Bunch of bundled games on sale on Steam this week. Let's get this started:

Two Worlds 2 DLC ($1-tier of previously stated bundle at GamesRage)
Has anyone here actually bought the gamesrage bundle? I am thinking about getting the $1 tier JUST for the Two Worlds 2 Pirates DLC (which I somehow do not have).

I have a couple stupid questions.

1 - are they legit? ;p

2 - they give keys right? no need to link a steam account?

ETA:

I bought Pinnacle, great deal. I remember the forums were very helpful and the developer was around a lot, I would come up with requests for whether I can do some complex action with it and there would always be some solution, it was very versatile. Not sure Xpadder is quite as versatile. Never tried joy 2 key.
Pinnacle is pretty great. I downloaded the trial to modify warframe's controls a bit (stupid things the devs should do themselves, like context driven controller buttons. I got around the lack of them by making the X button reload when tapped, or USE when held. I also added double tap commands for roll and things like that. Additionally, I LOVE to be able to map that big-assed Xbox guide button to in-game functions).

I liked it so much I was actually willing to pay the $20 when the trial was over.. I then was greeted with a "Hey, do you want to buy it at $5 instead?" option & haven't looked back.

I've since used it in a bunch of other games & highly recommend it to those who want to use a controller with games that don't natively support them, or just to add functionality that doesn't exist in games that do.

1 -Yes

2 - Yes, keys. No steam account linking involved.

Yeah they're fine. No linking. I think only Humble and now Gala do that.

Gamesrage even gives keys after the fact for stuff that gets in through Greenlight or on Desura (that previously wasn't there). They gave out Steam keys for Nightmares from the Deep and Cinders and Desura keys for The Few well after their first bundle ended.

 @ Bioware for not putting controller support into PC versions of their newer games that were so blatantly obviously designed with consoles in mind.
It makes absolutely NO SENSE for dev's to remove controller support on a PC-version, when XBox 360/XB1 console-version has it. If it's a UI thing - then they can even have two different UI's, if need be: one for KB/mouse, one of gamepad.

Plus - more different ways to play, the better. Choice for the gamer is always good, IMHO.

From a business standpoint - If BioWare and EA really wanted to pull more console-gamers into double-dipping on PC-version, I think it would be in their best interesting to have controller support on the PC-version.

EDIT:

LMFAO @ the below statement from Motokl. :D

I once read a comment by a Bioware employee on their forums when questioned why Dragon Age 2 didn't have controller support that they didn't want to "ruin the integrity of the PC version". Yeah, too late for that.

What about...? "WarZ is an epic failure." or "WarZ sure has had an epic amount of controversy."

A website where you can view and vote (up/down) on rather or not a cat looks like Hitler... There's allot of things wrong with the internet/world but, holy hell, does this prove it. (I got to go show my wife... )

Speaking of Hitler... Anyone else looking forward to History Channel's "The World Wars" mini series?
my wife actually showed me that one on her phone, made her think of mindriot lol

Pretty much. There's also a glitch that once I discovered it destroyed any remaining illusions that I might die. If a "ghost" was chasing you it doesn't hurt you if you don't turn around. So if you need to escape from a dead end you could just backup. Say what!? Yeah, I guess if you can't see the "ghost" then it can't harm you (sigh). Also, flares and glow stick supply bags or boxes are endless in quantity. Glow sticks reveal clues and flares destroy "ghosts".

Edit: I'm not sure if a recent update has fixed that glitch or not since last I played.
I thought this was common knowledge. Don't you watch Ghost Adventures? Or do you think ghosts are like these?

Interesting @ Obscure 1 + 2 are now on Steam.
Damn bought both of these boxed from Half Price Books almost 10 years ago for $2.50. I wonder if they are still glitchy. Too lazy to install anything of damn discs anymore.

Humble Daily OMG (last one)

Pay What You Want for:

  • Napoleon: Total War Art Pack

BTA Tier:

$7 Tier:

$25 Tier:

$45 Tier:

fuck I need to start my own bundle and sell every week a collection of random crappy jpgs I find on the World Wide Web.

Hard Truck Apocalypse is 75% off at $1.99 on a weekly deal. I was trying to find opinions on it but pretty much no one on my friends list owns it. Seems like it could be so bad it's good or just so bad it's bad. I might take the plunge...
You don't remember? I'm a staunch supporter of this series.

It's an open world vehicular combat RPG with different cars, weapons, and loot.

Okay, that sounds fucking amazing, right? Unfortunately it's a horrifically buggy game with the worst translations of all time, complete with voiceovers and made up expletives such as "Holy fuel!" The physics are less than amazing, you often get stuck and have to reload old saves, the AI is so bad that you can cross a bridge and they won't even bother looking for the bridge and will just plummet to their deaths in the chasm chasing after you, etc.

It's terrible... yet it's still worth overlooking the pile of flaws to see that it's a really good idea and is strangely still enjoyable. It's worth buying for the hilarious voiceovers alone, in any case.

Joy2Key blows.

I use XPadder (I got it... somewhere) and it's so easy to use and versatile that there's no point in using anything else.

Wait, all you want is the DLC?
Yep, someone here generously sent me a key since they already had it! Others offered me keys as well - thanks again to everyone! It's pretty amazing how generous most cags are. :)

I had only really asked since I didn't even remember ever hearing of a gamesrage bundle previously, I really didn't expect (any) offers, let alone as many as I got.

Damn. I wanted to send you a key for it for some free karma. :p

Just wanted to point this out since I figured it got lost in the shuffle and I know certain people would appreciate it:

Real World Racing Z - $1.99 $0.99

Because zombies make everything better!
I'd get it but....

I got that whole RWR bundle earlier ... well ... because Zombies.
Same here. Cost me $3. I know it's bundle fodder but it came with all the DLC.

Looks like No Time To Explain is getting a total makeover pretty soon, and everyone who already owns it via bundle power is gonna get No More Time To Explain absolutely free!

Which is great, because I never could beat the game thanks to a game-breaking glitch in the final world :headache:

Also, the soundtrack is now available on steam, I guess :whistle2:

In before the dev changes their mind, or edits the post to say

The game will be called NO MORE TIME TO EXPLAIN and everyone who currently owns the current version will get the updated one for $5. :)

Well, damn, dick moves by devs really unite the CAG community. Now what are we supposed to do? Be happy?

So they're never gonna fix the original game? Or will this "new" version replace the old, broken one?

Edit:

Huh, looks like reinstalling 7 in a new computer FIXED THE GAME.

So, how is Remember Me for $8 and some change (from GMG)? It seems cheap enough, but I still don't know. Will it pull and keep me away from Diablo3, at least for a few hours?

If this has already been answered, I'm a lazy bastard and don't feel like catching up on the previous 10+ pages. Hopefully there is a nonlazy bastard (or nonlazy nonbastard) that can answer this for me. Thanks! =D

I'd post my impression of Remember Me but I can't remember. :p

Go read my review on Remember Me - yes, I liked it A LOT:

http://store.steampowered.com/recommended/recommendgame/228300

Personally, I wouldn't even touch Remember Me until you finish Diablo 3.

RM is not that short of a game, IMHO.

Why you'd want to stop playing D3 if you're actually in the middle of it, that's also beyond me.

Go finish D3!!!

About Remember Me - once the ball gets rolling w/ its story and you actually have a good amount of skills + moves at your disposal, it's something you'll likely not want to let go of.

EDIT:

That's why I typed mine up - b/c my memory comes and goes.

This Toaster OS crashes, here and there.

Damn those Toaster Screens Of Death!

Borealis is an interesting idea. I'm just not really digging the visuals (a little too unexciting), which for a simple game like that is kind of important.

Though Dead Bits is a bit too far in the other direction. :p

There is no "finishing" Diablo 3

Silly Toaster.

Well, he should AT LEAST finish the current Torment Level he's on.

{shrug}

Point taken - I guess one just doesn't finish Diablo 3. ;)

Probably even more so true, w/ ROS's Adventure Mode...

That's all at least until the game gets the plug pulled, if its always-online DRM don't get pulled. ;)

There is no finishing a torment level......there is only melting more demons faster

I dropped D3 pretty much, after finishing its base-game campaign. Of course - this was all before Paragon Levels, Torment Levels, Loot 2.0, and RoS were introduced.

If I could get RoS cheap enough to suit me - that would probably get me right back into wanting to play more D3.

so....you didn't play it

the campaign is something you do once only because you have to

IMHO - maybe D3 should've been great upon its original release on Playthrough 1...

...Instead of basically being an early "Test-bed" for us PC gamers - all before the console-versions came out and before RoS expansion.

I'm NOT the type to normally replay games, do New Game Plus Modes, or any of that stuff.

I'm often always "moving onto the next game".

I know what you mean. I beat Soccer. I don't understand why anyone still plays it.

same thing happened with d2...it wasn't great until lord of destruction came out

Name me ONE video game you thought was good, disappointing, and NOT great by any means.

And b/c of that - you decided that it's not currently worth playing in the open game-world after the Main Quest has been finished, replaying straight-up (from scratch), playing at another difficulty (from scratch), playing a New Game Plus Mode, or whatever the case might be.

That's how I felt about Diablo III (base-game).

EDIT:

I bought D2 way late.

Bought both D2 + LoD together.

yes we know...if it was a bad console port you would have liked it more.

Sadly it was a port to consoles so......

D3 (base-game) was streamlined and simplified in many ways, just like many other sequels were - Deus Ex: IW + Dragon Age 2.

Sure, D3 was good - but it certainly just was NOT D2.

Not many ARPG's are D2, IMHO.

EDIT:

That still doesn't answer my question.

{waits for answer}

You're completely glossing over all the work Blizz did on the Diablo 3 base game prior to the release of Reaper of Souls. The 2.0 patch and closure of the Real-Money Auction House completely changed D3 for the better, all at no additional cost to owners of the base game. If anything, the console versions, as good as they turned out, were a test-bed for the fixes that went into the PC version.
