So, update on the second Battlepillars achievement.

It's doable, but it requires you to get a decent amount into the game, as you can't even start buying upgrades for your base 'till the fourth or fifth level. Then just stockpile your apples and use them on base upgrades (there's only a couple, but they get expensive).

Basically, if you like the game, you can do it before the timer runs out easily. If you don't, don't bother.

As for the third achievement, it sounds ridiculous. Don't even bother unless you plan to max out everything.

Not that anyone should have been considering it anyway, but it's a penny cheaper to skip the pack and buy them individually.

That "savings" could be used to "hate-penny" the next humble bundle.

For example they don't have a single Star Wars game. Not one. They're also missing the "new" Bloodrayne game that just came out and they gave rewards on. And VtM.

All games I wanted to buy and don't have quite enough credit on Steam for. >_<

also, GMG is missing Manhunt II.
Probably because Manhunt 2 never released on Steam, as it was an Adults-Only game and you know how Steam feels about aO games. That's the cost of keeping porn games off Steam.

I'm especially disappointed about Bloodrayne not being available, as I'd consider it for $8 - the rewards (since I have $12something of credit). Probably the same with VtM for $4 for credit.

Anyways, here are the new rewards:

[SIZE=x-small]Available until Thursday 8 May, 2014 @ 23:59 UTC:[/SIZE]

 • Chaos Domain - play for the first time - £0.10
 • Chaos Domain - unlock Wind of Horus - £0.10
 • Chaos Domain - unlock You Can Look, But You Can’t Touch - £0.25
 • Chaos Domain - unlock I Whisper in the Ear of the Dead - £0.50
 • Farming World - play for the first time - £0.10
 • Gunhound Ex - play for the first time - £0.10
 • Gunhound Ex - unlock Trainee Graduation - £0.10
 • Gunhound Ex - unlock Captain - £0.25
 • Gunhound Ex - unlock Colonel - £0.50
 • Project Root - play for the first time - £0.10
 • Project Root - unlock HUNTER - £0.10
 • Project Root - unlock KILLER - £0.25
 • Project Root - unlock SURVIVOR - £0.50
 • Space Farmers - play for the first time - £0.10
 • Space Farmers - unlock Big Spender - £0.10
 • Space Farmers - unlock DRINK! - £0.25
 • Space Farmers - unlock Pig Carrier - £0.50

GMG is running a promo where if you buy Space Farmers at full price, you get another "select" game for 50% off (the games all suck), so there's that.

All of the rewards games are new except for Space Farmers, none are F2P. All the new games have the standard 20-30% discount on Steam for release week except for Chaos Domain which is 50% off at GMG.

Must have been with SecuROM DRM. GMG seems to mostly only carry Steam or Crapsule stuff, so I'm not surprised.

And I think we all know Amazon's a bunch of degenerates based on the reps they send us. :p
There's "requires capsule to download"... which isn't crapsule drm'd... it's direct download (e.g. Amazon or GG). (Yes, Manhunt 2 from Amazon is SecuROM.) Dumbass

I know, naked with a bowl of jello... jeez.

Rockstar Bundle - $23.98 (80% off) [customspoiler=Includes]
Bully Scholarship, Manhunt, Midnight Club 2, Max Payne, Max Payne 2, Max Payne 3, Max Payne Rockstar Pass, LA Noire Complete[/customspoiler]
I have no idea why I'm tempted by this bundle other than the fact that I own 0 Rockstar games for PC aside from the GTA collection (should be $19something after coupon at least). CAG PC veterans, tell me why this is a terrible deal that I must avoid at all costs please.

There's no shortage of Rockstar deals and I haven't done the math on this one. Having said that, given what you own you're kind of looking for a bundle of this sort and it seems that it does include the complete versions.

On the flip side, you're probably safe just waiting to see if there's ever a real bundle unless you're desperate to play one of those games.

Incomplete reason list:

Midnight Club 2 was free for joining Rockstar's group on steam, dumbass

Tony's Mayhem sale 12 months ago for everything else. Also LA Noire is a crapshoot: 30 fps lock, and some people just can't run it.

e.g. Bully+Manhunt+1&2+Midnight Club for $7... there were better ones too.

Without doing the math, I'd say it's probably a wash between that bundle price and cheapassing.

Thanks you two. I'll just wait and see if Amazon's MAYhem sale this year offers a better deal like last year. I'm not particularly dying to play any of these games (I have LA Noire, MP3 Complete and Bully on console), but it seemed like a decent offer to finish up my Rockstar PC Collection (aside from Manhunt 2 for obvious reasons) with.

If you're not hot on playing a handful of these then it is harder to recommend. It looks solid if you want it all, but the real problem is that once you own all Rockstar games on PC you just look at these sales with scorn, and wonder wtf they can't port something else over to sell me, e.g. GTA V, RDR.

Oh huh, Bully got a 360 release. (I only remember the PS2 & PC releases, yes from retail.)

I think Hal kinda summarizes it well, "There's no shortage of Rockstar deals"

I think is a good deal at $19 IF you want to complete the collection on PC, will play some and have Sim GMG money.

MP3 is a great game and looks great on PC. LA Noire is good too (works fine for me). MP1+2 are good too, and aged well. I don't like GTA 4 as much as like SRTT, but I know is a great game. Vice City is amazing, I still play it from time to time. Same with San Andreas (but I like VC the most). Bully is fun and Manhunt too. About Midnight club 2, I don't think you can travel back in time and get it for free, and I don't know if it's a good game, never played it.

It doesn't have the GTA games. http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/us/en/pc/games/action/rockstar-bundle/

Dumbass

MP3 is pretty, but a single playthough on easy was sufficient for me. (I'm not an fps fan though) LA Noire needs the caveat, that it may not work for you.

I played a bit of MC2 back on PS2 and it was perfectly fine.

Well, it's only a matter of time before GTA V comes over, right? I mean there were specific reasons for RDR not getting ported, but they've done 2 PC ports since then. But I get what you're saying. I have RDR and GTA V on console, so I'm alright with waiting as long as the MSRP reflects the wait.

Yeah, Bully got an upgrade to the "Scholarship Edition" that was released on 360 and Wii, as well (which is why the Bully original Xbox port was cancelled). The annoying thing is that there's still arguments over which version is better (because the 360 has better graphics, but a host of bugs, and the Wii version lacks most of the bugs, but has SD graphics and motion controls (which can be a positive or a negative depending on the person)), and I've read that the PC version was a mess at release because Rockstar couldn't optimize for shit, though I imagine it's much better now.

Like ashes said, it doesn't include the GTA games, and even if it did I have all of the GTA games on Steam from winning a contest on a forum that isn't this one (was supposed to win Dark Souls: PTD too, but the person changed their mind and I didn't wanna push the issue).

I have little doubt GTA V shows up on PC eventually (as well as PS4/XBO). I just hope it is a competent port, unlike GTA IV. I'll wait.

I played $5@BB Bully Scholarship (PC) back when and it ran just fine for me then. I do hear that some people have issues with it. I don't have enough reports to say anything definitive for present day. (Some other bad ports run just fine with the power of semi-modern hardware, e.g. DMC 3.) I read the PC and "updated" 360 versions are basically the same. PC versions are almost always superior due to modding potential.

Nothing here...

But I have 2 x 25% Pixel Piracy, 2 x 75% Grimind, 1x 40% Luftrausers and 1x 10% Toki Tori 2. Oh, and 6x Epidemic. I think I got enough Karma already

Rockstar has never made a game worth playing unless you happen to met the target audience. Are you 12 and does the idea of running over a people for 300 hours sound appealing? If not, seek other games.

Carmageddon is a much better running-people-over simulator.

Those moral degenerates at Amazon sold me Manhunt II last May.
I've had it from Direct2Drive (which is now GameFly) for quite the long time [since D2D sold AO games].

Even though GameFly won't sell it (b/c it's AO) - it's still archived for download from their servers. :D

EDIT:

Bully is still the best game Rockstar has made, and that's just because I enjoy watching fat kids piss themselves.I
I also thought Bully PC was great - as long as you could get it freaking going.

Though, Rockstar's put out a lot of great titles - all the GTA's (since GTA3); Max Payne 3; LA Noire; and of course Bully.

I just wish their PC ports were more consistent on the technical side, 'cause God knows what to expect from them. I hope they'd be more like the fantastic Max Payne 3 PC port.

GTA2 was really dope too. I played the shit out of the dreamcast version as a kid.

Fellow CAGs I have a dilemma I need some guidance on. I currently have enough GMG fake monies to purchase Bound by Flame at the current pre-order sale price. I believe I would play this game immediately instead of throwing it on the backlog as per my normal purchase. Given the slow, in my opinion, drop of Spiders other game Mars:War Logs I don't know if I should wait since I am hyped for the game. Problem is the game could totally suck and have a ton of bugs as War Logs did. My other option is to round out my Rockstar collection with the current sale and still have roughly $20 fake monies left. CAGs what do I do? It should be noted if I did not have this fake money I would not buy Bound by Flame with real funds.

If you actually want to play it - and it sounds like you do - than price doesn't matter. Buy it, enjoy it, tell us all to wait for a bundle.

Especially since you have GMG bux, I'd say go for it.

Buying a game you actually want to play? Nonsense!

Think of all the free crap you could backlog indefinitely with those PF bucks though!

Spiders make some of the worst RPG's I've ever played. They all suffer from the same problems: horrible FOV, small and linear maps, very limited enemy variety, and extremely dull MMO/cool down style combat. Yet with all that said, they have some kind of irresistible charm to them and I just can't resist buying them at release for nearly full price. I say embrace the hot trash and go for it! I already did.

Since you're hyped and intend to play it immediately I'd say go for it. I like the Focus-published RPGs too for some reason, and was considering picking Bound by Blame up as well. Only thing really holding me back is having a pile of other good games looking at me. Still banging away at GMG-pirated Dark Souls 2, really need to get back to MMX and finish that, still got Blackguards looking at me, etc. Probably SHOULD wait, but I've also got that urge to immediately jump into it. And it's GMG dubloons instead of cash.

Also I dunno about Mars totally sucking. It was definitely the worst of 'em (I'd rate them at roughly Game of Thrones, Orcs, Mars) but I had a reasonable time with it. Since this one has a heftier price tag I'm hoping that's indicative of a higher budget since that seemed to be what hurt Mars the most. Later areas weren't nearly as nice as the prison, didn't flesh out the branching paths as much as they should have, etc.

Hmm, I just read some archived topics on the issue and it seems modders did a lot of the heavy lifting for the game, but maybe you just had a good rig at the time and those people didn't.

Ugh, I want Multi-Massacre because I have Buckets of Blood from a bundle but not at that price. Bundle or bust!

So, since you all care so much, another Battlepillars update. Annoying thing about the game is that once you beat each boss, the difficulty spikes a great deal, which means you need to buy/upgrade/start using a better weapon. Since the rewards for beating levels sucks after you beat them the first time, this leaves you having to grind against the previous boss stage (since it offers the most upgrade points) until you can afford the new weapon/afford upgrading it to level 3 (cost for deploying weapons doesn't change based on their upgrade level, so most weapons suck until you get them to level 3 which is the max level).

Not digging the grind, but this is partly because I'm playing the game to finish (so I'm spending my upgrade points on other things aside from my base, which is one of the least important things to upgrade if you're playing the game right). If you're playing the game just to unlock the first and second rewards achievement, the second boss is a great point to grind the upgrade points to finish upgrading your base because it doesn't have instant-kill attacks like boss 3, and it provides a decent amount of points per replay in a quick amount of time once you know what you're doing.

If you're having trouble with the game/speedrunning the second boss in between 1 - 3 minutes, I'll tell you my strategy over Steam if you have me added and ask (if not feel free to add me, Steam ID is same as username here).
