This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

 • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
 • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
 • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
 • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
 • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
 • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Is there anyone here who owns the Vergil's Downfall DLC for DmC? I just picked the game up for two bucks at TRU clearance and if the add-on is worth it, I'd like to get it while it's on sale.

Thanks
I've played the first few levels and it is fun. If you think you'll enjoy the main game, you'll probably like the dlc.

Every time I try to install the original Dead Rising, once it reaches 99%, "Can't download Dead Rising" pops up.

Any idea what's happening? My marketplace seems to be in the same region, I have more than enough space for it, and I tried clearing the cache. DR2: OTR downloaded just fine.

Well, I had problems to upload replays to Youtube in Darkstalkers Resurrection because apart of linking the Youtube account to the game, you MUST have a channel created in order to be able to upload them. As I never uploaded a video, I didn't create a channel previously, so I had to do so.

Thanks for that link, bob101910,  I had already created the channel just before reading it in the comments section of that page, but it was a great source material for my problem.

I got a month to kill before Destiny and want something story based to play.....anybody have opinions on Asura's Wrath?? I have the demo downloading now and I'm fine if it's a relatively short game.
Simple gameplay. Epic battles from start to finish. I would say that it's a poor-man's God of War. I enjoyed it very much. Is it worth $9.99? I would say no especially since you have to purchase additional DLC ($6.99) to get the true ending. There are also some in-between episodes that add to the story that cost $1.99 each.

Also, FYI This was on sale back in February for $7.59.

I was on the verge of buying RE4...but I really don't want to go back and play it on an already outdated system again.

Hold out for an Xbone version lol. (I'm only slightly joking here, this is Capcom we are talking about)

Really debating getting Resident Evil 4. Probably be not as good as i remember combined with shitty controls. Anyone here recommend this port?
I like the port although I may be in the minority. The graphics are equivalent to it running on a PS2 on a standard definition tube tv which isn't a bad thing if you've ever played it on a PS2 on a HDTV.

I played and beat the PS2 version on an HDTV. Even with component cables it looked awful. Had to go really slow in some areas because I couldn't see the bear traps. When I took it over a friends house and played it on his tube tv I couldn't believe how so much better it looked.

How bout dem Xbone games doe

Tumbleweed.gif

Great in-game footage of that new Tumbleweed game. So lifelike. They taking preorders yet?
That's actually pre-rendered. Actual gameplay footage consists of 17 QTEs to get the different strands of grass to move fluidly.

1st your prime now your gold smh you are falling behind
I keep managing to notice these things on the day they've expire apparently. Finally found the email saying Gold expired today and went to check when my Prime expired on the day it got renewed. Guess it's time to add one of the six cards I have sitting here.

Thanks for the insight. They lost me at "pay for DLC to see the real ending"

Is the end credits "Blood Theme" from Dexter also in a video game? I've been watching dexter on Netflix and when that credits music plays I swear it's from a game...

Daniel Licht, who wrote "Blood Theme", composed all the music for Dishonored and Silent Hill: Downpour, if you've played either of those.

Anyone have a 2 day XBL code they can part with? All I need it for is to download the Madden 25 rosters. You can't download it unless you are on XBL Gold account. Thanks MS. :booty:

If you have one to spare can you drop me a PM?

TIA :)

How did I not know that this was released last week?

Even if date night ends up sucking, DOA5 has got my back.

I find it interesting that with all the money used to get all these sexy DOA5U costumes (there's MANY) one could pay a decent prostitute. Just sayin'.

Having said that I enjoyed DOA5U, worth the 13 bucks or so it was when it got on sale around Christmas, but paying gazillions for costumes... even if they're sexy. Nope.

Everything I've read points to it being a region issue, even though you said it seems to be the same region. If it still does not download I would contact Microsoft for assistance. Hopefully you didn't just lose money.

I've heard a rumor that there's free pornography on the internet, some of it actually featuring real women. This is just a rumor, though. Someone here should verify it.

So when did DOA jump the shark?

NEVER...

they cowgirl'd up and straddled that shark from the get go

So I can finally stop flipping my dick out in front of the sexy ads on the billboard in front of the local church? Well, that's new.

So EA Accesss finally launched today, found it on the Xbox One Dash, Madden 25, Fifa 14, Battlefield 4 (Said Premium was installed), and Peggle 2 available. Can't buy the sub with Xbox Live Credit sadly.

Nice. Gonna try this for 2 months, depending on what is added I might even buy a year sub.

I'm going to wait and see what they add first. The only thing I would play right now would be BF4.

On another note, it's DATE NIGHT!!!

Who are we gonna get tonight???

036-reddit-pretty_ugly_girl.jpg

Well, given all my DOA5U talk/links on previous posts, I figured I was the only one who enjoyed the game here ... frequently. Speaking of sharks, date night draws near. Come on Microsoft, I'm dying for more great summer sales. Let's continue this chain of good sales. Without a Summer of Arcade promotion to get in the way of great discounts like years past, we should be getting all the XBLA/DLC/GonD our hearts desire. Here's some ideas: Mass Effect series DLC, the new Pinball FX2 tables, DLC to prior Summer of Arcade titles (Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, Hydro Thunder Hurricane, etc.), State of Decay DLC, DLC to some Games with Gold. I do not see a good sale this coming date night cannibalizing the hype for what you're going to show this upcoming Gamescom (at least I can buy something and could get on board with Quantum Break simultaneously, I know multitasking is hard).

I guess I can throw in some opinions for those still thinking of it from the Capcom sale.
[customspoiler="My Dustforce first impressions"]
The game is probably a good game, it's got elements which should appeal to me: interesting concept (cleaning), high-precision platforming, great chiptunes. It warrants my purchase, but I have a strange feeling (during this early learning phase) this will grow to be a regret purchase for me due to a few factors. I can see this being a good game. I just have problems wrapping my head around the controls.

I've tried many d-pads for the 360 to find my Sega Saturn pad or Nintendo D-pad nirvana for 2D games (such as platformers and fighting games, I cannot use the analog stick for such games), and maybe it is the 360's controller not up to the task for this game (for my lack of devil robot hands). I expected a lot of mobility, given the ability to run along ceilings, walls, etc. I was hoping for a Super Meat Boy styled precision platforming, but somehow I feel some of my inputs get dropped, sometimes I cannot double jump, or fail to jump after a dash off a platform. I am trying to get it into my head in Dustforce it seems the character is only allowed either a dash or a second jump after the first jump, and sometimes kicking off a wall does not reset the allowed moves (air dash/ additional jump), nothing more. Either I have not gotten the timing for the window in which I can string together dashes, jumps, air dashes, and wall jumps smoothly, or I need a better explanation of the mechanics (it could also be I am too used to the mobility of Arc System Works games where you can string together your mobility moves in any way you can imagine). The restriction on chaining moves seem disjointed with the game encouraging finesse play by inhibiting mobility.

That finesse play should go well with speed running and scoring, but the other grade to encourage 100% cleaning a stage in ways oppose each other. Instead of a laser focused play to encourage competing with friend times/scores in a Trials HD, Doritos Crash Course, Super Meat Boy manner, it takes the Doritos Crash Course 2 approach where it just throws so much extraneous other gameplay elements (collecting stars in Crash Course 2) which gives a "play your own way" option but ultimately to me defeats a competitive element comparing scores with disjointed categories reducing the purpose of stages to "I played it" opposed to "I mastered it well" for most players.

It doesn't help the game doesn't seem to provide adequate information to the player at times: there will be stages with grey dust on gray bricks or cool, muted colors without a strong color pop to indicate dirty zones to be cleaned (the animation is there but the relative size of the view can make it hard to spot sometimes). The playable character doesn't seem to make much noise or flash any real signs to help the player along to show if a move is available (2nd jump/dash), making the game lose a bit of life and relying solely on its excellent soundtrack, but I would prefer some audio cues to assist in playing.

All in all I know I will be miserable playing this game. I think it was worth my $5. It is likely my fault for wanting to play the game the way I play it which will make me frustrated and unhappy. I wish I did not buy the game. It is a decent game, and maybe worth trying the demo to see if you'd want it too at $5.

I think it still looks very pretty by art design (do not watch video past leaving the room to avoid potential surprises if you've not played it yet). Ashley Graham was my most memorable element of Resident Evil 4. I have not played the game on 360 yet, so I do not know if the 360's version uses the PS2/early PC textures or based on the Gamecube/Wii textures, and if it has the water effects of the GC/Wii version. I would like to know. I already bought it for the 360, but I've already played it on the Gamecube, so I'm not in any rush to find out for myself. I hopeful the overtime is worth it.

I got a month to kill before Destiny and want something story based to play.....anybody have opinions on Asura's Wrath?? I have the demo downloading now and I'm fine if it's a relatively short game.
So long as you do not mind QTE heavy play (I consider that a game still, as I did with Dragon's Lair) Asura's Wrath should be okay, but what wrecks it is the DLC which is not on discount which I read rounds out the story. That makes the purchase price of Asura's Wrath more expensive than it is letting on at the moment in my eyes; similar to Street Fighter X Tekken with the locked characters completing the package of the game, which fortunately does have that unlock key on sale right now. For story, In preparation for the upcoming sequel(s), I want to recommend Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, which used to be on the game marketplace for 800MSP, but now I cannot find it; it would have been the $10 story you may have been looking for to tide you over. I too am in a sort of point and click adventure mood at this time, which the genre usually emphasizes story. I'm just waiting on episode 5 of season 2 in Telltale's The Walking Dead to show up so I can start it (I just cannot be left hanging on any series).

I love the original Dead Rising, and it is not hard for me to wrap my head around left-stick aiming so I had no problems with it (aside from Otis calling me at the most inopportune times, I think he does it purposefully, since he sees me through the security cameras). Along with the original Lost Planet, those two Capcom titles were great for me in the early days of the 360. I cannot say if they hold up as well now for others with more refined tastes, but I can still have lots of fun with them. I'm not particularly picky and it does take a lot for me to dislike a game, so know that your opinion will likely be different. I guess that covers the Capcom items discounted in my perspective.

I hope date night turns out alright, because after last week's amazing one which was great to me set the bar a bit higher. A great date night is so refreshing from the many more times where I end out puking into the toilet after all the drinking a bad date night brings.

[EDIT: Dammit Bloomy, I still want those pre-order DLC for Lollipop Chainsaw so bad. Those costumes are forever locked away from me, and has never been released onto the marketplace for purchase. I regret choosing to wait for a lower price on that game. I understand early supporters of the game should get rewarded for their faith (however, I'm not going to buy multiple copies from different retailers for all the various DLC). Yet I know I will never have all the costumes for that game now. Thanks for the like, while I'm still editing this up =/]

So EA Accesss finally launched today, found it on the Xbox One Dash, Madden 25, Fifa 14, Battlefield 4 (Said Premium was installed), and Peggle 2 available. Can't buy the sub with Xbox Live Credit sadly.
If that's the case, $30 a year is great value for just BF4/Premium alone.

If you mind me asking, what did you have to pay with? Xbox Live Credit was my plan, sucks that you can't use it.

Can use PayPal or a Credit Card on file with Microsoft. It is set to auto-renew, but I believe you can disable it.

Nice. EA giving people who said it wouldn't be worth it the pimp hand. That's a great start.
