LEGO Deals 3

My Lego store said they aren't going to have any other Simpson's sets so I think I'll hold out on the minifigs, though they look much, much better than I thought they would.

Found the Simpsons mini's at Target this afternoon for $3.99.  Got them to price match Walmart eventhough they couldn't find them on the website...I'm just so trustworthy!

They were on one of those vertical aisle hanging displays like the previous minifigs.

Anyone here have Prime?  There is currently the $30 castle movie set that has over 400 pieces for $22.69 on Amazon.  Really glad that the sets are becoming cheap there.  In the future (because the sets won't be retired until mid 2015 I'd say) they will be more in there so us without Prime (real cheapasses) can buy them.  :)

Hey. Sorry if this is uncouth or been happening a ton lately but I'm one of those guys brought back to brick building by the Lego movie. After seeing the movie I'll admit I was temporarily drawn to the darkside and got some fun clearance Kre-O Transformers sets but have decided to actually work Lego into my budget. I saw the May the Fourth giveaway this year is a Revan mini fig and since KoTOR is my all time favorite game I figure now is as good a time as any to make the leap.

Here's where I need YOUR help. I'm pretty deadset on an X-Wing. The old one was my all time favorite when I was a kid and the new one looks like a solid improvement while still filling my nostalgia needs. I'd need a second set to hit $75 but can't really justify more than about $100 total.

The first one to catch my eye is the Mandalorian Speeder (75022), but it doesn't have a ton of reviews. What's the board's recommendation for a newish (returning) builder?

Ran across some Mixels at Meijer the other day so I grabbed a couple to put in the kiddo's Easter baskets.  Wasn't too impressed with images of them but assembled they are pretty damn adorable.

I opened 2 yellow mixels with my son, we had a race to see who could finish first, who do you think won? He did. I want the 3rd yellow now, I have a black one maybe the store will let me switch.

My first recommendation would be a slightly larger font. Just because some Legos are small doesn't mean your text has to be.

Secondly, and this is totally dependent on your thoughts on the prequel trilogy, I bought my son Grievous' Wheel Bike, mostly because of the minifigure. He'll build it, and then I'll get Grievous a week later when he's done with it. I like the way the Interceptor looks, but the price/piece on that set doesn't add up for me until it's on sale.

@rodfather:

Go for a few of the microfighters sets if you're on a budget. Built the micro x-wing yesterday, nice little build and a great minifigure.

Stopped at Target this morning...the Tumbler that was in the easter section is still coming up $3.99 when scanned for me and it came up as "police" or something like that.  The Friends polybag was ringing up correctly at $2.49 (50% off).

And a severed R2 head!

I didn't read his post that carefully and I was wondering why he was buying an X-wing from the lego store right after 2x points expired, and when it still shows up regularly on AWD. But if you're going for May the 4th deal, I understand, and yeah, the microfighters are the way to go (unless you want some imperial guards or something, since I think that's the only minifig pack for the original trilogy, right?).

There will be a Lego Star Wars build event at Toys R Us on May 3rd

The post office sucks! I stuck two stamps on a tiny package for a .9 ounce package, but I was afraid they would fall off so I taped over it. There was no issues until it got to the state it was going and then they sent it back saying I can't reuse stamps, and covered the stamps!

I once mailed a friend a package using 25 stamps, some were used penny stamps and there was no problem.

So to the certain awesome person here. So sorry!

The Force is definitely strong with this one...
Did you get 2x points for a dented box? You better have...

Also, what are the sales for Star Wars that the VIP email was referring to. It made it sound like they were available to see now but I couldn't find them.

Hi everyone, does anybody know of a site that details the following Weekes sales like CAG, but for Toys? Legos specifically. I'm already on the Lego Forums but no dice

I'm sure it's not the most popular line, but my Target had TMNT set 79120 T-Rawket Sky Strike on clearance for $17.49. Fun little set, especially for the price. Seems strange timing with the upcoming movie.

The price isn't bad for the piece count, although that's certain to have lots of small pieces.

I like the transformable aspect of it.  It's a vehicle and a set and it looks to be filled with lots of clever things.  I'm at least cautiously optimistic.

The VIP Sneak Preview for May the 4th looks to be a giant waste of time.  Stuff will be on sale...but we won't tell you what it is.  Gee, thanks.

Found the Simpsons minifigs at Target and picked up a complete set.  Dislike the price, but the figures are great.

Looks pretty cool, especially all of it fitting on the trucks but man the color palette needs some work.

Pic of the Master Builder choosing the color palette:

If you have the carousel it will go great with that set!!! Time to make use of those s1 clowns!!!

@Tito, I hate you!!!! Full of envy!!!! Quick question, do you have any insider info on May 4th and...... Is the Star Destroyer at its EOL?

I bought a Super Star Destroyer from Walmart.com a little over a week ago. It went out of stock on Amazon this last week and it's been out of stock from Lego for at least a couple weeks.

Shoot, I wanted to wait till next weekend but I don't know if it's a good idea or not.

Found the Lego Simpsons packs at Target. I've never really been interested in the blind packs until these came out. It's easy to feel some of them out, but Milhouse and Ralph were the toughest. Fortunately, I got a complete set of 16 without any dupes. Sucks that they cost $3.99 a pack though.

I only really collect the Superhero minifigs (primarily Marvel) and I've been buying the minifigs on eBay. For those that collect only minifigs, do you find it easier to buy the sets, keep the minifigs, and sell off the rest or is it easier to just buy the minifigs on eBay?

I'm just the opposite...I sell off the minfigs and keep the pieces.  I'm amazed at how much some people will pay for the minifigs.  Most sets on ebay without minifigs sell from 25% - 50% of retail, and it trends toward the lower figure.  Guess you've got to do the math and figure out if its worth the trouble to sell off set pieces, or just keep buying the minifigs off Ebay.

I agree with the Simpson's minfigs...Ralph and Milhouse only differ in their heads.  I haven't opened mine yet but I think Ralph's head is smoother.

I saw a few things that were being discounted (Skiff and Malevolence hitting 50% off only), but nothing crazy. Last year we had the B-Wing that went 50%, am I right? I haven't heard/seen anything similar to this, but things tend to change from one day to the next. Aside from what you guys already know this seems to be it. I'll see what's up and I'll keep you guys updated if anything comes up.

The SSD is going bye-bye soon, and to be quite frank, it was about time!

Got an Endor planet set, Construct a Zurg and Monster Fighters mummy set from a collector show yesterday

Found the Rapunzel poly at Target a little while ago

I broke the embargo on minifigs, I managed to get a complete set with no open dupes!!! I picked up 52 bags and only managed one which really surprised me. I didn't get an extra Chief Wiggum, Millhouse or Mr. Burns.

Krusty, Marge and Itchy seem to be one of the plentiful characters in the cases at Target, I'll give a quick breakdown for those of you who find it hard to fell for the characters.

Homer= Remote and donut.

Bart= Skateboard Wheels and Skateboard, long head with flat top.

Marge= Biggest head of all, really distinguishable and the 2x2 flat plate.

Lisa= Saxamaphone, short legs, small round spiky head.

Maggie= only 4 pieces in bag, feel for the body with the pointy end and spiky head.

Grandpa= He's the only other adult character with a 2x2 flat plate, feel for that and the legs that bend. long head with a few points at the end.

Flanders= Cup with handle and the toolbox

Krusty= Head is very distinguishable

Millhouse= Longer head, short legs, 2x2 flat plate

Ralph= Similar to Millhouse but feel for the smaller rounder head.

Apu= Feel for the cup without a handle.

Nelson= Bat, feel for the knob, short legs.

Itchy=Club is very distinguishable, small short handle and gets very large. The head is very distinguishable, long snout with round ears in the rear.

Scratchy=  Pointy ears, feel for the ax, can be confused so make sure you feel for the axe head.

Chief Wiggums= Very large flat head, you can feel for the mic, handle is distinguishable with Flanders cup, also look for the club.

Mr.Burns= Feel for the UraniumRod and a Lego figures head,

Amazon has a couple of Spidey sets on sale - the Electro one, which I want for the Electro fig but really don't need another Spidey, and the Doc Ock truck heist. Can anyone recommend the truck heist set? I want the Doc Ock figure and the armored truck looks like a cool little build but again, I don't want or need another Spidey.

Some kind of super secret spy posting???  Do I have to rub lemon juice on my screen to make the message appear?

My son got the Electro minifig at the builder's club last weekend...he was upset it wasn't the comic version, but has come to like it.  Be grateful they put Doc Ock in a $20 set and not just the $50 set from last year.

Doc Ock set is tempting. The spider cycle set with Venom is also discounted around $5. Venom was probably my favorite character in the Lego Marvel game.

It's official that the remaining Lego Movie sets come in June. Plus, the freebie on spending 50 bucks is this charming balloon vendor.
