Surprisingly The Last Movie You Saw Didn't Suck Pt. 2

Prefontaine 3.9/5

- not as good as Without Limits. Very interesting to watch both since they were only made about a year apart. AFAIK Without Limits was the movie Pre's parents were behind. Prefontaine was a bit disappointing with some of the incidents it changed for dramatic purposes, such as how Pre injured his foot.

Fire On The Track: The Steve Prefontaine Story 4.5/5

- Documentary better than the 2 movies.
Prefontaine - 4/5 Actually better the 2nd time, noticed new things.

American Hustle - 4/5

Loved the ladies. A very understated performance by Bale which is unusual for him. Jeremy Renner was awesome. Outside of that, it was nothing special which is surprising for a movie with such positive buzz.

That's good to hear about Renner, not many have mentioned him but those that do say he's the heart of the film. I know ALL the internet loves Jennifer Lawrence but I find her a little annoying.

Tango and Cash - A very enjoyable bad film.I love how over the top the last 20 mins, with it just throwing all logic out the window.

Same here, I'm very tired of her. Renner wasn't in it all that much. He had a couple very good scenes though. Bale was the best part of that movie but overall thought it was just ok.

Watched it today. Thought it was alright, noting more. I really hated Bradley Cooper in this but Bale and Renner were great, they should have had more screen time in it. While Jennifer Lawrence was good in her role, I felt it was a little unnecessary.

47 Ronins: Idk why they have to place Keanu there. Lol the guy w tattoo from the poster. The movie just doesn't live up to my expectation, shame.

Hunger Games Catching Fire - Much better than the first, which I didn't like at all.  A lot of the first felt like them sitting in the woods and not much else.  At least this one had stuff going on the whole time.

That's good to hear, I felt similarly to the first so this makes it sound more hopeful to give it a chance.

The canyons. Really slow but bot awful. I didn't know Lindsey Lohan had such nice boobs till I watched it so that was a nice plus

2nd viewing, same score.

I remember when that movie came out at video rental stores on VHS.  The only reason I remember it is because they had so many copies which was incredibly unusual at that time (I don't think BBV was even a thing yet either).  I never saw it until I was older but it was an instant classic for me with Fred Gwynne being in it.

Pain & Gain.

Better than I expected. Crazy that it's based on a true story. But I suspect they embellished a lot.
You'd be surprised that the crazier stuff was omitted in the film. It was a really good movies, shocking with it coming from the house of Bay.

Lone Survivor 4/5

Brutal and bloody. A good action flick, based on a true story. Read the book, if you want to find out more about each character as the movie has virtually zero character development. A great tribute to the soldiers who risk their lives to protect our freedom.

Out of the Furnace 3.5/5

I am not sure what to make of this one. I had high hopes for this film given the fantastic cast but at the best it was an above avg movie. The director made some peculiar directing decisions which didn't help given the already weak script.

Paranormal Activity - 1/5 - Also know as Sleeping: The Movie

Paranormal Activity 2 - 2.5/5 - Some decent scares (and boobs) but still rather sleepy and predictable

Paranormal Activity 3 - 3.5/5 - Once again some decent scares and I loved some of the ways they tied the films together

Paranormal Activity 4 - 3/5 - It was OK, but more of the same. A lot of the film didn't make sense from a common sense stand point

The Last Stand - 4/5 - It sure is nice to see Arnold back in a starring role in an action film. I loved the action and rampant murder. The only negatives were Whitaker's lazy eye and the criminal underuse of Jamie Alexander.

The 13th Warrior - 3.25/5

Really enjoyed this back in ~1999-2000. Doesn't hold up as well after seeing The Vikings tv show.

None of them do. Each film's plot would completely collapse if the main household member simply showed other people the recordings. That's it. Like, you finally have video footage of shit floating around your house and have been trying to prove it for the past week, but now you don't share it with anyone? Each movie does this. It's impossible not to notice.

Bad Boys - was on tv. Forgot how much I liked this one, vastly superior to it's sequel. I still maintain if Michael Bay can show some restraint in his bombastic filmmaking he can make quite the enjoyable action romp.

I liked hansel and gretel witch hunters and now you see me

dont judge me :whee:
I loved Hansel and Gretel. It was exactly what I expected and what they advertised so no complaints. Hope they make that sequel they have been talking about!

I'm about to watch Bad Grandpa as I could never get time to go see it in theaters.

Man of Steel - 2.5/5: Way too much exposition for what's really a pretty simple story. And for me, Lois Lane was an unpleasant interruption every time she appeared on screen, and Superman's relationship with his earth father was really melodramatic (the scene with the tornado has to be one of the stupidest pieces of film I've ever seen).

That being said, the movie gets 2.5 stars almost solely for its 10 minute action scene in the middle (the Krypton chick and henchman vs Superman and the Army). Like, that made my night. I've never seen that level of fight choreography in a hollywood film. No bullshit, no overplayed kungfu, no acceleration, no slow motion -- just ass kicking at neckbreak speeds. It was fucking flawless. I don't know who directed those scenes but they need to do other movies.

Still enjoyable despite watching a documentary-special a month after the real ordeal.

Seeing the documentary would have ruined the movie for me.

Just knowing how much bullshit is in the movie to make the main character look way more heroic than he actually was.
