getting so close in watch dogs... I just want it to end already and get the plat. Was tailed again that last night, maybe second or third time. have done 5 tailings and 2 hackings, done with races. Half way done with investigations and still have 38 fixers to do. Not to mention i just realized to max out the skill tree I have to do a different side mission and then the songs.... UGH!!
I have been tempted to just quit Ratchet and Clank the last few days. I just need the 10mil bolts and get all the weapons trophies, but I have very little desire to replay the game again all the way through to level everything up and get the bolts. UGH is right.

I see you post this a lot and always forget to ask. Did you make this up yourself? Is it a midwest thing? Or am I just an old stick in the mud that I dont know this?
My best friend always says it, but she moved around a lot growing up so I'm not sure where she got it from.

yeah, but because I can change it again next year it isnt as big a deal to me. If I could never go back I wouldnt have offered to begin with. But honestly I never really liked this name and was thinking of moving on to another PSN ID once I move on to Ps4. We will see, but I agreed to do it and will follow through with that.
BUT 5000 TROPHIES!!!!

Go ahead, just throw those in the trash like they mean nothing to you. You fucking junkie asshole.

Yeah, I definitely caught the similarities. That was a bit grating, but there was enough of a focus shift to make it interesting. Moriarty is a great villain on Sherlock, to be sure, but The Master on Doctor Who had the benefit of bringing in some interesting backstory that had been hanging for a while (about the Time War and such.)

Overall I really liked the whole bit with The Master. Once I realized who that old guy really was I was pretty psyched. I read a lot of fanfiction and had seen the character crossed into other series; once I picked up on the drums I knew who was about to show up. The Toclafane were just stupid, though, and so was the paradox thing.

How familiar are you with Stephen Moffat's work, by the way? He wrote Blink and is big on Sherlock. It's interesting to watch stuff he's touched because the wife absolutely hates what a lazy writer he is. Moffat just re-uses the same crap over and over again. Literally lifts dialogue from his earlier works and just shoves it into newer stuff he does. I know he does a lot of the later writing for Doctor Who and am curious to see how annoying the wife will be in her complaints when I watch it. :whistle2:
For real spoilers on the upcoming Doctor Who season:

The Master is supposedly coming back

I know you as wrencrest, your PSN ID is wrencrest, so I dont see the need to change it. Plus I think the pill poppin' shtick will suffer if you try and change your name to be part of it.

It would be cool if you could change it as often as you want, but it is a once a year thing.
Ah-ah-ah, careful--his PSN ID is Wrencrest, not wrencrest. Crunchewy will be so disappointed in you. :shame:

You have not done the glitch on the hoverboard track?

edit: nevermind, you were talking about 3 not 1

Well like Topside said, your post was barely understandable. I'm still not entirely sure what you're talking about. I think there's been a pretty widespread agreement that all future, new IPs or series changing games should be next gen only. You going to start talking about Borderlands again, I know it. You can't seem to wrap your head around the fact that Borderlands isn't a sequel or new game, it's a bridge between two games with a huge god damn install base, which is exactly why it's coming to last gen only (for now, since it will come to current gen eventually). Games that are true sequels, and not gap fillers, I have no problem with them being next gen only and I'm pretty sure everyone here has always agreed on that. Every time a NEW game or SEQUEL is announce that includes last gen consoles, everyone (including myself) groans about it.
If what I posted wasn't "understandable" it's only because I'm being careful not to call anyone a hypocrite. And you've again missed my point albeit in a completely different manner this time. I'm not at all concerned with Borderlands canon and it's quite the reach to think that's why it's being developed for last-gen hardware.

Simply want developers to focus resources on current-gen games. That's all I've said. Destiny, LBP, Borderlands 1.5. Eager for them to move on already. This trend seems to be going on for longer than it did in previous gens but times have changed, I know. Just my opinion.

How does TT determine the streaks? It says I have a streak of 3 days but shows me having gotten at least 1 trophy on everyday since June 30th, weird.

It is based on your streak timezone, which by default does not seem to match your homepage timezone (no, it does not make any god damn sense). If you go into your settings and put them as the same time zone, then rebuild your streak, it *should* fix it.

I am currently on 53 days which is my longest.

ETA: It is under site settings.

But Borderlands isn't a current gen game and shouldn't be.

Other than that, I don't remember many people saying that current gen shouldn't be the focus. Maybe initially when PS4 launched, but that changed in about a month or so when it was shown how much current gen versions are held back because of last gen versions.

I read somewhere you had to be online when you earn the trophy, but I've had it continue my streak just by syncing trophies I earned while offline each day. So I'm really not sure which it is.

Edit: Go with Gator's response. Now that he's mentioned it I do recall that mine started working correctly after I changed my timezone.

I'm pretty sure we saw current/last gen parity for a long time last gen as well (pretty much solely on the PS2, but still), so I'm not really surprised we're still seeing last gen versions of games less than a year after the new consoles launched (especially considering how much broader the market for them has gotten).

Not that I disagree with you, I'd prefer developers focus on next gen games too, but I doubt we'll see last games go away for at least another year or two.

God of War 2 came out in March of 2007 for the PS2 while the PS3 released in November 2006. Odin Sphere released in May of 2007, GrimGrimoire released in June of 2007. There were dozens more games released from series like .HACK, Burnout, Rock Band and Guitar hero that came out between November 2006 and December 2007. This seems to be a pretty common occurrence over the last few console cycles.

Agreed, PS2 certainly continued to have new releases for years after PS3 came about.  I am pretty sure sports games continued for 3 or even 4 years after.

under my regional settings it has the same timezone for both, are you talking about somewhere else?

Sherlock, Coupling, and Jekyll (first thing I saw that he had written).

Season 6 was probably one of my favorites for the season long arc, then he kind of spins his wheels through most of Season 7. It helps a great deal that Matt Smith is infectiously awesome, it took me a season and a half to warm up to Tennant, whereas I clicked with Matt Smith within an episode or two. Still need to see the two specials before the next season starts in August but those aren't up on Amazon prime instant watch.

That is what I am talking about. Click on one of your streaks to go to the streaks page. Then there should be a button on the right for rebuild streaks. Click that and keep your fingers crossed. It does not seem to be a perfect system.

It fixed it under the list of streaks, but does not show a current streak, not a big deal, was just curious. I still prefer psnprofiles.

Borderlands isn't a current-gen game, huh? Well yeah...that's my complaint. And I obviously believe it should be. Couldn't care less if its plot is situated between two last-gen games. Can't believe you're still running with that. This is about money and nothing else. But, again, that game is only one example.

And I was just giving people a hard time now that they've got their shiny new consoles. No biggie. Lol. I was probably indifferent before as well. But once you spend the money on the hardware you crave software that can exploit it.

You might have to look carefully. it does not always have a current streak listed underneath the list of streaks. If your current streak is on that list, it usually just has a highlighted background instead. If you have a new streak that is not long enough to be on your top streaks, it lists it underneath as you mention.

I still remember captaintek and gettinmoney but those they changed to match their psn ids, professorstotch and jayremedy, so I just call them their psn id/cag names either way now. I have a friend iv played cod with for 5 years and he was outshine til his ps3 died and now he is achtung_castile, and they all call him cas but I just can't stop calling him outshine cuz thats what i know him as. yup

n iv got over 500 in credit at gamestop/bestbuy, but im not buying a ps4 until my backlog is down to double digits, hopefully single digits. I have way too many ps2 games I never played / rebought as hd remakes on ps3 that it doesn't make any sense to upgrade now, especially with getting free ps+ games every month and prices will only go lower on games/system. I can't abandon my ps3 backlog, and I promised I would go back to my ps2 games, but it is so hard to go back, and then the whole trophies thing. I still loved saints row 2, devil may cry 4, civ revolution and a few other non-trophy ps3 games, but they incentivize my wanting to play a game exponentially. It's epic how I already have a backlog on a system I don't even own.

Playstation is awesome. The only thing I am envious of on xbox is always the developer attention such as cod mappacks first, fallout dlc first, skyrim dlc, bayonetta playing smoother, dead rising love, etc. I am not envious of Wii U at all, cept that Bayonetta 2, but im hoping that gets ported eventually. I'm definately getting a ps4 eventually, i already have a dualshock 4 controller i got super cheap on an amazon tiv deal and the ps+ I have for 5 more years, lol, 2 of which I still need to redeem when they hopefully do a redeem a year get 3 months free. Last time I redeemed a ps+ code for a year they had that exact sale the following week. doh. i mean, ps+ is necessary for ps4 so it is gonna be a necessity. I am glad the quality of games hasn't suffered since it has become a necessary sub for ps4. zone. thanx for letting me rant about nothing :) my grrl and i gotta try and finish toe jam and earl later today. that game is so horrible. but its good.

Well, I'm not talking about annual sports franchises or things like Rock Band. Those are always thrown on everything. Secondly, didn't a lot of "cross-gen" games run on different engines? Often developed by different studios? Hardly counts as what's happened with Destiny.

I know development for older hardware can continue well into the life of new stuff but it feels more...obtrusive now. I didn't game as much last decade so maybe I just didn't notice.

You are missing the fact that GOW 2 was probably the biggest game launched that year and it was hardly a given that the first Rock Band was going to be released on everything, that was the first one.

Edit: let me change that to one of the biggest

The DLC exclusivity is entirely on Microsoft's end for throwing money at publishers, not the developers paying more attention to it (you can see a similar thing with Battlefield DLC on Playstation).

Most of the games (excluding stuff like God of War 2 and Persona 4 that were exclusives) were ports of the Wii versions of games (like Tomb Raider Underworld for example), so yeah oftentimes they were different developers handling the ports. But that's always been the case to some extent, with stuff like PC ports often being handled by other developers. It is intrusive to a degree, but honestly with how much games cost to make now and the fact the price for them hasn't gone up, you can hardly be surprised publishers are wanting to reach as large a install base as possible even if it means handicapping development of current gen versions. In theory this would also mean that there were ready made versions that could be ported to WiiU without much issue, but yeah...doesn't seem like that's actually happening.

It's kind of funny that we have the opposite thing happening with indie games, most of which are completely capable of running on the PS3 but are being kept exclusive to PS4/Vita almost definitely at Sony's bequest to try and build up those libraries and make people transition.

Super excited to hear that the new tables are out on Vita Pinball Arcade! I finally need to buy the PS4 version too. I'm hoping we get an end of season discount on the current season, but I'll buy the other stuff tonight. I get a discount since I own seasons on PS3/Vita, right? Right?

Also need source for discounted PSN monies ASAP!

Rock Band actually took a year longer to launch on PS2 and Wii, and was a pretty gimped version at that. Surprisingly Guitar Hero actually did a better job keeping parity with the PS3/360 versions, with the obvious exception of DLC.

Yep, I did miss that. The only thing I played then was the occasional match of Smash Brothers or Gears of War with roommates. I was so removed it's not even funny so if you claim GOWII released to big fanfare I'll just take your word. First time I ever tried it is when it mistakenly went free a few months ago.

And, yes, Rock Band literally was on EVERYthing dude. I got a DS port for like $2.00 last year. It's like LEGO games. I'm not complaining about those.

I know you can find examples of PS2 games published in 2010, lol. You know that's not what I'm complaining about. Yeesh. Sorry. Back to the corner I go.

I'm too lazy to look up numbers, but I'm pretty sure it was the best selling game that year by a good margin.

Eh. It just doesnt sound right any way I say it.
Doesn't sound right to you because naturally, your saying should be "pills a poppin".

For BL specifically, it's about the user-base. They have greatly spoken out that they wanted the game on last gen because many haven't moved on yet, and wouldn't move on for one game. Those people have been screaming for more BL2 DLC for over a year now, and they were finally appeased with the announcement of this game. It was never going to be a current gen game, and I doubt it ever will be.

Also, for this game specifically, Gearbox doesn't have a whole lot to do with it. They handed it over to another team to work on, while they continue on for current gen.

No one is getting angry or calling you names or anything, what is with the back to the corner stuff? People can have civil debates without it reverting to elementary school name calling or pouting. Also, actually, I have no idea what you are complaining about really. I assumed you were complaining about games still being made for the PS3 and PS4 at the same time and I have shown you that it has happened in the past.

I don't know why, but I absolutely hated the actor's portrayal of the villain for the last 2 episodes, SOO grating. Perhaps because I saw the first season of Sherlock before it where they did a similar villain update so much better is why I found him quite annoying. The Deus Ex Machina they used to solve the problem was also REALLY stupid. I do agree though, earlier S3 episodes (especially episode 5) are the low point of the New Who series.
I like the actor, but he's totally wrong for the Master. The Master is Roger Delgado or Anthony Ainley, dammit, not some pipsqueak who can't inspire fear in a rodent.

And as for River Song, I'm fine with the actress, but giving the Doctor a love interest flies in the face of like 40 years of canon. That shit's like some holdover from that crappy Fox movie they made where they thought the Doctor had to have a girlfriend to appeal to mainstream audiences. And they wanted her to be Romana part two electric bugaloo where she's the "equal" of the Doctor. fuck that.

OK, that's enough ultra-nerdery out of me for the day.
