I was about to disagree with you and argue logic, but then I remember Nintendo does not operate on logic.

To me, it seems they'd secure sales if they actually did create some kind of cross-play thing. I'd imagine that's one reason Sony did it, to get Vita sales, and Nintendo needs to do something to get Wii U sales. I love Nintendo, but (here it comes) their strategy of releasing a system with no good games, then trickling them out a year later and expecting success annoys me. I still think they just got lucky with the 3DS. These systems should be launching with new Mario and Zelda games if Nintendo wants to really go turbo. 3DS had a rough, rough launch and an awful first year. You'd think they'd have learned from that.
Oh well. Sorry. I rant because I care.
