I think Zelda is the only Nintendo franchise I give a fuck about anymore. Yoshi and Kirby have gone too kiddie (some are good, yes) and Mario is starting to wain on me big time...even the flagship games. I played a demo of Super Mario Land World awesome sauce or whatever on Wii U in Target and I wasn't overly impressed...although I know it gets nutso gonzo later in the game so it might be unfair. I still care about Starfox and non 1st person Metroid but Nintendo needs some really good games in those franchises like yesterday. How is there no 3DS 2.5D 3D Metroid game yet?
The new Yoshi is a bit of a flop, but Kirby Triple D is superb and you'd be doing yourself a disservice not to try it. I borrowed it for a few days from a friend and loved it. Kirby is my favorite Nintendo franchise but I make no excuses for him. I didnt like Epic Yarn due to it not feeling like a Kirby game at all. Triple D even comes packed with a Smash Bros mode full of Kirbys with different powers.

I'm 100% with you on Mario, but conversely I'm totally over any and all Zeldas. I couldn't even bring myself to finish Link Between Worlds. The series absolutely is not for me anymore unless something radical changes, and we all know Nintendo doesn't change shit. Not even excited about the new WiiU title.

Its exactly what I've been waiting for. I'll be grabbing Kirby, Bravely Default and Yoshi for sure. 4th game I decided as of yet. I own Zelda, Mario Party and both Pokemon. So that leaves 3 games I dont really care about. But of the 3 I'd honesly likely play Magical World the most as its an Animal Crossing clone with some Kingdom Hearts-lite combat. Conversely, its also the one to drop in price heavily on its own.
A lot of people were really disappointed in Yoshi's and would probably recommend against it.

Yeah the new Kirby is as crazy easy as any Kirby game ever but it somehow manages to be really compelling and fun. The side modes are good enough they're being spun off into full games in Japan.

So I want to pick up this Corpse Party bundle but the bundle says playable on PSP while the standalone games list Vita as well. Should this be a cause for concern or is it likely just an oversight on the listing?

Looks like an oversight most likely. I'm assuming it just unlocks both games on your account and both are listed as Vita compatible.

That's what I'm figuring as well, though figured it wouldn't hurt to delay my itchy trigger finger for a bit to ask.

Worst case scenario I dust off the ol' PSP I guess.

You're bitching about 65 degree weather in the middle of July? That sounds glorious. Get the fuck out of here.
Yes. Yes I am. After suffering through the coldest winter in 100-odd years and 20-30 something straight below zero days, I want my damn Julys to be fucking hot.

so $10 for narco terror and sacred citadel a good deal?

It's unfortunate from the standpoint of it's mid-July and we've been swimming all of once. On the other hand it's also nice that it hasn't been 90+ every single day since early March like it had been the last several years. A nice 75-85 consistency with the occasional 90 thrown in would be nice though.

I am also curious about that bundle. They are both local coop games, so I am basically sold on them, I am just curious if anyone here has played them. I know Sacred Citadel was on PS Now. SOMEONE HELP US OUT.

I would have taken advantage of that sale at Best Buy, if Target didn't  fuck up my order for my Sea Green 2DS. First, they back-order it, then de-list it and then give me the excuse that it's not being manufactured anymore when GameStop has it in stock. That $99 was enticing and so was that specific 2DS as well. I'll have to wait for another sale or bite the bullet for all $129.99 I even have Project X Zone: Limited Edition all ready and raring to go.

Well at least they did you one solid in keeping you from playing that game.

Meh. All I've ever heard is that the game has hour long battles. I've never heard anything horrible regarding that specific title. It would have been nice for them to at least let me choose a different color for a 2DS before cancelling it completely. Now I'm stuck with a game that I can't play until I get one, or borrow my brothers if I ever feel the need to.

Dang, so this really is a free man's land. We even get Nintendo deals. :) Thanks for the headsup on Pokemon TIV. Haven't touched it since I bought it so off it goes!

I think you have unresolved issues with them. You are singlehandedly responsible for the majority of Nintendo-related posts I read on CAG yet insist you are not a fan. I don't get it. You should check out Console Wars if you get a chance. Talks exhaustively about Nintendo's method of madness. I agree it doesn't always appear to make sense, but understanding their beginnings puts a lot of things into context. Same as Sony and Sega. Japanese business culture in general. It's best just to appreciate the time you had with them as a kid and move on as I doubt much will "change" with Nintendo's game philosophy/design. It's why they remain successful. People made the same complaints in the 90s.

Yoshi has always been boring to me, so I wasn't surprised to see recent reviews. NSMB series is terribly bland and uninspired. But I enjoyed 3DLand. You've heard it before but don't judge 3DLand/3Dworld without playing post-game levels. Couldn't finish Skyward Sword. Enjoyed ALBW. If you're looking for mature things have you tried Kid Icarus? I think the controls are dumb but people who get past them say it's a good game. And Fire Emblem. Best RPG I've played in years. Quite "non-kiddie", lol.

I didn't catch this harrowing tale the first time. Would you kindly repeat it again?

We just had a 99 cent sale! Plus I bought 4 or 5 games during the summer sale. I have no problem criticizing the sales this week, but the sales haven't been that bad lately.
Yeah, the 99 cent sale had good deals but it was pretty much for non-plus members or new members. And before that we got a handful of overpriced digital retail games knocked in half to make them somewhat buyable (still too high for me though).

I would think the majority would be fairly underwhelmed with the sales. I will say that I came close to pulling the trigger on Steamworld Dig. What games did you pick up?

That 99 cent sale made me buy my first digital games so I think/hope they'll do more as I imagine they're probably trying to get people like me to fall for digital.

Stumbled across some scumbag streaming watch dogs. Daughter said she's hungry and he says your mother is responsible for that when she gets home. Then gets snappy at her for wanting his attention while he plays. All on camera, though he's wearing a mask.

MNS alt confirmed.

Was it a horse head mask? If it was and there was a shotgun and PBR in frame it could have been some really elaborate, messed up porn.

If there are any Nintendo fans amongst us, Best Buy will be having a B1G1 free on select 3DS games next week. Some stellar titles:

Pokemon X
Pokemon Y
Yoshi's New Island
Mario Party Island Tour
Mario Golf
Kirby Triple Deluxe
Bravely Default
Tomodachi Life
Zelda Link Between Worlds
Disney's Magical World.
And yes, GCU stacks.
Damn, that's a good deal for Nintendo. Still over $20 per game (little less with GCU) but a good deal for Nintendo. And also why I don't really mess with them anymore.

feedback on Ethan Meteor Hunter and That trivia game?

Picking up Crimsonland.
I only played a few levels but I liked it. It's just a puzzle platformer but I like those type of games. Did you ever play Funky Lab Rat? It's a lot like that game.

And the new Pinball Arcade tables are $8 each?  Why are they $8 each!?!?!?   Zen Pinball releases 3-packs and 4-packs for $10.

EDIT: The Pro tables are $8 each, the regular tables are $5 each.  Still being outclassed by Zen on price.

@laundrymatt Of course the user base is larger. It's always been that way. The point is to entice people to upgrade not satiate them with countless ports. Maybe I just hold Borderlands in higher esteem than some of you. I feel like it deserves better. Reminds me of how Sony sometimes treats Gran Turismo. I remain unconvinced this will be a good installment but let's hope.
Why is it Gearbox's job to entice us to buy PS4's? Borderlands is not a system seller like Uncharted 4. Sony wants U4 on PS4 to entice. Gearbox wants to sell as many copies as possible to their fan base on PS3.

Yeah, but you're in the minority here. Like I said, there were only a few games in that sale that we hadn't already gotten for free being PS+ members. The only game I bought in that sale was VF2 and it was only because of the contest we did.

Malicious, Machinarium, Velocity Ultra, Trials Freestyle, DD Neon, Dyad, Munch's Oddysey, The Cave.... all free with PS+. And Thomas Was Alone has been on sale 479879 times so most of us already owned that. After that there's not a lot left.

Borderlands series is so overrated. Good gameplay on paper and fun co-op, but weapon variety, performance (on consoles) and graphics are terrible.

Borderlands isn't a current-gen game, huh? Well yeah...that's my complaint. And I obviously believe it should be. Couldn't care less if its plot is situated between two last-gen games. Can't believe you're still running with that. This is about money and nothing else. But, again, that game is only one example.

And I was just giving people a hard time now that they've got their shiny new consoles. No biggie. Lol. I was probably indifferent before as well. But once you spend the money on the hardware you crave software that can exploit it.
If it shouldn't be about money for Gearbox, what should it be about? If I worked for you, I wonder how long I would have a job for. Making' money is business 101. Unless your non profit, and even some of them rake it in.

Simply want developers to focus resources on current-gen games. That's all I've said. Destiny, LBP, Borderlands 1.5. Eager for them to move on already. This trend seems to be going on for longer than it did in previous gens but times have changed, I know. Just my opinion.
Ask Ninja Theory how focusing resources worked out for them when they made Heavenly Sword for a PS3 small user base. Bet they wished they made it on PS2.

The point being they didn't want to alienate a generation of players who hadn't moved on to new-gen yet. It's most likely that players new to the series wouldn't have picked up a gap-bridging title for past gen games, they'd just wait for a proper sequel to jump in. Yet I digress. Your argument was more about "several games/in general" than BL specifically. And I get that. Just throwing it out there that this is why BL was done this way.
We tried explaining this about BL1.5, and it seems he still is upset about it and/or doesn't get it, so I'm not sure what else to say about it. It's a money thing...well yes, clearly. The entire games industry is about making money. If BL3 was announced on last gen consoles, yes that's a shame and something to get angry about. A bridge game that's going to be the equivalent of a beefed up expansion pack should not be put out there on current gen consoles and expected to sell systems. That's not a realistic or fair expectation. Then when the game fails, people will be saying "Oh they should have kept it on last gen consoles where the install base was already there."

Good gameplay on paper? Not sure what to think about that. And you're really going with overrated? With terrible weapon variety? And complaining about last-gen cell shaded graphics?

Have you actually played Borderlands?

breakfuss, is going to have a lot of multiple posts to come back to.

All I know is the PS4 doesn't really have any "System Seller" for me. Besides the streaming aspect, I'm waiting for when the JRPG train arrives on these consoles if it ever does. The Xbox One will probably be left out to some degree just like the 360 was.

I thought we all figured out the other day that Gearbox is only good when it comes to Borderlands? They also specialize in investing, and outsourcing games that never live up to potential.

But they still find the time to craft a clone of their own series. Gearbox at its finest.

I'm not at all concerned with Borderlands canon and it's quite the reach to think that's why it's being developed for last-gen hardware.
if you're not concerned with Borderlands canon, then why are you qualified to comment regarding what Gearbox, who is very much concerned with Borderlands canon, is deciding to put its product for their customers?

Are we being punk'ed by this guy? We're being punk'ed. Gotta be. He is the mercenary after all.
