Offtopic, but what the hey: is there no way to get a white background in CAG anymore ("white theme" instead of the "dark theme")? Even the mobile theme has a black background now.

In Crapatalk...er....Tapatalk (on my phone), the background is still white.....the bad thing about the white background now is that "Sarcastic Font" (yellow) is really hard to read on a white background.....yeah, I'm old, my eyes strain......YOU KIDS! GET OFFA MY LAWN!!!!

P.S. I know that doesn't help you, but I'm old and I ramble.....

MysterD would be very confused then since he would not be able to tell if someone was being serious or not if they said they sold 1,000 copies of a game.

Anyway...iOS is that like VCR?....mine is still blinking 12:00.

I actually like the White Theme on my droid (like you say, there is an option to switch to black, but I'm old and don't have time to look for it, so I'll have to have the neighborhood kid do it for me). Since I can't read the yellow on white text, I just pretend that person is being excellent to someone else....or something.

He stopped the wrestler chick picture spam because I threatened to call the mods on his ass, but he still mentions spanking in every sentence and is otherwise unintelligible.

(And yes I recognize that I am responding semi-seriously to a sarcastic comment.)

True, I don't think MysterD gets the concept of sarcasm very well, but he's trying his best. :p

Edited to add: Who started the whole yellow comic sans thing anyway? Was it him or some other similarly sarcastically impaired individual?

I've noticed quite a few Bleed giveaways on steamgifts over the past week (and almost none before that).  Anyone know if it was a free or near free somewhere recently?  I'm mildly interested in picking it up.

Regarding sarcasm font:  I've never used it either.  Sarcasm shouldn't require extra effort on the part of the user.  It's up to the sarcastee to get it or not.  That's the point.  Using a font to denote emotions is a little too Elcor for me.

I'm all for doing away w/yellow sarcasm font. Most people here can tell if you're being sarcastic. Plus it kind of does away with the whole point of sarcasm...it's like immediately explaining your punchline every time you tell a joke.

I always thought the yellow font was just a running joke, not anything people were actually adopting.  No good deals makes you guys talk about stupid things sometimes.  

 
Sorry if this is repeat information (I couldn't find mention of this), but owners of 10,000,000 on Steam and Humble Store will get its "expansion" You Must Build a Boat for free when it launches.

I don't have 10mil on Steam yet, but I beat it on iOS.  I'm tempted to get it now while it's only a dollar, even if it's eventually bundle fodder, because I don't mind paying $1 for both 10mil and its sequel.

Wow, I just noticed Castleminer Z! It's Minecraft with zombies.  Is anybody getting that foolish Flowette itch to buy this right now?  If so, let me know.  I'm always more likely to do stupid things when in groups.

I also noticed Sniper Art of Victory on there.  That game sucks.  So even though it's super cheap, be forewarned, it sucks.  The sniping there is worse than in Chrome and the sniping in Chrome is pretty horrid.  Also, sneaking is near impossible.  Basically, it being on Steam now is just good news in the sense maybe you will get it in a bundle one day.

I noticed it earlier, it's got a bunnnnnch of bad reviews. (Edit: ok ... there's 5 =P )

Looking at it though, it's wierd ... it has minecrafty landscape ... very blocky ... but fairly well detailed player, weapon and creature/zombie models.

It just seems wierd. They'd have been better making everything blocky. Now it looks like you'd be playing in a world that is strangely, naturally cubey.

Where does it have bad reviews? I didn't see any on metacritic. I'll have to read them. I wouldn't be surprised at a ton of minecraft fanboy backlash. It's the best selling indie game on xbox live or something! That has to mean something.

I see iSerra owns it and has played it... iSERRA!!!!!

On the Steam store page, although there seems to be just as many positive reviews. Just not rated as helpful I guess.

Yeah, the game has 5 out of 28 bad reviews. So that is 23 positive It's just that the minecraft fanboys have upvoted the negative ones so that the first five reviews you see are all negative.

I went snooping in the forums. Apparently it was one of those games where they tried to bribe people with a promise of a free key for a Greenlight vote but now they are trying to hide it.

It doesn't have the Greenlight logo though so I am wondering if they somehow got Valve to let them in directly or what. It doesn't seem like they would need to. Minecraft clone + zombies seems exactly the type of game to get tons of votes from the regular Greenlight crowd. Throw in the promise of free keys and it's a shoe in.

I always in the back of my mind wonder on those games where they promise keys for votes if they'll find some way to worm their way out of it.

The review system on Steam is fairly broken. Unless a game is almost universally reviled like War Z or Garry's Incident then pretty much any negative reviews will get downvoted all to hell by fanbois.

I always look at the negative reviews anyway and ignore the useful votes and just skim them and see if what they have to say seems reasonable and sensible or is just flaming nonsense.

The useful not useful system as far as Steam reviews goes just doesn't seem to work. Everyone wants to hear fluffy bunnies or they will downvote you. I suspect some devs have multiple shills or friends downvote bad reviews too in some cases.

Hmmm, the only thing that makes me doubtful of this is I feel that if they really had promised a free copy with an upvote, it would have made its way onto CAG at some point, right? That's the only thing that has me skeptical. We're pretty good at tracking down free with vote offers.

You're no doubt right. The game still looks freaky to me though. Either go all blocky or all high detail, pick one or the other.
