F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, generally like new items.

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes, All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken

I'm waiting for a 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and almost in perfect condition. Any game i have personally ever bought has in like new condition. However, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

Honestly (in general) I think all this talk about what is a dinger and what is a trade in or whatever is impossible to judge.

I ordered a VG Xbone COD ghosts hardened the other day that everyone said WASNT a dinger, yet it came in mint condition with all codes unused and nothing missing at all.

To me it looked like a dinger, and based on the codes I would think it was a dinger... It could have been a trade in and I was lucky on the codes, but honestly it just continues to make me believe that it's all a gamble on AWD.
Depends on the time frame from release. The longer it has been since release the less chance of it being new in damaged packaging. In this case the description is in accordance with trade in description as in "Cleaning and repair was done as required. Game data from previous use may be present, but can be overwritten or deleted." The game could still be complete and in mint condition but that boils down to the sender and the grader. Hence the ymmv tag.

Oh and I totally agree with that statement. Obviously a game that's been out for a few weeks to a few months has the bigger chance at being a dinger.

I just hardly see anything that says "game data from previous May be present". I must just be looking at all the right games haha.

Well like DS2U said there's standard boilerplate description on most items and that's not what we're looking for when trying to decide what's worth gambling on.

Definitely not a dinger but a possible trade in going by description so by that account ymmv. If you feel comfortable spending a bit more then by all means jump for the new one.
does the new one guarantee a cd? I thought it might have been only a limited number of the initial release had sound tracks

It seems that all of them that are out there are first run if every one of us that bought it from Amazon for $10 over BF and got the CD is any indication.

However, you are absolutely right in that it is all a gamble when it comes to AWD. It is better to assume dlc / codes are used and then be pleasantly surprised when they aren't since we are dealing with what is considered "used" merchandise and it is implied as such (that they are used) in relation to codes and dlc. You just have better chances of getting a dinger (with or without a certain description as guideline) when it is a newer release versus something that has been out for a while. Very much still a gamble as many can attest here.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe those were only for the 1st print run.

But idk why you wouldn't...? Like I said before nearly everything I have bought on AWD has the standard descriptions, and I have never gotten anything that didn't come complete. My Ghosts hardened was one of the best deals I've gotten. I mean hell, the season pass is $50 on its own.... $48.50 for the whole enchilada.....! Score!

Great insight. I've always read it's because they're proprietary. They're proprietary to help curb pirating. I don't have a Vita so I can't say whether it has or it hasn't.
Between the proprietary memory and "dumb" battery, the Vita's been much harder to attack then the PSP. There've been a few home brew holes through the PSP backwards compatibility, but nothing that's allowed execution of pirated retail Vita games. And the software exploits have all been patched pretty quickly.

The piracy rate for PSP was astounding. Even higher than the DS despite Nintendo's well known kvetching about R4's. I've always attributed that to the difference in user base. DS was a more kid/family friendly system and a lot of owners were not sophisticated enough to pirate DS games. PSP had a more tech savvy audience and was easier to exploit, which was a major problem for Sony and one of the reasons releases slowed so markedly towards the end of the PSP's life despite the reasonable installed base.

Vita swung too hard in the opposite direction and ended up too pricey to build a solid installed base. Proprietary format, high speed memory, and low production volume = high prices. While I'm sure they're getting some margin, it's not a hugely profitable item. Friends in retail loss prevention HATE them. Margin is far lower than most accessories, resale value is high, packaging is minuscule. Makes it a very attractive shoplifting target, which is one factor in many major retailers decision to stop stocking high capacity vita cards.

Looks like Vita Slim is about to be announced stateside, though. Maybe that'll give it some legs. As a vita fan I'm hoping for a DS Lite style comeback, but I seriously doubt it'll happen.

Hey DealSeeker who's going to win the Royal Rumble
Bryan Danielson
That would be nice but I think they are going to go with HB Shizzle angle with him (who will be present at the Rumble). I am taking a chance on Undertaker returning and claiming the win and going head to head against possibly Brock Lesnar in Wrestlemania 30. Long shot to say the least. Batista is there, possibly Sting debuting as well (too soon for Wrestlemania for him imo), maybe Jericho, RVD and Sheamus also rumored to make a return. Either way it should be interesting.

Staying on topic:

I received my (G) Turtle Beach PX4's the other day, they were literally brand new besides the tiniest dent in the corner on the box. AWD makes me happy again, I've yet to have a single bad experience with them.

Receive my AWD order today of Official Nintendo Wii U Pro controller. It was listed as good condition and it indeed was in good condition. The box just bent in one place a little bit and the controller looks brand new. The DreamGEAR 3DSXL Comfort Grip however looked like it had been through a garbage disposal. It was listed as being in good condition. The packaging was all twisted and warped and crushed. It was hard to open and get the comfort grip out. But fortunately it's just silicone and the actual comfort grip was fine. I love it and feels very comfortable to hold on the DSXL. No more cramping of my hands! I sent an email about the terrible condition of it and got a response within the hour saying they refunded me the $12.95. I totally wasn't expecting that! I just wanted to let them know it was definitely not in good, or even acceptable, condition like it was listed as.

Two more Cult of Croft members arrived today, first ones that looked like anyone had had actually used them the poor things.

This is seriously turning into a weird Lara Croft figure version of Fight Club.  A nice happy gathering that quickly turns into a militant cult where I'm going out to my porch and bringing new members into the cult house.

This whole thing has my vote for "Weirdest CAG Storyline of 2014."

I know it's early and all but... man. This is all so Lynch-ian.

Everyone forgets about the things that happen in the first third of the year when talking about end of year stuff anyway. I would have to reach Bioshock Infinite impact levels of weird to actually be remembered.

Did the 2013 things ever happen? I seem to have totally missed them.

My (very good) Luigi's Mansion arrived today, and while one can see some clear signs of use on the manual and packing, the Nintendo club code was unused. :) So a great deal altogether (even though I have to pay tax in MA).

How many of these popped up and how many did you buy?! What was the price?

About a week and a half ago, a couple items popped up for super cheap on AWD including the Tomb Raider CE for $9 and Metro Last Light for $4. Both items were in-stock for quite a while. I think Eld said he got 14 of the Tomb Raider CEs. Quite a few of us got multiples of both items because the listings were there for so long. They must have had a ton of them.

God dang it, I can't believe I missed that. I've been searching for TR CE lately like crazy since I always seem to miss it when it comes in stock on AWD.

Yea crazy..... I always hear about the super cheap deals but I've never actually seen one. And I'm on like all the time...

Since there aren't any deals at the moment, does this look right to you guys or is something wrong with a package I ordered. I live in New Hampshire, and I noticed it went to Minnesota from Michigan for some reason, not to mention being behind schedule for delivery
That's like a geography question! :D

But it is actually normal, I have had items ship from the midwest but routed to shipping cetner to the east (I'm in CA). No idea why they do this, or it's just a mistake.

Out of curiosity was there anyone that really wanted an Ys Memories of Celceta Silver edition dinger that never got one from AWD before they stopped showing up? Been thinking of trading it back to Amazon since I have it locked for the same price I paid for it. It's a good game and nice CE but I don't think I'm going to revisit it to play the game and it's not the type of CE that I tend to collect. Thought I would at least see if there was a regular who missed out on it that would be interested for $38 shipped which would be cost/Amazon TIV + shipping. Haven't decided 100% but wanted to see if anyone happened to be interested.

Well I got my Rune Factory 4 today that I snagged earlier this month (first one that showed up on AWD in a while and only one since). Was VG and seems to be just about perfect.

I live in north Florida, so packages are always shipped from somewhere more north then me. yet they always pass me and go to Orlando, Tampa, or Miami. Then I get the package 1 or 2 days later. So yeah, even though it's stupid, it's pretty normal.

same whenever I order stuff it goes all the way counter clockwise around the states that border and some that don't even border mine to pa then finally ships to me.

I live in CA. and I shipped something out two cities over (about 10 miles) and it went to RI to TX to the local shipping center, and then out for delivery. I also shipped something out to NJ, which went to a different sorting facility in the state for four straight days. Didnt know NJ was so big, haha.

Damn is prime really worth paying $79 for? I want to start getting in on these deals but no prime makes me sad. I also feel like I don't use Amazon enough to really make it worth it but I do have quite a bit of credit on it that I only use for stuff that's over $35.
