Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

That's not delivering as many hits as some combos in Killer Instinct.

Nobody got time for trying to decipher Tebonics.

Not even me anymore.

The only games that I can remember beating in 2013:

- Bioshock Infinite

I also completed Indie Game: The Movie, but that's obviously not a game....

Here's my list of game-playing for the year...

Games I beat for the first time in 2013:

-Baldur's Gate EE

-Batman Arkham City

-Ben There, Dan That!

-Bioshock Infinite

-Borderlands 2

-Cave Story +

-Comic Jumper: The Adventures of Captain Smiley (probably the worst game I played this year)

-Demon's Souls

-F.E.A.R.

-Fallout: New Vegas

-Fez

-Half Life 1

-Kirby's Return to Dreamland

-Mass Effect 3

-McPixel

-Metroid Prime 1

-Metroid Prime 2

-Papo & Yo

-Super Mario Galaxy

-The Maw

-The Walking Dead (telltale)

-The Witcher 1

-Time, Gentlemen, Please!

-Torchlight 2

-Xcom: Enemy Unknown

Replays:

-Dark Souls

-Dragon Age: Origins

-Fallout 3

-Half Life 2

-Mass Effect 1

-Mass Effect 2

-Elder Scrolls: Oblivion

-Elder Scrolls: Skyrim

Games I spent a lot of time on, but didn't beat (all roguelikes):

-Binding of Isaac

-FTL

-Spelunky

Game that can't be beat but I spent 30 hours on:

Pinball FX 2

Tebow's form of drm is that you must be fluent in tebonics to be able to play any games you buy
The Ultima games actually had an old pre-internet era form of DRM where you had to answer some questions early on that involved you having to pull out stuff in the physical box like the map. If you didn't answer right then all the NPCs in the game would start speaking gibberish and you'd be screwed.

Completed games just doesn't tell the whole story.  Need to add lines for backlogged, idled & "started, found a deal on something else, got distracted, never went back to" games.  Mine is a tale of woe, so I'll spare you all and just wish a Happy New Year.

My completed games is pathetic. I don't even think I beat a Steam game all year.

360:
Far Cry 3
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
Grand Theft Auto V
Mass Effect 2 (Replay)
Sleeping Dogs

PS3:
Bioshock Infinite
Call of Duty: Ghosts
The Last of Us

lololol u such a loser u no beat a ton of gamez

Oh hell, I have no concrete idea which games I completed in 2013 besides a few handfuls of games to be honest. Kudos to those who can keep track better than I did. Off the top of my head...

[customspoiler='My Weaksauce 2013 Completion List (PC Only)']140
Hotline Miami
Trapped Dead
A.R.E.S.
Bleed
Cave Story+
Deadlight
DLC Quest
Eversion
Wake
Lunnye Devitsy
FTL
10,000,000
Luxor Evolved
Metro Last Light
BioShock Infinite
Tomb Raider
Trine 2 + DLC
Crysis 2
Dead Space 2[/customspoiler]

The one thing I do know is my ratio for buying games to completing games this year was easily ~19:1 (no joke, ~255 turned into 639!). Thanks a lot CAG-land. Thanks a FREAKING-FETCHING lot! :whee:

Edit: For the most part anyway.

I highly recommend XCOM: Enemy Within. I've only had a bit of time with it but it feels like a pseudo sequel rather than just an expansion. So much so that if you've never played/bought Enemy Unknown then just get both and play Enemy Within when it asks on startup. It's the same old Enemy Unknown but also totally different with more stuff, more depth, more refinement, and more polish.

I've very happy with spending that $10 for sure.

edit: Forgot the link for the Demo in case someone hadn't played XCOM: Enemy Unknown at all.

My 2013 Completed Games:

Papo Y Yo

Go Home Dinosaurs
I'm glad I'm not the only one with a paltry Complete List. I'll post one in a bit, but it's pretty tiny compared to some I've seen so far.

I feel like the ADD Gamer. My attention span for games is minute. Plus I also tend to get caught up in games that are more or less endless (multiplayer, arcade/puzzlers).

Apparently Deadpool has been removed from Steam
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

GTA V is the only major story driven game I finished this year.  Only others that I would consider "completed" this year: Cognition, Fortix, and Pickers.

 I hate finishing games.

Apparently Deadpool has been removed from Steam
London 2012: The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games got removed as well.

Super Meat Boy and Binding of Isaac soundtrack dlc also not available anymore which is a shame because the ost is really nice.

Yeah, same right here. I forgot I finished Dead Island on PS3, but I do tend to play a few minutes of a ton of games. Or get sucked into say 20-40 hours of Minecraft. I haven't finished my sandstone pyramid there either.

if i added up all the games i played for 1-10 hours but didn't finish, i'd probably have been able to finish another 3 or 4 games of moderate length

I just grabbed Deadpool from Gamefly.

fuck ACTIVISION.

Edit: Oh boy, purchase under review. WHY NOW.

Email from Gamefly: "Hi! I'm a dumb machine and don't know if you're trying to scam us. Please call us or write back to verify your purchase."

Me: "I'm a real person, I paid eight bucks. Can I have my game key?"

I bought it, too. Why? I don't know!
No, see, I WAS going to buy it. But I figured the game wouldn't be taken down anytime soon. So I had to pull the trigger. Dammit. Thank god I had a bit of spare cash...

Looks like I'll never get Merc With A Map Pack now. WTF the games only 6 months old. Damn you Disney.

Something like that, if CAG is our diary and the internet is our heart shaped lock for protecting our secrets. Here, I found the key:

^_^ Thanks. ...smacks of effort, -pass- ;)

Razer has some software meant to emulate surround sound on regular headphones. It is donate what you want to Child's Play (MSRP $19.99):

http://www.razerzone.com/surround/donate-and-download

It's probably been posted before, but I just DLed and tested it and it actually works pretty well. Pleasantly surprised.
I can't speak for this software in particular, but all of these work though use of a generalized HRTF. (I have my own measured HRTF.) The basic principal is that spatial sound perception is not just time delay but a (frequency) filter caused by sound wrapping around your head (and body to a lesser extent). Dolby Axon uses this to great effect in their Ventrillo/Teamspeak competitor... being able to separate people audio-spatially... now if we only could have gotten WoW hooks so that those positions would be the same as toons in a WoW raid...

Also NASA studies have shown that some people have very poor spatial hearing (due to poor HRTFs, due to their head/ear shape)... these people cannot easily learn spatial hearing through a good HRTF.

That's happened to me a few times. Payment has always just gone through automatically for me after waiting several minutes to an hour. This has been with CC and PayPal.

I bought Deadpool from gamefly despite the negative critic reviews and the positive reviews from users named FlossN. The only reason I purchased it is because it's not available on steam anymore. Passed on getting it from amazon, because I have enough coupons from Darksiders DLC- thanks Mooby.

I don't know if they are flagging this game in particular for some reason or what but I have bought from Gamefly many, many times and never got purchase under review until I bought Deadpool.

I placed the order last night and had the order approved and the code emailed to me first thing in the morning. YMMV, especially with New Year's being a holiday but I'm pretty sure it will go through eventually.

For a one megabyte download it sure does take a long time to install. I hope it's not secretly deleting my files or installing AOL or something.

Man, I'm so bummed that Ys doesn't have cards.  Now I'm gonna spend days having fun instead of grinding.

It might be one of those programs where you DL a smaller shell file initially then it DLs the rest during install? It didn't do anything weird to my computer.

Also, I will buy Deadpool once it gets relisted and hits $5.

Delisting something is the best way for Activision to sell a crapload of copies no one would have bought otherwise.
