(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

I think that's why Turbine's MMO's once they went F2P w/ micro-transactions + Guild Wars series + TSW once it dropped its sub-fee did so well - b/c gamers could now just buy the game + play whenever they felt like (as long as the company's servers were up), not having to worry about sub-fees. If gamers really dug an MMO and wanted new content, they could just buy the new pieces of content whenever necessary.

You're not really qualified to talk about MMO-addicts. Quite a few of us had two-subs at a time.

It's one of the little (unknown) gems of Winter... I absolutely love it... other (unknown) gems are Pool Nation and Shufflepuck Cantina.

ESO looks like it fixed my gear complaints about Skyrim
Since I got the best gear I could get as a rogue like character, there was literally no reason for me to play Dragonborn except for Story which I did not feel the need to.

That does not make ESO worth $15 a month. As a long time off and on WoW player, I don't see any reason to buy ESO. I see just a ES game with multiplayer and $15 a month charge. Plus you wont have the option probably to spend 100 hours walking around and stealing every bowl in the game to create a bowl shrine in your house, lol.

WoW has people paying $15 a month because Blizzard is like Apple. A hardcore fuck ing fanbase.

I'm so addicted to Pool Nation right now... it's very very good. The gameplay, physics, and controls are excellent. Plus, the challenge within the various single-player tournaments keep things fresh. I haven't tested my virtual pool skills versus another player online yet, as every time I attempt to there's no one to play (probably just bad timing on my part).

Overall, this game has simply exceeded my expectations, and it's well worth picking up next time it goes on sale.

Another nice giveaway. I will sit this one out. I've got a bunch of stuff to play at the moment.

But on a side note how is E.Y.E its always seemed interesting to me, but I just don't think I would be able to get into it or it wouldn't hold my interest.

E.Y.E. has visually interested me for a while. That's about all I can contribute to the topic. Hopefully, I'll get around to playing it before the end of the decade.

Give it a try... supposedly it either interests you right away or it doesn't... sadly I fall in the latter.

 
So, while sending out my Epigenesis gifts through GamersGate, I noticed you can select a 'theme' for the gifted email.  One of the themes was Christmas 2011.  Oh GamersGate, you're like the accidental incestual bastard child no one wanted.

I don't get it (E.Y.E.) either. I played it a while back to get that achievement during one of the Steam events and it was just too... weird and boring. I feel like I'm missing something and I should like it, but I just uninstalled.

Considering there are triple A titles on my Steam wishlist that they haven't had on sale (outside of the generic 25% off during the holidays) in over a year I think its at least noteworthy...

Its not an easy game to shutout an opponent for 4 quarters... (Especially, with today's rules) So what you see as being pessimistic I see as being a realist.

As for quick to debate generalizations... if you had said TV and I countered "or a radio" I think you would have a valid point... As is? Not really.

It hasn't been on Steam in the last month, but it has been $5 on Uplay and Get Games and $7 on Nuuvem in the last two weeks... not to mention $9.99 multiple times in January on various sites.

I've got nothing against DE:HR (loved the game), but I'm a little anxious to see some sales on other Steam games, including several that didn't win community votes during the Winter Sale, or were mistakenly not marked down **cough** Pac Man Championship Edition DX **cough**.

We all know Squeenix needs to sell some games in the worst way, but enough already! I'm gonna start chanting Humble Squeenix Bundle along with Mooby just so their games will stop hogging the dailies.
