  • Stealth Bastard Deluxe - unlock On the Fast-Track - £0.10
All the Stealth Bastard Deluxe achievements are for playing through the game (completing various stages) except these two. Outside the Box requires you to play and rate a community level -- note you have to complete the level you select or it will not ask you to rate the map. On the Fast Track is awarded for getting the highest possible ranking on each level in any chapter (10 levels) and probably won't be easy if you're just starting out.

SBD is an excellent game, but it isn't something you're going to complete in just a couple of hours. The puzzles and action are both very solid. I wouldn't say it is a tough game, but it's not easy either.

Do I need to install an app to track my activity, or is it enough to have linked my steam account on playfire?
It's enough to have your Steam account linked. I used to bother with the app solely to have a handy list of rewards, but Steamlessness eliminates that need. Whoever came up with that deserves a cookie.

This was 50p last time. Bullshit, Playfire.
We can probably expect a lot of this in the future. I'm glad I went at it pretty hard for the past couple months. Now I just need them to not suck and properly link my Playfire account to GMG so my credit deposits properly. -_-

I was able to get On the Fast Track in Chapter 1 fairly easily. One other thing to note is that it requires you to S-rank the 2 secret levels as well, so you also need to obtain the helix on levels 1-1 through 1-8 to unlock 1-10. If anyone is having trouble finding those, this playlist is helpful: Chaper 1 Helix Locations

I also made a community level if you search "Playfire" which gets you Outside the Box in one second.

Shadows of the Vatican isn't worth it imo. It's short, has parts that are stupidly complicated and require cheating with a guide, and it's just... eh, not that good. The story is so snore-worthy, unless you think the whole "Ooooh, the Catholic church is sneaky and launders money and stuff" is an interesting theme.

I think it's better than Idi gives it credit for, though there are some stupidly obtuse puzzles thrown in.

I think it's slick and has a fun story (though it is about corruption and money-laundering rather than sexier crimes).

Worth $1.74 in credit if you like P&C adventures.

I don't believe anyone has talked much about the Skulls of the Shogan rewards, but i figure I'd post a bit about them in case anyone wanted some tips:

Devil Inside

You will likely get this just playing through the game, as all it requires you to do is turn your general into a demon by eating three enemy skulls. You can do this as early as the first level.

Were you using that?

Another one you should get just by playing, this requires you to haunt an enemies fox shrine, which you can do during the first level after you pass the first gate. Just let them haunt a shrine then go over and take it.

Outfoxing Death

You'll need to first haunt a fox shrine, and then turn that fox into a demon by eating three enemy skulls, after which you unlock the ability to revive fallen teammates. Just walk over to a friendly unit's skull and you can revive them using 100 rice (so make sure you don't spend it all first). It sounds a bit more complicated than it is, as unless the enemy is aggressively eating your skulls you should have enough leeway to get over to one and revive it.

Web Master

You just need to win an online match to get this one, which is super easy if you have a friend to play with who can just let you walk up and kill your general. Otherwise you'll just have to be good enough at the game to win legit, though I don't know how many people are actually playing online. I'm happy to help people get it, so if you've already got me added on Steam send me a message and I'll help you out (does not apply to lurkers).

The Bone Collector

This is unlocked by earning 15 golden skulls in levels, which you get by completing special objectives (of which you can do 3 per level). There's no real strategy for this as each level has unique challenges, but I would just recommend going for one or two per level instead of all three, as some are really difficult if you're trying to get them together and others actually force you to replay a level multiple times to unlock them. There are 75 or so skulls total in the game though, so even if you only get 1-2 per level it shouldn't be too hard to get 15 eventually.

Hopefully this helps someone, though the achievements are mostly self explanatory. Either way I'm glad I took the time to check the game out again, as I'm actually enjoying it a lot more than when I first tried it and will definitely be playing more of it.

Thanks for that! It's the next one on my play list and I was just wondering about the achievements. They seem pretty easy. It always looked interesting to me, but I've never found the time to play it until Playfire told me to.

So it looks like I got banned today. Filed a ticket asking why (gonna assume I was reported, as I really haven't been earning much of any rewards lately), waiting to hear back.

Hoping they can provide the game and the particular red-flags so I can offer some sort of evidence to counter.

Wish me luck.

I think the worst part is I had about $40something of credit before they zeroed me out. The ban and the zeroing seemed to have happened simultaneously (my account was fine yesterday), so it looks like they've gotten quicker about it. If I knew I was going to be banned out of nowhere, I'd have bought USFIV and some other stuff.

Take off the eye patch before you talk to them!

I'm starting to think they're just banning everyone from the highest reward earners down

So the trick is to hardly earn anything at all? Gotcha. I've only earnt ~£8.00 so far and most of it was by accident.

While I'm here, big love to madjoki - I visited his achievement tracking site today and it's amazing. It's exactly the kinda thing I need to plan my gametime against AND it isn't banned at work!

:whee:

I got banned because I cheated with SAM, therefore you should all get banned by association.

Little worried about losing my $11 credit so I pre-ordered Quest for Infamy for $19.99, looks like a old school Sierra style RPG I will really enjoy.  Other choices I was looking at was Lifeless Planet, Starbound, and Legend of Eisenwald but QFI was the only one I'd actually want to play right away.

weird thing about the game was that it was Kickstarted back in 2012 and promised a release date of Dec 2012, but comes out nearly 2 years later.

Surprise surprise, my ban reason request ticket has already been responded to. Amazing how quickly they answer tickets that don't involve giving people money. :wall:

Basically, they gave the usual about unusual activity and the account getting flagged. Gonna ask for the specific game(s) so maybe I can offer some sort of proof to the contrary.

A point of note is they said this:

If you do not agree with this policy then please feel free to contact us again however it is unlikely the decision will be overturned.

If it's unlikely then why suggest it? What circumstances would allow you to break ToS? :whistle2:k

I've been playing some Skulls of the Shogun this morning, and I agree with Squirrel.. it's a pretty fun little strategy-lite game so far.

They're trying to discourage people from endless email arguments. Their proof is largely circumstantial, I would imagine. Unless someone is unlocking achievements out of order or something.

Lots of these achievements have been easy enough to get legitimately, it seems kind of crazy to me to risk future rewards for a few dimes.

Shit, that sucks dude, I think I've only earned about 35 bucks total so far, so I hope I'm safe. I didn't realize they would ban you if you earned too much.

They don't ban you for earning too much, but it makes you a much bigger target investigation-wise.

If they find one set of achievements unlocked in a way they don't think is kosher (read: they think), I'm sure they wouldn't hesitate to get their money back from you. Since they serve as judge, jury and executioner, there's no reason to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, there's no oversight, no accountability.

I don't expect for them to divulge exactly what activity made me suspicious to them. I imagine it's probably one of those games with a way to unlock the achievement easier than the game intended (think custom maps and mods and such).

On the bright side, my GMG account isn't banned. They just removed all the Playfire-associated credit. At least I can use coupons now?

I'm mad, but with the allegations of users being rewarded for reports, I expected this to happen eventually because of some idiot who didn't know you could unlock an achievement with less than a certain amount of game playtime.

Yeah, there have been plenty of rewards like Shogun 2 and the Metal Slug 3 rewards that are super easy to get quickly. I guess I better spend my credit now just in case.

Tbh, I think Shogun 2's what got me banned. Would make perfect sense.

I would assume that Playfire knows Metal Slug 3 is easy enough to get the achievements for, but Shogun 2 had me earning a bunch at once via custom battles. Seems like the easiest catch.

Well, shit. There's nothing I want that isn't a pre-order. Is there anyone here who got their keys right away for SSFIV ultra upgrade or Mordor or Dragon Age Inquisition or some other pre-order?

If the developer allows achievements to work with custom maps setup from within the game, then I doubt that's grounds for a ban. What's next? Only achievements accomplished on Normal or above? How would anyone know such a rule exists?

One thing's for sure, their methods can't be too exact because they have such little info available and there are often legitimate reasons for something that looks suspicious. Banning people left and right is bad business.

Didn't even consider to check my account.  I'm safe for now, but I earned a decent amount in a short time.  To bad they'll never list what they consider to be red flags.

I don't believe they're thinking that hard about it. I presume custom maps/mods do not factor into their expectations.

Well, I bought Child of Light and all the content DLC. I was interested but avoided buying it during the Steam sale due to all the DLC. So I guess this is a good use of credit that might disappear soon.

I still have 5 bucks left over but I'll chance it.

Just wondering, why did certain people cheat? It's not like most of the rewards were difficult to earn anyway. Only thing it took was time.

In hindsight, you would've been able to earn more by not cheating. Expect probably that one guy, who earned so many games, it was actually somewhat impressive.

I also can't help but think that if people didn't cheat the system, we wouldn't be as heavily penalized with the rewards as we currently are. 10c is still free money, but a whole lot less than 50c.

I currently have $20 in my account. It's half of what the Alpha Centauri remake thing will cost (hopefully GMG has awesome preorder bonuses), but I doubt I'll be able to increase that number by much thanks to the reduced number of rewards (and reduced value of them).

Never underestimate the lure of getting free stuff with minimal effort. As long as there's a way to game the system there will always be people there to take advantage of it. Grinding the cheevs hasn't bothered me but I'm somewhat of a cheev whore.
