Anyone try out The Forest or Stomping Land? Two early access games, hmmmm
I pulled a Snakeybro and got The Forest as soon as it released. DLed, but no time to play until tonight. I'll let you know. Stomping Land looks interesting, but no zombies means that's a wait for bundle purchase for me.

Someone quote this so that frisky guy can see it. I hope he gets help.
awesome work now need this for mysterd need help hehe

So I decided to play Payday 2, looks great, but the AI... let's just say that one of my accomplices got stuck in its idle animation while in the middle of a heist. He just laid back against the wall and started smoking while in full heist mask wearing mode. The cops ignored him. Meanwhile we had an entire SWAT team on us.

I never liked that jerk.

Thanks for posting, but "ouch" those are pretty sad deals. Bad Gamefly.
Kinda makes RUUINhem and the Humble Day Drinking Fortnight look exciting.
Yea, talk about bad impression on the first day, and the coupon reduction to 15% doesn't make it any better either. If the meager 20-50% off for the Flash sales are indicative of what's to come, it's gonna be a rough 9 days.

Still raging I missed that $5 State of Derpcay glitch on Humble.  Looks like they're married to that $10 price point for a bit.

While the AI is not great at all, sometimes they just don't notice a heist has gone loud, and you just have to yell at them (look at them and press 'f') to get them to join the party.

I have come to you guys for advice, I always get some great recommendations here. What is the best wifi router? My D-Link DIR-655 has been giving me shitty range and connectivity for years. Looking at Asus RT-N66, seems like it might be the best one.

Thanks again for Defiance Dr Sasquatch. I will definitely play it once it goes free to play. Actually does it come with any free time like other MMO's do? Well either way I'll try it once the giant ass download completes. Whenever that is.

Wait - you have a Thief [2014] key and been trying to sell it at $10?

Why have you NOT contacted me about this? :p
He's had it in the Steam trade thread for a little while now.

Didn't know you were interested.

Still want it? It's not like it's a bad price, I just guess nobody wants it for whatever reason.
I thought about buying it from you, but I'm thinking it might be too linear for me and I'll probably never play it. I do agree that's a solid price though.

I'm interested in your impressions of The Forest as soon as you play it. As for another newbie question, is the price now a good one? I'm not a big fan of the whole early access concept, but if the price is going to double or so I guess I'd probably get it now too even if I hold off playing it for awhile.

Free time? There's a trial, but since you have the full game now, wat?

EDIT: Oh, it sounds like you're under the impression that it's subscription based. No, it's Buy-2-Play. Once you buy it you can play as much as you like, no fees. It's going F2P in that you won't have to buy the game at all, but if you do have a bought copy of the game you get limits removed and some extra stuff.

There is no monthly charge for it so you can start playing right away.

I'll let you know as soon as I do (tonight). There's been rare games whose price goes up after EA, and I am not a fan at all of that personally, but I have no clue as to what the devs have planned for this one.

DEWALT-DWP611PK-Torque-Variable-Compact. I assume you meant for woodworking.

You can play now. It never had a subscription plan, so going free is just taking away the cost of the game itself.

Jeez I'm a moron. Thanks for the info. Will definitely play it once it downloads then.

Hard to recommend something without knowing what functionality you require, but I've been using the same Linksys wrt54g for a decade now, and it still works like the day I got it. I'd buy whatever the new model in that line is in a heartbeat. You can also save some money and get one that's compatible with open source firmware like dd-wrt. Gives you a nice boost in features in line with more expensive models.

Best? LOL

I really like the the wireless performance on my Asus RT-N56U. (Got it for ~$50 AR around Thanksgiving.)

Just got an email with this:

hl9Xvzw.png

which reminded me that I have 8 copies of that game in my Steam inventory.

You want one? Tell me why (other than +1 or cards).
I'll piggyback on to this to again mention that I managed to grab an extra Collector's Edition if anyone wanted it and missed it. I'm not giving it away, but I will make it available at my cost.

Yeah, my WRT-54G v2 w/Tomato has been running my router needs for a decade... Supplemented with the wireless APs now for newer Wifi standards, first with a Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH some years ago and more recently with an Asus RT-N56U.

My WRT-54G will only get retired when I can get 10+ Mb access in my little backwater (3-4 miles from Facebook HQ).

I'm sure this is the wrong place to post this (in fact, I KNOW it is), but I figured I'd ask anyways since people seem helpful around here.

Has anyone tried iracing.com? I'm debating signing up for it and getting a wheel, but I'm not sure how much time I'd have to commit to it. It seems like it would require a serious time commitment for it to be any fun.

I could use one. Sadly, I didn't follow the TV series, but read about it and I'm really curious. I read the game is tied to it, and really want to see how they did that (I will watch the series very soon). Plus, I want something along TSW. TSW was my first MMORPG... and is still the only one :)

The Asus N66 is a solid choice. I have an N56 and I'm very happy with it. Good wireless signals, can hang a USB drive off it as a storage server. Gigabit switch. It depends on your needs, but I'm happy with Asus since I made the switch from the WRT54G. They do have custom firmware as well if you're into that kind of thing.

I haven't jumped on yet (I want to), but iracing is about as serious as you can get. I'd recommend getting at minimum a G27 first (probably would want to think about fanatec if you're really serious) and some sims to perfect your skills before jumping headfirst into iracing.

I've never even heard of it. Sounds cool for someone really into racing (which I am not) and with a ton of time (which I also don't have). Also looks like it can get expensive, though I like that they are up front about all their fees and their private server hosting is by the hour.

TSW and Defiance are nothing alike. Defiance is like a third person Borderlands MMO with tons of MMOy things to do, skills to unlock, randomized loot to pick up, personal vehicles, hordes and hordes of enemies, and massive cooperative boss battles around the map that anyone can jump into and start blasting away.

It's also got a solid storyline, special missions that tie into each episode of the show as they air, and all kinds of other stuff. It's got flaws, and the bullet impact could feel heavier, but it's a really cool game and even more so if you're a fan of the show like me.

Yea I figured as much. I also don't know how much time I'd want to commit to it, I don't want to have to devote all my free time at it. On the other hand, I don't want to deal with online racing that has a bunch of people that just want to crash everyone for shits and giggles either.

As for other sims, do you have any to recommend? The only good racing sim I am aware of is NASCAR Season 2003, which is pretty dated, and ARCA racing, which I think is just as serious as iracing.

Yeah, you'd pretty likely be banned from iracing for intentional crashing, at least in their leagues of which is the real draw in that they mimic real life racing sanctioning bodies. It is an investment in time and money. There are several professional drivers that use iracing as offseason practice or for practice at tracks that they are not allowed to test on. It's also an avenue for people who have the drive (pun intended) to be professionals, but not the means. I'd suggest taking a look at Asseto Corsa. While it is in early access, the dev has a solid sim background and the "game" has some of the best physics I've experienced.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 isn't a sim, but on max difficulty settings it's not bad as mock sim (it also has some cool online functions and there are a handful of CAGs who play). Beyond that and Asseto Corsa (like Neuro mentioned), there's not a whole lot in the way of good racing sims on the PC (besides for specific things, like F1 or NASCAR). That's a huge reason it's nice to have an Xbox 360 or One for the Forza series, which is the top of the genre in my opinion.

There's Victory: Age of Racing which is F2P and markets itself as a simulator, but it looks a little simplistic and is in early access as well. Still, worth giving a shot since it's free.

Do not buy the NASCAR 201x stuff on steam.

RACE '07 and expansions are solid and only $3 right now.

I'm quite partial to KUNOS Simulazioni's Assetto Corsa and nK Pro. (greenlit)

Codemaster's F1 2012/2013 is quite solid as well. (Do not buy the GFWL ridden 2010/2011.)

I enjoyed Test Drive Ferrari Racing legends as well due to the classic cars/tracks (GFWL).

With all assists off Test Drive Unlimited 2 is quite enjoyable.

There's some upcoming/Early Access stuff that looks promising but I haven't tried.

Ocean City Racing beats them all though, right?
