This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Papers, Please is only 50% off :(

Dark Souls PTD Edition for 80% off is tempting but I'll pass. Plus it was an Amazon sale for around the same price recently?

Best deal is System Shock 2 for 75% off but I already got it for that price!

Nothing for me right now.

Flash Sales: UTC: 6PM 28/11 - 2AM 29/11.

Sanctum 2 (-80%) $14.99 $2.99 ... 4pk: (-80%) $44.99 $8.99

⤷ All DLC also 80% off.

Skullgirls (-50%) $14.99 $7.49 ... 2pk: (-50%) $24.99 $12.49 ... 4pk: (-50%) $44.99 $22.49

⤷ Squigly $4.99

⤷ Color Palette Bundle (-50%) $4.99 $2.49

Killing Floor (-75%) $19.99 $4.99 ... 6pk: (-75%) $99.95 $24.98

⤷ All DLC only 50% off individually.

System Shock 2 (-75%) $9.99 $2.49

I know only 50% off is weak. The CAG in me has to wait on that. But yea I also got system shock 2 for that price. And yes amazon was same price!

It's showing the same $29.99 as the Best Buy match for me...

EDIT: I went to Amazon's Black Friday page and accessed it through there.  The $24.99 price does show up that way.

If anyone's on the fence for something, and acknowledging that we'll supposedly see the same prices in the Winter Sale, this may be worth considering. During the Summer Sale, there were bonuses granted for hitting $10 thresholds in dollars spent. If they repeat this incentive next month, anything that you backlog now might be better backlogged in another thirty days.
Excellent point. I'm probably sitting out this sale, as I was hoping there'd at least be some kind of Steam-tie-in like cards or whatnot.

On the right side of the product page, it should have the lightning deal price and regular price available to select.

This may be a dumb question, but where are people voting? I don't see any references to voting on the Steam page.
Where did you see mention of voting? If you're talking about the Sims/BF BC2 thing, that was a poll on Origin a couple of days ago.

Aw crap... that's what won?? I voted for Sims Pets, personally. I would have bought FIFA as well.

BF BC2 is not a bad singleplayer experience... I've just had it forever on Steam.
I'm not sure where they are voting, I just saw mention of it earlier in the thread.

Edit: You answered my question, thank you.

Crap, forgot about being outside limited free Squigly window, ah well at least there's now no longer any temptation to bite and I'll just wait for the update to the 360 version that may one day, possibly, eventually get released...

New Humble weekly is pretty disappointing:

$1:
Jamestown
Closure
S.P.A.Z.
Shatter

"BTA":
Dungeon Defenders
Defense Grid Gold

(All are for Steam.)

Dark Souls is region-locked.

I tried it on the kitchen, bedroom and livingroom. Worked 100%. Don't know what lock are you talking about xD

It has been already included in HiB6 and IG Summertide. In fact, all the games are repeats from other bundles.

No but seriously, what is this? The "leftover Steam keys we found in the couch cushions" bundle?

Solid bundle in my mind, just lacking some bonus DLC for Jamestown and DD.
If by some bizarre chance you don't already have the $1 tier games, then that's a pretty good tier. The $6 tier, though, is poor in comparison (I'd even go so far as to say that it's terrible if Dungeon Defenders is sans-DLC.)

At least it's entirely repeats!

The Elder Scrolls Anthology is currently $24.99 as a lightning deal. Sorry if already posted.

Edit: May have to access from lightning deals to get the correct price.
Thanks for the heads up on this, still was active about 45 minutes later. Showed up via your link with two prices, regular and lightning.

Was having a hard time talking myself out of the Anthology when it was $29.99. Probably would have been able to talk myself out of this one too, if it wasn't for those damned GOG sales a couple weeks ago weakening my already tenuous impulse control.

Just fought to get my $34.99 order from last night reimbursed to $29.99 where it was listed this morning (BB pricematch). The lightning deal wasn't on the calendar earlier. Amazon is really starting to piss me off with this stuff. If you have a deals calendar put this stuff on it so we can make informed choices instead of screwing over people who just bought what you've been advertising as your BF deal for a week. I guess I'll just suck it up and forget about the $5.

So far I've grabbed Gone Home which I hope to play in the next month.

And the fact that Valve is saying they would run the same sales for the Winter Sale was in the exact same email that was leaked also mentioning the dates of those sales (to which Valve still held too) gives use proof that it's safe to assume they will follow through with pricing the Winter Sale the same as the Autumn Sale, but with the possibility of "extras" to differentiate the sales from each other. I think I will jump on Assassin's Creed 3 Deluxe from Amazon though, since there are $5 credits to be had that way for their January EC sale. Last year I got like 12 games for free and gave out in the thread, might do something similar this year depending on amount of credits.

Dammit, I decided against dark souls from amazon but now I'm reconsidering. Can't decide! Do the controls feel clunky and outdated, considering its a Japanese game? That sound effect when you open or change menus is annoying as hell, not sure I could deal with that.

In a way, yes, although that's more the game's slow/deliberate attack/defend style so it's an intentional design decision.

Hm, I'm tempted to purchase Papers, Please.  I know it's only 50% off but I've heard great things about this game.  However, it seems similar to Cart Life, which also garnered similar praise and which I absolutely hated playing.  Has anyone played Papers and have any comments?

There should still be a free demo. Just not on Steam.

I played the beta, and while I thought it was brilliant, I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. If the idea of a game that is going to make you stressed/depressed as you have to split up families, deal with suicide bombers, and try to keep your family alive doesn't sound like something you'd care to play, then it's probably not for you. Personally I thought what I played was very original and well designed, which is something I greatly appreciate with games even if actually playing them doesn't constitute "fun".

I actually didn't find it all that stressful. Almost everything in Papers Please is a bit more darkly humorous than truly depressing partly because you can help no small quantity of people if you play the game smart. Even the times where you can die, it's generally LOL WHOOPS IM IN THE SOVIET UNION SHOULDNT HAVE DONE THAT.

There's a certain charm to the limited desk space and constant shuffling of papers.

What are the odds that Don't Starve and/or Outlast show up in a Humble bundle in the next 6 months or so?
I'd be pretty shocked if one of them didn't. W/any indie game, unless it's an epic sales glitch, never ever buy it unless you plan on playing it pretty freakin soon. All video games will meet their lowest ever sales prices again at some point, and between gamersgate/amazon/gmg/gamefly/steam, it may meet that price 5-10 times in a year, so it's not like you'll have to wait long.

To sum up: Only buy indie games if it's a price you don't mind paying and you plan on playing it very very soon. You just never know what's gonna show up in humble bundle and when it will happen.

Don't Starve seems like it hasn't lost much momentum yet and it's price hasn't dropped drastically over the past few sales. Usually we view a game hitting 75% off as portents of impending bundledom. I doubt we'll see Outlast in a bundle until another batch of Halloween bundles arise late next year.

That being said, the "rules" for bundle fodder have been thrown out with the bad rats. Don't Starve is an in-demand title that would definitely push sales, so we easily could see it paired together with SPAZ, Bastion, Magicka, and Hacker Evolution DLC.

Follow pasport57234's advice. Buy it if you immediately want to play it.

I have way too many games in the backlog from BF sales already, think I'll wait these two out. Thanks guys!

(Unless someone wants to trade a Batman Arkham Asylum key for a Don't Starve key ... received an extra one from WB after already picking up the bundle ;) )
