New Thread:

This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

These were bundled before:

Angvik
Diehard Dungeon
Gear Jack
Ghostship Aftermath
Reversion: A Sci-Fi Adventure Game
Richard & Alice

You look quite dashing with that new 'stash even if you did nab my copy of Port Royale 3. I need to acquire some spidey sense or maybe some of that sticky web stuff so I can sweep in and grab codes a nanosecond after they are posted. Yes that is what I need.
I never took Port Royale 3. I don't own it.

EPOCH was in Humble Mobile Bundle 3 and Yet Another Zombie Defense was in Indie Royale Golden Jubilee Bundle.

You're thinking of Amazing Zombie Defense. Different game. I don't think it was bundled, but it was free via newsletter like hal said.

Also, Humble Mobile bundles don't give steam keys, sadly :whistle2:(

I think Amazing Zombie Defense and Yet Another Zombie Defense is the same game, some developers do provide steam keys for their games in Mobile Bundles like 11bitstudios.

Hm, it does look like they're the same game. Ugh, they should stick to one name.. that's confusing. I don't think Steam keys were added to the mobile bundle the 11bitsudios game was in though.

That shows them being added to the android and 11bitstuidos bundles, but not the mobile one. I don't know for sure though since I didn't pay a dollar for the mobile bundle.

Correct. I just checked to make sure and there are no keys in my Humble Mobile Bundle page that I paid $1 for.

I'd ask Lougle.

So I'd better wait for a non-reference cooler version?
Depends on how the rest of your system is built. Stock coolers assume that all of the built-up heat needs to be blown outside the PC entirely, so they don't stress any other portion of your cooling setup. It's efficient, but since all the work is being done by a single fan, it can get noisy when the card gets hot.

Non-reference coolers are only concerned with getting the heat away from the GPU. Their fans are bigger and slower, and move the heat into the PC case. Non-reference coolers are best for people whose cases have plenty of fans and airflow; it's up to the system fans to move that warm air outside the box. They're quieter, and usually provide better temps than the stock coolers, but only if the rest of the cooling system is up to snuff.

For the AMD R9 290 and 290X, benchmark testing indicates that the stock cooler has trouble with all the heat that gets produced, and that both cards will either throttle themselves or ramp the fan speed up to ugly levels to keep from frying the GPU. Non-reference coolers should fix the noise problem; but since the market has been so distorted by miners, the card manufacturers have been slow to release non-reference designs.

With the default split, which the vast majority will do, at the $1 level 5 cents goes to Able Gamers (sorry but I don't count Gala Project X as a charity) and at the $4 level 20 cents goes to charity. I suppose with happy hour about 10 cents-ish will be going to Able Gamers per HH bundle. That's not really a lot and doesn't seem like a great reason to devalue an Early Access game game selling for $15 regular and $40 Spearhead Edition. But hey. CHEEP GAMEZ.

Far be it from me to complain about deals but it seems very little is actually going to a charity.
I buy bundles rarely; but when I do, I usually push the charity slider to 100%.

So, I got from the free giveaway Sims 3: Town Life Stuff Pack and it's showing up in my Origin account...

....but NO serial key came associated w/ it!

LMAO!

Oh yeah, well reminded.

*loads Origin to check, sees SIms and new free add-on there, bunch of games there, flicks back to Steam, sees hundreds of games there, thinks about Desura a/c, load of crap plus Snooker in there*

Man, I really need to think about playing some games later.

I don't know what's more upsetting: that he was able to "buy" enough votes to get his school project onto Steam, or that people actually care about getting a "free copy" of what could be the shittiest game on the platform in your backlog.
Fixed!

The optimist in me wants to hope it's some sort of self aware social commentary satire on Greenlight process and the generic derivative crap that the masses eat right up but the pessimist says he is just savvy enough to know the gaming market and the greenlight crowd so as to whore himself out to the lowest common denominator with some half assed crap to make a quick buck (or tens of thousands).

Are you sure it's supposed to come with a key? Mine shows up the same way.
Yep.

When you try to install the game, it will ask you to input a serial.

That's no good, since it ain't coming w/ one!

EA is aware of the issue and are working on it - people on Twitter and on the Forums have let EA know of the matter and they said they're working on it.

haw u get dis 4 free?
If you've registered your copy on the Sims website, you should be able to link your Origin key and then take advantage of the offer that pops up inside the Origin client. Or you might've gotten an email if you were already registered.

EA is having a giveaway on The Sims 3: Town Life stuff pack for their Sims Anniversary celebration.

It was mentioned yesterday in one of the CAG Threads - might've been this one or the Amazon Thread.

Can't recall.

I'll see if I can find you the link.

This is not a deal but I wonder who is going to buy this?

Masters of the World - Geopolitical Simulator 3 - $44.99

Eversim DRM: 2 machine activation limit :shame:
So I'm a little late to comment on this but apparently this was voted in through Greenlight which conveniently neither listed what the intended price was nor that fact that they intended to slap additional 3rd party DRM with 2 activation limits on top of Steam.

I've long said Valve should make developers and publishers on Greenlight at least give a rough ballpark estimate on what they're intended to sell that game for. I guess I should add to that whether they intend to add any additional 3rd party DRM beyond Steam.

Then again this game is by the French who are some of the most heinous about still forcing archaic, draconian DRM on people like Focus Home Interactive and others have done.

IMO, if they're going though greenlight they shouldn't have DRM other than steam-DRM...

It's missing there... I see where it should be from other games... but there's not even the field label.
Did you buy it from Origin? That's where mine is... apologies if I led anyone astray.

(I guess I should assume Steam... since this is the Steam thread.)

Wow... shameless.  What?! Final DLC?  I don't believe it.  Either that or BL3 must be closer to completion than I thought.

"Up to now, it is safe to say that Borderlands 2 has seen a lot of extra content added in the 17 months since it released – to the point where we’re pushing some technical limitations making it near impossible to add more missions, items and such. "

Sounds like they'd keep going if they could =0
