WHAT TIME IS IT?

That's how it feels like when Activision put up Call of Duty on sale.

At least $9.99 is more reasonable for those older Call of Duty titles, as they're finally in the Top Sellers list with World at War at #9 and the $30 Black Ops II at #5. The last I saw of that list was the ~$40 Ghosts Gold Edition at #13 as the top-selling Call of Duty game on sale. You know your prices are too high for older games when they don't even crack the top 20 amongst a bunch of full-priced games.

Anyone know if the Star Wars games on sale on Gamefly activate on Steam? Particularly the Lego Star Wars games since they're not on sale on Steam, and it's $10 for both with the MAY20OFF coupon. I don't see anything on their product pages about Steam but I thought I'd verify here in case someone took a chance with them.

Hmm, thanks for the heads-up on that. I've read of technical issues with it.
You're welcome.

And yes - for me, the game ran like trash, at all stuff on High on my rig (i7 950; 1 GB of GF GTX 560 Ti; 8 GB RAM; Win 7 64-bit) in DX11 Mode. Looked gorgeous, though - but for me it's so not worth the crazy framerate jumps + dips. Otherwise, it was all over the place - anywhere from 20-60 frames wildly. There's too many slow-downs, stutters, and speed-ups and speed-downs to make it even worse playing - w/ the framerate that much all over the place at those settings. Inconsistent.

So, dipped it down to DX9 Mode.

Runs better, but not where I'd like it. 1920x1080 res', Textures on Medium, Shadows on High, got SSAO stuff off, and all of that jazz.

Had to jump into INI to turn-off some other Occulision settings that's not in the game-menu (this other Occlusion setting is always on - unless you turn it off in the INI), to get the frames round 50-60 frames per sec' consistently.

That did the trick.

Now, if I could get a solution to this "crash every 23 minutes problem", I'd really be digging the crap out of this like I should be.

This game doesn't deserve to be pulled-down by these foolish and crappy technical issues.

Damn technical issues.

Gameplay-wise, this so far to me has been the best SC since Chaos Theory, IMHO. Take the advancements of Conviction [Mark And Execution; better graphics technically - if you can get it running; faster pace - if you want to play it that way; etc]; put back everything that made CT so great (i.e. you want to play steatlhy 100% or if need be get into a shootout and you'll survive - go ahead); put back in the staples that made SC what it was (now you can once again drag and hide bodies); different directions/paths within mission/area on how to approach any area and make your way through it; have side-missions that have varying mission types (Horde Mode type of mission where waves of enemies come at you; do an Online Co-Op Mission of some kind; do missions forcing you to NOT be seen/caught; etc); get scored based on how you play (like Hitman: Absolution); ability to upgrade equipment (that's all based on how you play: what you do + find in the game-world; and any other main/side objectives - then you'll make more $).

The good news is Return to Castle Wolfenstein is $2.50 on the daily -- you can buy it and play a real shooter versus Cowadoody.

I remember reading a piece someone wrote about how their high prices are a way they're trying to discourage PC gaming in favour of consoles because they have more control when it comes to a closed platform.
The only thing they are "discouraging" with this tactic is me buying the games at all. I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way either.

I don't think you know what CAG is all about. It's not about getting everything for the cheapest possible price years after it came out. It's about getting the games you want at the price you're willing to pay.

I don't think suggesting that $9.99 is more reasonable than $14.99 is a crazy thing to say since they're factually selling better now that they lowered the prices, though they could have charged $0.99 each and I'd still pass on them. I'd have gotten Prototype 2 for $15 or less, not $26.

I agree (to an extent), but only because I just spent $9.99 on CoD:WaW because it's been on my wishlist longer than I'd like. And FYI, Prototype 1 & 2 + DLC was bundled by Amazon at $7.50 and two days later at $9.99. Also know the Steam thread here is about on par with your PSN thread, just with different characters, if you catch my meaning.

Shrek is in the Sense of Right Alliance now? Damn, they'll let anyone in these days.

A whole 50% discount on 10+ year old games? How generous of them.
You forgot the yellow comic sans.

Umm, No. Getting games at prices they are willing to pay is just someone waiting for what they want to go on sale. You Sir, don't know what being a CAG is all about. Some people are willing to pay retail, that sure as hell doesn't make them a CAG. Real CAG's feel free to co-sign.

I know how to mess with all of the trolls here. See how they just start going overboard with colored text and hashtags now?

That Prototype sale isn't going on right now, is it? I wish the Amazon thread wasn't just a dead weight hanging from the top of the forum with nothing useful in the OP. They need to unsticky that thread until they're ready to do something with it.

This is what happens when the noobs think they can take over the asylum.

Begone #ConsolePeasant

Then that wasn't a very helpful tip since I didn't have a PC capable of playing until two months ago. :whistle2:(
Friendly advise. Take it.

CAG got taken down for that? If that's the case then we do that daily. What do they want us to do? "Hey guys, this midweek madness is great this week!"

Yes, a lot of devs promise this and the worst part is, some people think I'm something to do with all of them!

Yes.

Whatever the reason, our group definitely wasn't the only one doing it and it's pretty annoying that they just did it without notice instead of trying to contact me. I've put a tonne of work into the group, working on it most evenings and they just flick the switch.
check cag and Steam after a few days and here was my reaction

I post this alot, maybe I have anger issues

Time to go self medicate with moonshine.

And it looks like a they are trying to unite ETS2 & ATS under the same engine/assets so they share improvements.

As a local this shot bothers me... the sun would never be in that position, nor cast those shadows... also fog only on the bay-side of the bridge -- wtf. The north tower (the closer one) is too far out in the water, and lateral bracings are missing on the towers below the deck. The north anchorage is completely missing.

Here's a similar shot.

why you edit out the birds in the bottom pic?

For any Seattle area CAGs, there is going to be an iFest (indie game festival) on Saturday:

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ifest-2014-seattle-tickets-10727834241

Free to attend I think.

I think I might try to make it this year since I missed it last year.
well according to this map, Seattle is only about 9 inches away from Texas.

see you in 5.
