I don't get the qualifier about fighting on a fixed plane though. Aren't fighting games like Soul Calibur, Virtua Fighter and Dead or Alive based on free movement around an entire arena?
Well obviously for 3D fighters a fixed plane isn't possible, but a small arena function similarly. I just mean I don't think every game with fighting game mechanics should be called a fighting game (for example Guacamelee has a rather well designed fighting system, but it's obviously not a "fighting game").

Nidhogg and Blade Symphony I would probably include, it's just that the further you branch away from what the genre has been established as the less saying a game is part of it even matters.

I'm going to assume it sold well on PC because the sequel (Ninja Storm Revolution) is seeing a simultaneous launch with the console versions
I didn't know a sequel was already coming :D

And yeah, I'm hoping that sales from the Naruto series will encourage them to bring a few more of their bigger series' to PC. I'd love to see the next Soul Calibur show up on Steam, With DOA and Tekken following closely behind.

Yup. Ninja Storm Revolution for 360/PS3/PC is due sometime in September.

Unfortunately, DoA is published by Tecmo-Koei who I think we've established only have 2 games up on Steam (Yaiba and Dynasty Warriors). If Dynasty Warriors sold well enough, maybe, but I can't imagine Yaiba did.

I'm hugely amused by your "no, my dad can beat up your dad" fighting game discussion.

:newbie:
I have Oblivion GotY and Skyrim Legendary on 360, and I've played Morrowind. Would be nice to try out the first two and own Morrowind.

Yeah I was debating hate pennying it.. but I don't think I can. Besides, they make me go through some ridiculous captcha (which is worse than the normal captcha) whenever I hate penny.
I just hit the reload button on the captcha until I get something that resembles text. (I'm also considering paying $1.01 when I dollar-in just to avoid that damn captcha.)

Injustice is a lot more similar to Mortal Kombat. I'm not a huge fan of the fighting mechancis of MK, but I love the DC characters so I bought it.
I finished Story Mode for Injustice - took about 5 hours on Medium. It was a blast. :D

I've been doing Battles.

I picked Classic sub-sets - i.e. the old MK style random opponent ladder until you reach final boss. Geez - like MK, Injustice seems like every character got an ending.

That could be a bloody time-sink and a half, if I decide to do every character!

And that ain't counting STARS game mode, either - ain't looked at that.

Ain't touched the MP, either.

Injustice kicks ass.

STARS will take you a while, and some of the STARS challenges will make you tear your hair out. I suggest only trying to 3 star everything if you're either a major Flash fan or have OCD about unlocking everything.

Played this on PS3. Story mode was great, and, seemingly for the first time in the character's long history, Aquaman kicked ass. The battles are okay for a while, but they get boring fairly quick. The STAR Labs missions start out okay, but again, devolve into something that's more aggravating than fun.

Bear in mind, I'm not great at these kinds of games, so if you find it super-easy to do the various trick moves of different characters, YMMV.

You mean your name isn't really Ashes and you're not a kitty? :whistle2:o
Nope, that's true. But I don't have any papers to prove it. This place is crazy. I mean you need to papers to prove that you were born. Are you daft? If I wasn't born, I wouldn't be scowling at you right now.

So, after staring at cases the past week and some additional options added from here the other day, I thought I'd get the peanut gallery's opinions.  After re-evaluating my build, I've narrowed it down to 5 options...CM HAF 932 Advanced, CM Storm Trooper, CM HAF XB Evo, Corsair 650D and the NZXT Phantom 630.  The 932 seems to have proven airflow design.  The Trooper has probably my favorite finish of the bunch. I really like the layout of the XB, but I might or might not mod it for holding additional 3.5" drives.  The 650D is a simple, but functional design and the phantom has a door (which I like because it doesn't block the front fan).  My eyes/brain hurt from reading specs and watching youtube vids.

I know there is a PC section of the forum, but that is where questions go to die.

I don't know what the hell Koei is doing. They haven't even bothered to put Romance of the Three Kingdoms 11 on Steam even though there's a PC version already in English that they've been selling on Gamersgate for years.

Air Control steam keys are now up on Groupees.
I can't. I just can't.

Only thing I ask is that the lurker that gets it give it a bad review that we all know it deserves.

You should count yourself lucky. Some of us have to wait until teatime to get our daily dose of disappointment.

So you think console peasant is a more flattering title than newbie here in the Steam thread, eh?

Whatta :newbie: .

That said, I don't have any TES games, period, though mostly because that style of game really doesn't interest me. I have decided that if Legendary gets under $10, or Anthology gets under $20, I'll bite just to say I've tried it, but I'm not expecting to enjoy it.

Especially since most FPP games make me sick.

It's more like a Legend of Zelda clone.
Pretty much.

Key's been lurked. We'll see if they end up giving it a bad Steam review.

If you have specific questions about the 650D I can probably help.

I considered the Phantom and Corsair cases when I did my last build. They both get solid reviews. I don't know much about the CM cases, but I think the Stromtrooper looks solid. My taste tends to run more to the simple, elegant designs. Build flexibility, quiet, and airflow were my key concerns. What kind of cooling are you considering?

While it's not one of your listed ones, I greatly enjoy my Rosewill Blackhawk. Definitely proven for cooling, just a slight tight for some of the larger heatsinks. Also does go on sale, I got it for $60 during a black friday weekend sale.

How much room is behind the folding front panel? Enough that I could install my Logitech Unifying dongle and keep the door closed? It protrudes about 1/2".

Those are my concerns as well. I'm just sticking with a simple air setup. I actually have more issues with HDD heat in my current case than anything else, though I think the new build will lessen that issue since I'll likely go with fewer larger size drives in a RAID setup.

Huh, I do like that top mount hot swap connector. I was looking at the Thor, but that is more case than I need even though it is reasonably priced and the Armor Evo, but I just don't like the way it looks.

Edit: And damn you for making me look at another case.

We did it! (QUBE)

Hey guys, we've received tons of emails asking for game keys, which will take some time to go through. So instead of sending a game key to each person, we're looking to make the game free for all existing players. To let you know, putting a price tag on the game for previous owners was never a scam opportunity (we also hate those things) but a business decision that has clearly turned out to be a mistake. We would rather have a bunch of happy fans that enjoy playing our games so thanks for letting us know that we screwed up. We'll make sure we inform the community before we make any rash decisions in the future. Regarding having Director's Cut as dlc, we'll see if we can merge that with the original but can't promise anything just yet.
We've contacted Valve to make the game free for existing users so it should pop up in your Steam library early next week. We'll keep you posted and put a sticky up when it’s ready.

Playing Cook, Serve Delicious (Android App bought the the bazillion coins Amazon has been handing out)

So awesome!

(9 AM) First customer of the day comes in...Orders a Beer

Me: I understand buddy, going to be a rough day for ya.
Cook, Serve, Delicious is a great timewaster type game, really enjoyed the PC version.

Also Dust on sale ^^, assuming it's had to been bundled before (too lazy to check on my phone). Still bought it one of the sales and love it, combat though was just okay. Granted I like furries soooo...might be bias oh and Fidget is awesome (dunno why some find her annoying, unless they played just 5 minutes).

They had me at RIDING A FRIGGIN chicken!

I purposely posted it to Reddit and the feed of a well known Game hoarder collector who meticulously keeps track of every game that gives keys and pretty much everywhere else I could find exactly for that reason. I wanted their email box to get blown up to prove a point that their method was ridiculous and they either needed to shit and give everyone the update or get off the pot, say no and take the flak for it (they previously promised Director's Cut would be free but then tried to go back on that).

PS - We should probably start setting our sites on the Metro 2033 Redux.

I can try it right now with my Logitech K800 keyboard plug thing.

It doesn't come close to fitting.

Whoa I started typing before plugging the dongle back in, cause I forgot... and when I plugged it in some of that typing appeared on the screen!

I'd like to say few words on Collapse, since it's only $5 this weekend (less if you speak with any number of your friendly neighborhood Russian sellers).

Obviously, it feels a little dated. The gameplay (so far) consists of shooting gun toting enemies, then moving on to small, almost arena like areas where you get to go toe-to-toe with a bunch of sword wielding armored Russians. The swordplay is fairly lackluster, with little weight behind your swings nor anything in the way of combos other than holding the arrow key in a specific direction for the duration of your onslaught. Still, it isn't bad, it's just not DMC.

The shooting is surprisingly competent, although enemies are bullet sponges, much like yourself, so at least the odds are relatively even. But they will move around, rather than always staying behind the same wall, peaking out now and then. At least, sometimes they do. Some enemies will stand in place while they shoot at you, while others have no problem sneaking up behind you while your attention is drawn by another.

I haven't played a whole lot, myself, just the prologue and a bit of the first chapter, so some mechanics have yet to unlock for me. I can say that the couple of monster designs that I've seen are pretty neat. They're not really gory in any way, which I've often thought was kind of a cop-out for more unimaginative artists.

Truth be told, I'm gonna keep playing. I'm digging the world, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the story plays out, and what new weapons I can get.

So far, I'll give it a solid 3 Brutici out of 5, at least until some bullshit mechanics show up to ruin the fun.

Lol. Thanks for checking. As small as an issue as that is, I just can't get my Logitech keyboard/trackball to work consistently when I install the dongle in the rear USB ports. I guess it's a combination of distance and interference from the 275,872 other wireless devices in my room.

So... since people have been talking about specs... Anyone need a good laugh?

I keep one of those on a USB extender cable brought forward from the rear ports... better reception... and to easily borrow it for other computers. I don't remember for sure it it was iffy on the rear on not... but I keep my DS3-bluetooth dongle pugged into front ports on my Antec P182 for reception.

I hated 5:4 resolutions back when monitors in that ratio were still being SOLD. How the frig do you have one to this day?

I can't remember the last time I actually paid money for a monitor? :p

Tbh, it's on my list after GPU and PSU. It's really not a big deal to me though right now.
