This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Nowadays? There will be only two arcade games released for the whole month of January I believe (Assassin's Creed Liberation & Rekoil). February has none. At least none that were announced in advance. Sad!

Btw, I know exactly what you meant by your statement, so no need to explain. ;)
But you can watch TV on your... TV.

I have fc2, 3 and blood dragon already. Instincts came out on regular Xbox. Instincts evolution was both old Xbox games in HD. they are supposed to be console versions of far cry 1 but not open world. If they are good I'd try them but I'm curious to see if the original far cry will be standalone.
So is there a story behind that avatar of yours?

XBLA releases are winding down that fast? That's a shame since it's not like Xbox One is off to a roaring start for those types of releases.

FarCry Classic comes 02/12 for £7.99, but yeah XBLA is pretty much dead.

Just read about Wallace and Gromit delisting from Xbox Store. Man, they should have offered these at crazy low price during Christmas sale. ;/
W&G got delisted? Damn. I would have bought them. Are they still available on PC/Steam?

I bought Spec Ops and still have some $$$ left over. Was thinking about BioShock, but I'm going to get the sequel and Minerva's Den instead.

May just have to splurge and get all of it!

Trying to work my way through my growing backlog, but I think I'll have to grab Bioshock 1 & 2 along with Minerva's Den, just because of the reviews everyone is giving it on here. I can wait for Far Cry 3 to drop further in price. Still have to start Dark Souls & Metal Gear Rising.....probably time to start pining everything I have to play
You should probably leave Dark Souls for last, o r you won't be playing anything else for a while.

For those that may be interested, CrazyGameTime.com is offering an extra-bonus discount on their MS$ cards--an extra 5% off as long as you have at least two cards in your cart (eg. you can add a third card, a fourth, a fifth, et al.) you still get that extra %-off their discounted currency, with the code "BUY2".

You can thank Zolttt on SD for noticing/posting about the promo code. I picked up $60 worth of $20 cards (that's three if anyone needs help with that) and it came to just under $50; I got the codes in fifteen or so minutes and redeemed them with no problems, just after I posted on that thread someone commented they "ordered $100 worth - $25 worth of the codes didn't work." I've seen this happen with CGT, but it seems rare and they do always seem to rectify any issues (from what I've seen second-hand at least).

The 360 version of Halo: Spartan Assault is also due this month; who knows if that'll still happen, though.

And yeah, XBLA is dead. Fun fact: There have been more games delisted from XBLA in the last month than have been released.

Glad I waited on Spec Ops, just made a last stop at my local bbv and found a gutted copy at 80% off for $4. Just a heads up for anyone with a bbv nearby.

I doubt it, there's barely any games coming out, let alone digital for the next few months. Even XBLA starts ramping up around end of february/early March.

I can't see the 360 being killed off so soon, the user base is huge compared to the 3 million for the Xbox One.

The userbase is huge, but besides Minecraft, things are definitely slowing down for XBLA. It's not just because it's the slow time of year. I think the shift to next-gen probably has a lot to do with it.

XBLA games released since November 22 to today, January 10: 2 (The Raven and The Walking Dead Season 2)

XBLA games released in the same period last year: 9 (12 if you include the Kinect Sports Gems games which technically are XBLA titles)

And the same period in the year before that: 9

And the year before that: 13

Things will pick up in the weeks ahead but the platform isn't what it used to be. There's just not a whole lot left on the horizon, and several of the higher-profile titles like Trials Fusion and Super TIME Force will also launch on the Xbox One.

Already delisted from Steam as well, but GOG currently has for $2.99.
Thanks for sharing!

I purchased all of the Wallace and Gromit games at full price on XBLA when they first came out. Getting the whole series on the PC for $3 is a bargain for sure :)

I think you guys are too quick to call XBLA dead. But that's not important, what is important is me complaining about the new Teen Wolf ad on the dashboard.

I don't think it's possible to come up with a more generic ad. If they removed 'Teen Wolf ' from the description you wouldn't have a clue what the show is about.

XBLA isn't dead, It's just more companies are probably moving to the PC/XB1/PS4 development line. Supposedly super easy to port between those 3 systems. Most of the games coming out now have probably been in long development for the 360/PS3 already. Though I'm sure plenty of companies will look at the install base and still only come to the 360/PS3.

Super Time Force is coming out for both systems... eventually.

Are the two sleeping dogs dlc on sale good? I'd pick them just for completition (I started the game and liked it but i stopped because bully is too good :( )

Just finished BioShock Infinite recently and am looking at the DLC, has the season pass ever been on sale? i might just bite the bullet and get it since Burial at Sea Episode 2 will be about $15.

I bought Alan Wake when it was like 80% off but now the dashboard says I have to buy it again (and it's still in my dl history), was does it mean? They upped a new version? I remember it did the same thing with Bully a few months ago

I'm also having a problem the GonD Alan Wake. About a week ago I tried to redownload it, but in it's games section it showed a price instead of the option to redownload it. Clicking on the price asked to confirm the purchase, so I stopped there. I decided to wait until my balance was less than the $20 it costs to buy the game, and I will try to start the download from my download history.

My balance is now under $20, but I haven't tried downloading it yet. I'm going to eventually do it through my download history; if I now try to do it through the games section it tells me to add a payment option.

Just bit on Bioshock for $5.  Played through it on a roommate's xbox back in college but I can't turn down revisiting it for so cheap.  Especially after catching the AGDQ marathon of it this past weekend.

Debating pulling the trigger on Far Cry Instincts and 2, along with the new XCOM...

Damn Cheap Ass Gamers spend some serious dollars though......I think I have 60 games in my backlog because my addiction to deals even beats my addiction to gaming =P~

Bioshock rocks if you are on the fence.....and Sleeping Dogs is all kinds of fun so don't pass up that free ride.

FCIP is an older style shooter, which I prefer to the newer shooters. Singleplayer is ok, but it really shines in multiplayer. The community has created their own game modes and maps that is unique to the game. Even zombies (or xombies) is nothing like any other game.
There is no official Xombies game mode, so the community made one much like Halo 2. Pick a community made Xombie map and choose the FFA game type. No using party chat (wasn't even a thing when we played) Before the match starts, one person is chosen to be the alpha xombie. They can only use their knife to kill other players and must wait 1 minute before moving. Usually they shoot all their ammo so only their knife is out. The in-game voice chat is probably my favorite part. You can only hear players that are near you and everybody spawns spread out on the map, so the first thing players usually do is find each other. If you die in any way, you become a xombie. Suicide, friendly fire, or killed by a xombie, you become one. To keep players from camping one spot, ammo and medkits are on opposite sides of the map. All Xombie maps are designed this way and I love it. You have to work together, know when to move out, use ammo wisely, and know the map well.

Tremors is another community game mode.
There is an official game mode where one or a few players are a mutant super soldier or predator. When they attack, they lunge towards you. People found a glitch that can get a player under the map. From under the map, the predator can only lunge at (and maybe see? don't remember) people that are on the ground. You would have to quickly get back to high ground if you hit the ground.

There are more than these, but these ones come to mind as good quick examples. Obstacle courses are also great and take advantage of glitches in the game.

Sadly the multiplayer community is hard to find now that the game is nearly 8 years old. People still make maps for it, but rarely. There were only 5 uploaded to FC Maps in the past year. It's the first 360 game with a easy to use yet hard to master map maker that allowed you to do crazy stuff. The only other map makers that are better are from the sequels (until Project Spark). I wouldn't mind sharing some maps if anybody wants to play multiplayer
Send FR to Bob101910 RFP with a message saying you are from CAG to play FCIP
. I'm always looking for an excuse to play and all my friends already played every map I have. I might get some maps from fcmaps.net, but honestly I'm a little afraid of getting banned for using game saves.

I don't know if you can tell, but Far Cry Instinct Predator is my favorite 360 game of all time (maybe favorite game on anything), so all of this is very bias.

FC2 is good as well. They messed up by trying to add too much realism to the game which made it less fun and frustrating in singleplayer and sometimes in multiplayer. I think it is worth it just for how you heal.

Bought Blood Dragon and played it all the way through. I enjoyed it more for the nostalgia factor of the 80s than the repetitive gameplay. Should I hold off on getting Farcry 3 as I have never played that or is it dramatically different gameplay?

Also no matter how bad Duke Nukem Forever is, is it a steal at 4.99?

I have Bioshock 2 sitting on my shelf unplayed in my backlog... Debating getting Bioshock digital to play it first before I play the second one.

If you're interested in Duke Nukem, might as well find a copy at GameStop as it's cheaper and you save hard drive space.

I got Duke for free from a friend and felt like I paid too much

Bioshock rocks, the story was awesome.

FC3 is similar to Blood Dragon, but more RPGish. Leveling up has skill trees that you can choose your upgrade path. You'll eventually be able to unlock all of the upgrades. There's also a crafting system that increases stuff like inventory size or how much ammo you can carry. Gameplay is similar to Blood Dragon, but without being a super soldier cyborg. $15 is a good price for it, but disc has been on sale for slightly cheaper. Both games have easy 1,000 Gamerscore.

The gameplay is quite similar between FC3 and Blood Dragon. Pretty much exactly the same actually.

I actually prefer BS2 but the series is worth playing in order.

Thanks for advice as always guys. I also might hold off on Enemy Within as well that seems like something I might go physical since I own the original on the disc.

Super Time Force is coming out for both systems... eventually.
It's pretty much dead and as you say many are moving to PC/XB1/PS4 development, while the xbla versions are getting delayed or cancelled. Some cancelled titles from last couple of months - Vessel, Abe’s Oddysee New N’ Tasty, Crimson Dragon, Walter, Hunting the Abyss: Depth Hunter 2, Galactic Reign. Also XBLA versions of Max: Curse of Brotherhod, Super Time Force and some others are finished last year, yet we still don't know if they will be ever released.

It's pity MS killed the platform that fast.

Welp It's both good and bad. MS probably wanted more XB1 launch goodness, and having Max come out there in December helped booster It's lineup vs the PS4.

Nah, MS killing the 360 fast? Brah, did you own a original XBox? I bought that shit near launch, and when the 360 came out MS killed that faster then a spider out on the open floor.

MS lost money on each original XBox unit sold. With the 360 they are still profiting off the system along with XBox Live membership and what not, so I still see the 360 hardware for years to come. Especially in the US.

I still don't see MS porting Fable Anniversary to the X1 yet either.
