re: WGN promos

I noticed some of his recent keys for votes promos were a limited number and went pretty quick. Dungeongate and that Wizard Chicken game too. Might have been another in between, I can't recall.

It would be nice to know if there's a limited quantity up front but for now I hop on them right away when I see them.

Mobile notifications might be nice too. *shrug*

Murdered Soul Suspect isn't looking that bad.

Spoilers, Mostly cut-scenes. not that much of gameplay.
I've not really bee following this but I'm pretty impressed with it. (I could deal without some of the silliness in the main characters background but its not a deal breaker.)

I'm sort of curious how much it opens up... In that video I almost felt more like I was watching a movie than watching someone playing the game. (The comparison to Heavy Rain seem more than fair. Hopefully, its not a crap fest of plot holes like HR was.)

Still I'm tempted to do the AMD reward also... Just not a whole lot on the list to be honest.

I'm glad when I got my AMD video card last year they had better games going than that for their free games. AC IV, Batman Arkham Origins and Splinter Cell Black List Deluxe (that one got spodered ) I'd say are a good deal more enticing than some $15 indie zombie game with bad reviews. Nvidia really needs to step it up.
Well, the promo certainly isn't as good right now... but what new games have really come out of late? Not really all that much.

Awesome deal. Glad a CAG snagged one!

I've been tempted on bidding on the Daylight ones that have been floating around from Nvidia, but that game has such bad reviews all around I think I'll just wait for a bundle.
Yeah, definitely wait for a bundle or getting it on the cheap. I bought a Steam gift copy for $5 so it wasn't a horribly misaligned purchase, but I just wasn't too impressed with it overall. I really wanted to like it and was hoping for something good but it falls short. If I didn't know and someone told me after playing that this game was made with the new Unreal 4 engine I wouldn't have believed them. The textures were not great and I kind of expected a lot more to be honest, as it felt like a filtered tech demo in the end.

Playing it in the dark with headphones does help since it's heavy on the environment and a jump-scare horror based game. It did feel really similar to Amnesia but far less creative without the ability to sneak or hide. The procedurally generated levels were a very interesting idea for a horror/survival based game. I liked that addition as it would help with the replay value if there was a need to do so.

Unless you've run out of horror games to play then I'd wait for a sale. Also keep in mind one needs a DX11 capable video card to run Daylight, even though this game could've easily looked the same using the Unreal 3 engine.

I rate this game 3.6 cornish game hens out of a baker's dozen.

Here was my long-ass review Of Orcs & Men review back from the old GamersGate thread...

...And the game has some good points but I can't really recommend it until it has an MSRP drop so you can get it for $5.[/spoiler]
Thanks, that makes me feel better about waiting.

Reading about the whole "THERE'S A GHOST, USE THIS ITEM" thing just killed it for me. Sounds like a big PITA.

Pretty much. There's also a glitch that once I discovered it destroyed any remaining illusions that I might die. If a "ghost" was chasing you it doesn't hurt you if you don't turn around. So if you need to escape from a dead end you could just backup. Say what!? Yeah, I guess if you can't see the "ghost" then it can't harm you (sigh). Also, flares and glow stick supply bags or boxes are endless in quantity. Glow sticks reveal clues and flares destroy "ghosts".

Edit: I'm not sure if a recent update has fixed that glitch or not since last I played.

Looks like I dodged a bullet then. I was actually considering pre-ordering before I knew it was in the Nvidia promo.

Yeah, it sucks when game mechanics ruin the scare factor of games. Stupid too, because something like that should have been easily avoidable in development if they knew what they were doing.

I still need to finish Amnesia. Honestly that game is such a stressful experience.

So, thanks for everyone's insight, but I've decided to go with a case I hadn't mentioned before, the Corsair Air 540.  I just really like the cube form factor and separation of components..  Instead of my intended gaming+everything else rig, I'll just make this a gaming only rig and probably convert my current rig into a server.

I have been playing a bit of Space Hulk this weekend. Only played the first 3 levels (tutorial) and until now, is a very solid tactical game. Can't tell about the tabletop comparison, never played it.

That being said, you'll need patience and a lot of love for tactics and TBA games. I don't usually have patience, unless it is for tactics and TBS, so I'm loving this game so far.

Man, I just spent the day having one of the funnest gaming sessions I've had in a while. Thanks to Parallacks and DrSasquatch for joining in!

I'll say it again, the private server really changes Infestation/WarZ into something pretty fun. It's definitely not worth the money, but if they ever come to their senses and drop the price I'll consider it.

At the end it was crazy. I found a dune buggy, drove over to pick up Sasquatch and went to loot a building. While we're looting someone logs on and sends out a distress call, they are trapped in a post office with a swarm of zombies. We split up so Sasquatch can get more loot, I drive over, empty my clip to kill 5 zombies, beat the other 3 to death and rescue the guy and then drive him back to meet up with Sasquatch. Pretty great way to end it, sucks that the other guy logged out right after that, but I'll definitely be playing a lot of the game during this week.
Couldn't have said it better myself. That buggy was used to mow down about fifty zombies (okay, maybe ten) and got me to the safe zone with all the loot I could carry out of that building.

Blue Rose (Greenlight) and Alchemy Mysteries (Greenlight) are both on Greenlight, also. Am I saying Greenlight a lot? Greenlight!

totally worth it for game of forever garry's incident
Someone needs to do The +1 Bundle:

Garry's Incident

Air Control

Dark Matter

Earth Year 2066*

BTA/higher tier:

Infestation:Survivor Stories

Realms of Arkania HD (yes I'm still putting it in that category even after all the patches)

Maybe throw in some shitacular UIG simulators as bonuses

*yes I know EY 2066 is yanked but he could still generate keys like those Russians did with that bootleg racer game.

And to the person who missed out on that one but ends up getting this one I am also very sorry.

It says to "Give this link to your friend!" but I just can't intentionally give it to someone I know and like.

You guys are going to get this thread locked =/

Q.U.B.E. Directors Cut has appeared in my library. I'm glad the dev changed his mind (again) and gave it to all previous buyers for free.

It took a lot of grumbling and his email box getting absolutely slammed but yes glad he changed his mind, again.

Hard Truck Apocalypse is 75% off at $1.99 on a weekly deal. I was trying to find opinions on it but pretty much no one on my friends list owns it. Seems like it could be so bad it's good or just so bad it's bad. I might take the plunge...

Daily Deal:

NOTE - this game is STILL in Early Access:

Kenshi -> $11.99 @ 40% off
It has a lot of potential but it's been in development for years (well before it was on Steam). There's one guy working on it and it's nowhere near done. He's not in any hurry to get it done either. Unless you're really patient and okay with the potential that it may never get done I'd pass on it. And I say this as someone who owns it.

That reminds me of an old HP Pentium (1) server someone tried to dump on me.

Copying these here for those who don't like to visit the paradisical haven that is the GMG thread... cesspool of derpfire piracy.
