New Thread:

This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Quick question for the thread, in reference to the GMG credit people are getting for completing acheivos.  Are you guys using SAM to get the achievement then get the credit or are you actually playing the games to get the credit?  I intend to use GMG credit to buy Steam games so very loosely on topic.

;)

Also, last time I played you weren't online. So there was that too.
When are you typically on? My sleep schedule is erratic and willing to change at the prospect of playing games with someone.

Four In February update.
If we're doing this, I beat Lilly Looking Through on the first so that's one game down for me. I'm not sure what I'd like the other three to be, does it count if it's something you started prior to the month and never finished? I've got a lot of half started games I need to clear out, but want to play by "the rules".

But no Voucher. :nottalking:
Its up now...

I haven't made it to the GMG thread so forgive me if this is repeated info. :)

Last years' 'Four In February' for me:

Indie Game: The Movie (I'm counting this!)
I think that's fair... Everything I've read says Hotline Miami isn't an easy game so it should be worth two.

The voucher doesn't work on Inustice and the other 2013 Revisited sale games.

The Weeklong Deals weren't showing for me on the front page of Steam, so I thought I'd paste this from the OP:

Weeklong Deals

Mutant Mudds (currently in bundle)

MX vs ATV

10,000.000

Rescue

Age of Conan: Unchained - Crush Your Enemies Pack

Sword of the Stars - The Pit: Gold

Yeah, I see that now... Sorry, everyone. :(

Kind of a motley mix... Though to be honest... I sort of enjoyed my brief time with trying Age of Conan.

I read that in an Arnie voice.

Apparently they are doing GMG credit back for those games so I guess that's sort of something. Injustice gives $2 GMG credit, which is almost 20% back, but I think most people would just rather have the straight discount.

Might get 10,000,000, but it's a weeklong deal. Better to wait and see if it's in this week's new Humble / weekly.

Is SotS: The Pit supposed to be only 25% off? Really weak discount if so.

Steam Music, anyone?

I assume this is meant to be part of the living room experience of Big Picture and playing your own music while in a game, but I wonder if this will lead to some sort of standard location for game soundtrack DLC which can sometimes be a mess.

there's no way i'm beating four games in february, just because im playing morrowind. if i'm lucky, i'll be done morrowind by the end of the month.
It's funny that you mention not being able to participate because you're playing Morrowind. I didn't take part in 4 in Feb last year because I was also in the middle of playing Morrowind. And now that I think about it, I never did beat it. Or start the game really. Not the main game anyway. I spent all my time leveling up my character and doing side quests.

My problem with most RPGs is that I tend to focus on leveling up my character as far as I can. Frequently to the point where the game itself becomes boring because I'm over-powered. One of these days I'm gonna start a game of Morrowind and just play it without first leveling up to the point where I can jump over mountains or run across water.

Is there a thread for it somewhere? It was an interesting idea and it got me playing some stuff I normally would not have last year, even if I was lame and didn't actually finish them all.
There does not appear to be a thread dedicated to this. Nobody even brought it up before I mentioned it the other day. I wasn't even sure if anybody cared. But now I see a few other CAGs expressing an interest. So maybe there should be a thread for this.

As far as I can tell, the only rule is that you need to beat 4 games in February. Any other qualifications or parameters that you set would be of your own choosing.

I myself played through about 75% of Duke Nukem Forever in January. So beating in February only required me to go through the last quarter of the game. At the moment, I'm counting it on my list. If I make sufficient progress towards the goal in a short enough period of time, maybe I'll play through and beat something else and not count DNF.

So it's pretty much up to you if you wanna count it.

10,000,000 at 80% smells like a trap to me.
It's actually a very decent action puzzler. And it's pretty freakin' hard. It was bundled before so you might be able to find a cheap key somewhere.

About four in February: I didn't intend to follow along, but I'm almost done with the first game (Guacamelee). I started playing it on the 1st... might as well keep going. I'm also at the halfway point of Saturday Morning RPG (Episode 3) but I started that on January 30th. And I think I'm on the last chapters of Borderlands 2's main story campaign... Would they still count? :p

Coming from a guy that buys games at full retail, I would definitely heed this warning!

My hoarder moment of the day - reading the description of Eleusis on the weeklong deals thread, thinking it sounded cool, thinking it is probably bundle material so even at 75% off I shouldn't buy it, clicking on the store page anyways, seeing "You already own Eleusis", and then realizing that's why the game was highlighted green on the page before.

Was it bundled already? I don't recall seeing it.

It's a very competent game and I finished it on iOS already which is the only thing holding me back. 79p is cheap but that's 79p that could be sent on silly emoticons.

:whee:

Four in February is a cute idea, but even if I beat 4 games every month it'd take me like 18 years to clear my current backlog

My solution to this, of course, is to just continue playing nothing.

Giving away copies of:
Aqua Kitty - Milk Mine Defender (Out Today!)
The Castle Doctrine
Guise of the Wolf
A-Men

1. Full retail price games AND Early Access games. I'm like the CAG village idiot.

2. I did exactly the same with Eleusis. We're very much alike, you and I.

3. In case you didn't notice, I just called you an idiot too.

I don't have any missed calls from you an how would I know you called idiot too?

I managed to resist buying Amalur.

Only because I didn't have enough card money and didn't feel like playing the card market this weekend, but still.  I'm liking that I haven't spent any of my own money in Steam since May of last year.

New Bundle Stars Extreme Sims Bundle - 8 steam games for $3.92

  1. Ship Simulator Extremes
  2. Lunar Flight
  3. Dogfight 1942
  4. Bridge It (Plus)
  5. Airport Simulator 2014
  6. Skyscraper Simulator
  7. Agricultural Simulator: Historical Farming
  8. Woodcutter Simulator 2013 Gold Edition

Blink Bundle unlocked the first bonus game I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream.
More simulator games I'll never play, guess I'll have to pass on that one but thanks for posting it. For some reason I can't play sim games unless they look very pretty like the newest Simcity.

The only sim I can play is Tiny Tower. Finally broke free from that black hole a few months ago, feels good man.

*I'm sure it's not really considered a sim but it sounds like Sim City and Skyscraper Simulator, so close enough.

I'm really glad they made a simulator about Historical Farming because all these modern fancy pants farming simulators just don't do virtual farming like they used to in the good old days.

I'm also strangely compelled by a game about chopping wood.

Of course it's Bundlestars so I already own half or more of the games in the bundle.

Decisons, decisions.

*Edit to add: I'm glad that Woodcutter Simulator is the Gold Edition. I was a little bit worried I would not have enough virtual wood to cut.

Airport Simulator 2014. 169 reviews on steam and there's only one non-ironic positive review. lol

EDIT: I take that back. Didn't notice the "load more reviews" button. Still, it's not terribly well received.
