The co-op is the main focus of the game. Singleplayer is pretty boring and only worth playing to get all of the collectibles easier.
I actually had a good time with the singleplayer game.

I should start a website and review only games that are supposed to be co-op, but played as a singleplayer game: Borderlands 2, Killing Floor, and now LC: GOTL. I enjoyed all of them playing by myself just as well or better than in co-op. I must be odd.

In very few cases, I almost always prefer solo in "co-op" games. Why? They're too easy in co-op and I find myself bored and unchallenged.

There are exceptions like Borderlands (since enemies scale to how many players are present), Trine, Killing Floor (since the difficulty level is solid in co-op), etc. But as for ARPGs, MMOs, and just about everything else, they're just more challenging and funner solo. You have to build your character correctly, gear up, use your head, etc.

That's cos you hate people hal. It's ok to admit it. People are all assholes ... and dumbasses.

I hated Killing Floor single player. Likely one of hardest just cause of so many monsters and not doable for me on anything above easy. Now with friends and even strangers the game is bliss....everyone working together with different classes trying their best using their own unique classes to survive. Borderlands 2 was very doable single player but got very hard at higher levels without co-op partners. I pretty much was forced to use long range weapons as Salvador just to not die in a few seconds.

No offense to Carnival's zombie, but I think Spoderman has a kickass new ninja costume to wear for the month of October.

I'm gonna be slutty sexy cat for Halloween. That way, I won't have to change my avatar.
Both were fun to draw. Ninja was quick-n-dirty and pretty easy, but the zombie took twice the time because of the details (dat brain). MSPainted avatars would be a fun idea for a giveaway contest during Halloween.

Guardian of Light is a different case though, all of the puzzles are dumbed down in singleplayer and make the game have zero challenge. The game was clearly designed for co-op.
I really have to second this. The TR:GoL is a twin-stick shooter mashed up with a coop puzzle platformer. In SP the adjustments for the puzzle platformer half really falls flat. The twin-stick shooter bit holds up well in solo and coop, but like other twin-sticks is more fun in coop.

The trick with Salvador is to get a slag rubi or a grog nozzle and then a hard hitting pistol like the unkempt harold for the other hand. It's easy mode after that. It's a lot more fun coop, but I still really enjoyed borderlands solo.

I think I've come to the realization that I won't be getting many of the Deponia rewards. The highest one requires you to reach chapter five in the last game. I like what I've played so far, but it seems to be the kind of adventure game that requires you to fiddle around with the background and your inventory a lot before progressing the story. I don't want to rush through it just to get a few dimes.

They haven't updated the MSRP of the Dungeon Siege trilogy and their bundle doesn't include the Treasures of the Sun DLC either. Steam had it for $4.99 throughout the entire duration of the summer sale.

Apropos of nothing, I managed to sort out my "no GMG credit" problem yesterday.

I've been receiving Playfire credit for months, but it never appeared in my GMG account despite the two accounts seemingly being linked. I was told yesterday that it was because my GMG email address was "JohnPSmith@blahblah" and my Playfire email address was "johnpsmith@blahblah".

Apparently they're sorting out this glitch "soon".

:whee:

That's been an issue since the program started (someone else posted about getting a similar response from CS months ago), so "soon" seems to be a very relative term for Playfire.
I can live without it being fixed anytime soon, just so long as it will be fixed. I'm kinda enjoying the casual achievement hunting so I'd like to keep it up.

I reserve the right to withdraw this comment when they haven't fixed it in two months' time.

Auburn has been contacting playfire about that issue for several months and never could get his account fixed. I have my doubts that issue will ever be fixed.

Hmm...I have $7.12 in Playfire fun-money left, thinking of getting Sleeping Dogs. Worth it @ $4.99?
Sleeping Dogs was one of the best games of 2012 so I'd say it's easily worth $5. It has a pretty good story with memorable characters, an interesting city to explore, most of the combat focuses on martial arts and brutal environmental hazards and it has a decent amount of side missions and collectable content. Oh, and it has a pretty kickass soundtrack too.

It's not the most polished game and it's a little rough around some of the edges, but I thought it was an amazing game (one of my favorites in years). I will say that the story DLCs (Zodiac Tournament, Nightmare in North Point and Year of the Snake), while enjoyable, are definitely not necessary. They are worth the 75% off ($1.74 each) asking price though.

Sleeping Dogs is a very good game and worth the $4.99, but if you've waited this long you might as well wait for the Square Enix Humble Bundle.
By taking about Bundle Who Must Not Be Named, you've just delayed it by another six months.

WELL DONE SPODER
:headache:

Yeah, I've been wanting to play it for sure. I think I'll probably get it, just to blow through my Playfire credit and call it good for now. I've been spooked by what happened to Bobby, though I haven't done any scurvy-related plundering of the system myself. Thanks for the recommendation.

Talking about Bundles... I heard once there was a rumour about a Ubi Humble Bundle. Do you think it can happen?
Humble U-Play bundle, sounds awesome.

I did not recognize your avatar pic Spoder. Going incognito?

Lara Croft and the GOL is still $2.49 on GMG with over a $1 in rewards available.

I 100% this long ago, these achievements are pretty easy. From a quick look the .25 one can be done solo on level 3. The rest require co-op mode I think.
A Friend in Need just requires you to start the coop mode.

Jump Jump is done in coop by jumping off Totec's shield as Lara while he jumps too.

Return to Sender just requires you to reflect a projectile as Totec.

I'm not exactly sure about Beat a Better Mousetrap but apparently it's not very difficult either (all the achievements can allegedly be done in an hour or so).

Ubisoft/Uplay bundle would be very cool. Put a few of their older titles like Rainbow Six, and then one or two of their big franchises now like far cry and assassins creed all mashed together with one or two smaller titles like Child of light. I'd buy right away, even if I had a few already.

I can see a uPlay bundle happening, though I wouldn't be surprised if it was all uPlay keys and not Steam, which I'm sure would piss some people off.
As long as the game selection is nice, there shouldn't be a reason to complain. But then again this is the Internet and there is always going to be at least one person who doesn't like good cheap games.

Ubisoft is just tone-deaf enough to do that. It would seem especially lame when EA (who doesn't even release games on Steam any more) was nice enough to give Steam keys for a bundle they didn't even make any money from.

I'd still buy it though, because Ubi's games are so overpriced in general and I have hardly any of them.

I honestly would prefer a lot less play the first time and more play the first time +3 achievements. I think i'm losing interest in this....also doesn't help the credits are becoming less and less and you have to own more and more to get them, and you can't use the credit in conjunction with percent off codes....it's becoming a bad deal ....PASS!!!!

Tried to play Heroes & generals... but their servers are down since... several hours... and they don't know when they'll be back again. So, thanks for the pf reward, uninstalling now.

Any feedback on Mafia II DLC Pack?  It's $8 on sale, free with pirate money and $6.39 with the -20% code.  I have the base game sitting in the backlog.  In truth,  I'm leaning towards saving what little playfire rewards I saved up for something I really want.  Considering the new rewards system GMG put in place, I doubt I'll be earning much more in rewards in the future.

How are you going to use the coupon and pirate money at the same time? Does this one stack?

And $8 for Mafia II DLC = no.

All of the Mafia 2 DLC has been free before during a GMG promo. It's not bad, but $6.39 is too much for it.

No, just my options. Either get it free using Playfire money or use the code for -20% off. I could have made it a little clearer.

I shall skip it for now. Thanks.
