This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Yes, quite the endorsement. "It's occasionally worth it when you can get it as cheap as possible" should go into their marketing.

That was after you listed weak justifications for why GWG is better, even though the same knocks against PSN apply to XBL. I would have called somebody out for the same sort of nonsense in Tanuki's PSN deals thread.

I don't know if Sony has made any official statements on this matter, but it seems to me that they can't keep the PS3 servers up forever, and when it goes down I'm assuming your PS+ free games go as well. I'm the kind of collector/gamer that has a mountainous backlog, and a shelf full of cases. I don't mind playing years-old games, so GWG appeals to me more. I value game ownership and long-term replayability.

However, the sales for PS+ members are occaisionally great deals, and its worth using a trial code or a paid month (at greatly reduced cost from retail) just to snap up a few exclusives and own them forever. If you're the kind of person that plays through a game once and probably never again, then PS+ is a killer deal. You could have a PS3 and a Vita, nothing on the shelf and STILL have too many games to play.
I said GWG was a good fit for me, and PS+ was a good fit for other gamers. Not even mad. You're going to have to do better than that.

Count me among those who hope MS switches over to the PS+ model.  I will gladly take games no longer working if your gold expires in exchange for newer better games.

I don't really care how they do it. I've been an XBL subscriber since the beginning and I won't ever let it lapse, I'm sure. Unless they shit down the 360 servers before I decide it's worth it to get an XB1 (that'll be when Rocksmith figured out a way to go to next gen OR when Rock Band comes back with a "play your own guitar" version like Rocksmith). Otherwise, I'm quite happy staying on 360.

Are Skullgirls or Fez any good? I want to try both of those.

Phil Fish is a dingus but whatever.
Skullgirls is fun. I played it on Steam during one of the free weekends and I'm waiting for under $5 Xbox sale. I wouldn't give any money to be Phil. I think Fez was fixed or at least it was supposed to be, not sure if it was.

The second half of Fez was way too obscure for me.  I basically had to look up all the solutions.  Definitely drained all the fun out of the game.

Also the in-game map is terrible.

You gave up. It's actually not that hard to figure out the puzzles of the game. I played it when it came out and got all cubes, and this was before there were faqs/guides all over the net. I've still yet to feel that kind of accomplishment in a game aside from maybe Legend of Zelda.

Finally played the last update for WoT, and God... If we have any good sales this monday, Wargaming will be held responsible for my backlog's growth.

FEZ got glitched for me, never went back. Shame, I actually loved it but the BS from that dude, sorry I have no motivation to go back and start ALL OVER AGAIN.

I Didn't care for Fez either. Mostly because the overworld and getting from place to place felt like such a chore, especially with a map system that was super vague in telling you where and how to get from place to place. If it had just given me levels and just let me get this shit over with instead of constantly going through the wrong doors in trying to find where to go next, than I'd have enjoyed the game alot more.

There is no way I can believe you solved the security question without a guide.

I got 32 cubes and 33 anti-cubes (glitch, supposed to be 32) before there were guides and patches. The timestamps on my achievements will prove it, for the most part. I can't really prove that there were no guides the week it came out, but trust me, there wasn't. I'd imagine it took a while for a lot of us to figure it all out, but I indeed did without any guides. I did exchange information with people on various message boards though, i will admit that.

Oh, now I know what you're talking about. Yeah, I deciphered the whole alphabet and wrote that down as well. The Fez notes in one of my notebooks, to look back on, is quite entertaining. Lots of notes haha.

EDIT: So I looked cause I figured no one would want to, and it says I got the last 2 offline, but the rest have the timestamps. You're just gonna have to trust that I didn't wait weeks/months and come back to it just for the last 2 achievements after guides were made, which surely I didn't.

No, it's not really about me insisting the point, it's the fact that I hear people all the time say, "Fez can't be beaten without a guide" Bullshit. I'm just going to be blunt here, quit fucking being so dumb and stop and think and you can do it. It is possible. You may have to write things down.

The complaints about the glitching, freezing, world map, phil fish, etc. stuff I totally understand, so if that's your problem then I'm totally with you. Even though I never had too many glitching issues but the extra anti-cube.

I doubt anyone cares if you're lying enough to warrant this level of insistence.
It's insistence as much as these other people that post their walls of texts are insisting you read their thoughts.

I made one reply with a picture. :bigdeal:

My exgirlfriend beat it the few days after it released, no guides. She was smart as hell, kept a journal for it, always taking notes. Having seen most of it is why I haven't even started it yet.

I believe you, specifically because you did do it in the first week (Fez released on 360 first), La Mulana requires you to take notes in the same way. This kind of thing is why game manuals used to have a section in the back for notes.

I doubt anyone cares if you're lying enough to warrant this level of insistence.
He's probably just really proud of all the hard work he did on his own, and feels insulted to be called a cheater. I'd get defensive too.

Would not be surprised that your ex could beat it that quick or that she was that smart considering I know where you meet women. :p

Well bloody hell, that's rather impressive. Wasn't attempting to call you out on lying, but that puzzle was so obscure that I'm baffled anyone figured it out, so well done on that.

Last game I took notes on was Wind Waker. Made a whole map because I was sick of getting lost. Then I found out you could feed a fish or something with a fish to make an in-game map. Much time wasted.

Lol I did that for Dune II. I got out graph paper and planned my base -- In Dune II you only have so much space on rock that you can build since buildings would sink in the sand -- for Level 9. Oh what a fun fun f'n level that was!

That kind of dedication though was when I was a kid, ain't nobody got time for dat now! :shame:

Fez is an incredibly boring game and I don't possibly get all the love people throw its way.  It's one of those things that sounds really neat and is kinda' neat the first 5 min. playing, and then you don't get very far into the game before realizing how quickly it gets very, very old.  If you liked it, that's great.  Some of us were just incredibly bored playing it.

I still, months later, don't get the constant PS/GWG comparisons.  I was a Gold subscriber before and was fine.  Now I get two games free a month, in addition to the rest I was already happy with.  It defies explanation that people were happy with Gold before, and then they got 2 games free a month... and suddenly that wasn't good enough.

I love that someone with a Dallas Stars avatar is jabbing someone else about early tee times,

I'm more than happy with what The Stars accomplished this year. Tom Hicks almost completely destroyed this franchise, to come back like they have is something special. They'll be a great team for years to come, with our AHL team tearing up the Calder Cup playoffs. Your Griffins know what I'm talkin about. ;-)

Yeah, the Detroit Griffins stepped up this year.

I would just like to state for the record that I grew up and live 40 mins from Pittsburgh, and although I don't really care about sports anymore I will always be a Penguins and Steelers fan.

I got free tickets to a Pens game earlier this season, which ended up being 3 rows from the ice, and it was amazing to watch. I really had a great time.

Awesome dude, hockey games are hella electric, it's amazing to feel everyone there all cheering or going OOOHHhhhhh when the puck just misses the net, in person.

Ya, and the players getting checked into the wall right in front of you is so surreal. It's such a visceral experience when you're that close.
Even if you don't care about the teams, it's definitely worth experiencing.

I'm a fan of the aforementioned "Cryers" (omg what a zinger). Going into the 40th year since the last Cup blows. Hockey is awesome, but she's a fickle beast.

Oh, and just to keep this kinda on topic, I'll probably never play Fez, or at least no sooner than the Flyers next title.

My attempt at spending some of my 300 available Microsoft Fun Bucks ended a month ago.  The CAGs remaining since called the great DLC sale The Xbox Spring Sale.  They lived only to face a new nightmare: Microsoft's treatment to those wanting more discounts on the best available 360 content.  The person reporting of discounts, Major Nelson, sent 2k to us then just news on 2600 cartridges.  Their mission: to turn the CAG Xbox Live deal thread against each other and make us realize the real monster: man.  They succeeded.

The last time I spent was during the spring sale with all the DLC discounted, and fortunately, I dropped to free/silver since while there was little offered to my interest in the weeks that followed for gold members.  However, there are still many pockets of content I am willing to part with all my MS fun bucks for, yet it seems unlikely that the content gets chosen due to all that I already have.  So when something new gets offered on discount, especially when the price is very low, like Scourge Outbreak and the DLC to Sacred Citadel I pay attention.  They are in that region of not-great games which I somehow cannot resist at a low price, so now I am gold again.  It also reminds me I really should get Sacred 2 off my 360 backlog as well when the sequel is due out for the 360 sometime soon.  I was also glad to get some free Minecraft content, especially ones that were delisted before I got the game (it didn't have a discount, so I had to win it from PlayXBLA way later).  I also bit on the skins given the low price, now I just wish for the mash-up and Marvel packs to receive the discount treatment as well.  As for my likely incorrect prediction for the upcoming week in deals, I think it is Ubisoft's turn since I cannot think of a holiday coming to associate a deal of the week.

I appreciate the constant updates on this thread to what will be delisted.  It is the problem with buying digital items, fearing the eventual disappearance of content availability.  While I did not purchase Burgertime: World Tour, I am secretly hoping I made a wise decision that I would just be more miserable with another title in the backlog which will never get out.  The rhythm game delistings, limited timed free items (like Skullgirls characters), and hidden discounts (it seems like under the dashboard Sales & Specials tab, the season passes appear to be priced less than xbldb lists them at; for the past couple weeks yet there was only one mention of it on this thread), or silly glitched reduced prices like the Dragonball Z game staying discounted many weeks after, are all great news to pass along on this thread.  So I can't wait until Monday night (US) to catch the next bit of discount news, it'll be a nice change of pace from all the sports posts the Xbox Live deals thread has switched over to due to lack of quality discounts.

While it has been said on this thread that Killer Instinct is fire for generation 8 systems, I just feel that being the only fighter that is exclusively on a generation 8 console doesn't qualify it as fire when there's many more I already like and look forward to.  Don't get me wrong, it is surprisingly competent of a fighter, I still don't see it as a reason to make a costly (for me) switchover [I don't have any friends who will give me an X1, nor friends who'd co-op with me on 360 games anymore too ... I'm so ronery, so ronery] from the older systems for my fighting game fix.  Especially when there's still so much I am looking forward to which I am more hyped about.  Titles including Persona 4 Ultimax (woot! confrimed for US 360), Arcana Heart 3 Love Max (woot! confirmed for US), Blade Arcus, Koihime Enbu, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, and of course Ultra Street Fighter 4, all of which I have a greater interest in and I think are possible to run smoothly without a 8th generation console.  Fire  ^^.

I am glad to hear that Pier Solar HD is back on the plate for XBLA and I await Super Time Force.  It is nice that there's a new buildup of XBLA games I want on discount again.  With The Raven (and its DLC chapters), Assassin's Creed Liberation HD, Walking Dead Season 2 pass, Halo: Spartan Assault, Far Cry Classic, Constant C, Batman Blackgate, Trials Fusion, Dustforce, Child of Light, and Peggle 2, there's a lot of discounting that needs to happen.  I know some of those are brand new (and I already chose to pay full for Strider based on personal hype alone), but it is not like there isn't anything for the Live team to choose from.  So I hope this coming week we find something we love on discount, otherwise they would be tearing us apart.

Mothers are tough.

Tonight is date night, I wonder if I'll add something to my backlog before downloading Saints Row 3 this coming friday.
