

spoderman, does that last thing apply to IGS buyers?

Well I was going to cave until that obscene bloke spoder chimed in with the Groupees tidbit of info.  I'll wait until it shows up there, but otherwise this type of game is kooky enough to earn a place in on the Fox backlog.

I'm not sure if that's a good way to define a platformer.. There are some underwater platformers where you can't jump.
True, but in this case there really isn't any platforming to speak of (unless we count going up stairs platforming now). It's a sidescrolling block puzzle game, which shares some similarities to puzzle platformers but doesn't warrant being called one. Also:

platformer

  1. A platform game is a video game which involves guiding an avatar to jump between suspended platforms, over obstacles, or both to advance the game.

Sounds like a description of Dear Esther

You ought to know by now that these things don't come free. Every time a game Spoder wants shows up in a bundle, there's a favor being done to Johnny for it. I'm sure he could work something out for Grave Digger if you're prepared to grease the hinges, so to speak ;)
haw u no dis. i tot it wuz sekret

I saw this when it was being Kickstarted, and considered it, but didn't pledge at the time. When it dropped down to $5 or so in the Not On Steam sale, i picked it up. Now I could have gotten it for $1.50, including the soundtrack. Plus, it's likely to be in a Groupee per Spoder. Almost makes me not want to try to help and support people.

Oh well, such is life.

It'll be .75 if it hits a BAB doe, and it would have to be in the $1 tier of a standard Groupees to be cheaper.

My valid point doesn't pertain to you but, for people on the fence (if you will), it's super fucking valid.

That's true, but the more you buy in a BAB, the cheaper the games are in it.. usually. So it'd probably be cheaper than 75 cents if you buy 4+ games.

I almost always do, or I buy the $4-5 tiers, so it makes IGS cost a bit more for me in the long run. For anyone else, IGS is a good deal.

Hopefully you guys took my advice and passed on Full Bore.. because it's already bundled.

To be fair, the only other game that I'm remotely interested in that bundle is Plush. So at $1.30/each I'm still ahead

by $0.30 buying from IGS and regarding Plush: being a middle aged man I prefer playing with my stuffed animals for realz, not some simulation....right, Captain Fluff-n-Stuff?

wut?

Edit: There is a slider under the cost on the IndieMeadow site (wow...that page is...um...yeah) and you can pick up the bundle for around $1.35. IGS does have a Desura key, though...and cookies.
