The following thread are for niche-based Japanese video games by smaller companies such as Atlus, NIS America, AKSYS, XSEED, D3 Publisher, KOEI/TECMO, SNK Playmore, Ignition, Natsume or any sweet deals for those who are passionate and hardcore about Japanese video games even from the bigger companies like SquareEnix, Sega, Bandai Namco, etc.

But to avoid any messiness of links everywhere, we'll focus on games within the last 2-3 years as opposed to the last five-ten. [although, if you do see older titles on sale, please post them regardless].

The theme of these deals are Japanese video games distributed in the US by the smaller niche companies. The thread is literally for those who love Japanese games. There will be a few Korean games that you may see on this list, such as the "DJ Max" games.

crap was going to go WOOOO about luminous but when read its now just being worked out i doubt we will see it before summer 2015 japan and 2016 here (if that) by then the vita will be long forgotten

Also about 0% chance of it ever getting localized. Sega really needs to bring these games over again, but they are holding so much back I don't even care anymore. I'll just take Miku and well yeah Miku.

 
Yeah, the chance of localization is slim. On the bright side, it can be imported. :lol: Or. Sega can have ATLUS do it for them.

I just don't feel right importing RPGs for some reason. Maybe it's cause I know mainly basic Japanese (gained when I used to mess around with some old Japanese visual novels and some games like Tokimeki Memorial). Without understanding the story, RPG games are just so bleh.

Just my 2 cents of course...it is cool to import stuff. My friend is forced to import everything Gundam since Bamco rarely ever brings anything over.

Sega should give the work of localization to ATLUS. :lol: Since. You know, SEGA owns ATLUS now.

Almost nothing is blocked at my job.. But for some reason photobucket is, of all things.

imgur and others are all free game.

A coworker asked me to try a link for a restaurant on TripAdvisor once because it was doing something weird for him. I clicked and it was taking a really long time to load.

The URL looked kind of weird too. RedTube? I was like "wtf is redtube, sounds like some YouTube wannabe. Why is tripadvisor sending me there?"

Then it finally DID load and all I could think was "CLOSE.CLOSE.CLOSE.NOW."

"Okay. Yeah, me too. Just wanted to make sure I didn't have a virus or something"

I always hear a lot about this series, but I would like to play it from the start. It'd be awesome if we ever got Yakuza 1&2 HD for PS4. I know it came out originally for PS3, but current gen would be even better.

That's exactly why they're not going to release any more Yakuza games in the West. No one wants to start a series from the ass end, and if they didn't sell well on the PS2 when Japanese games ruled the roost, why would anyone buy them for PS3 and PS4?

 
All but 2 characters in that party have musical instrument weapons.  I don't get what they were going for.  Also what's with the evil twin and black haired samurai?  Atlus has enough to do That I don't see them working on any sega localizations at the moment.  Not until after p5 anyway unless they have some free hands from the other titles releasing.

Yea, but at least in my case, I have 3, 4, and dead souls, and haven't played any of them.. I just had hopes they would bring over 1 & 2 HD versions so I can start from the beginning.. but I guess not lol.

True but just get rid of the generic, possibly the remakes, and stuff you may not play right away and you may have like 4-5 haha. I am excited for a few of those though and skipping a good amount till they're cheap later.

These are some of the only times to get niche games at excellent prices. Pretty good condition games most of the time too especially if they're niche, since a lot of those don't get rented out often. You need to get in these sales early as stuff will sell out and likely not come back into stock. Also free shipping and usually if you order 2 or more games you get priority shipping which is what most CAGs do. Good luck if you decide to go for these!

I will likely be going for Regular Show 3DS....$9.99 is a decent buy price for me.

Do things usually sell out in a gamefly sale? I have some things I want to get but I can't get them till thursday gotta get oil change and new tires damn car cutting into my gaming funds

 
The niche stuff, such as Demon Gaze and Toukiden likely have less stock, so I can almost guarantee they will sell out in an hour or two. Pretty much after the first day the sale will be very barren with just a few AAA titles that no one really wants (so something like Thief haha). The niche stuff likely wont last more than a day though unless it's something like Ragnarok Odyssey for Vita, since it's not the newest version.

I also know about tires being expensive. Reason my FFF LE got cancelled. Not regretting it much though.

You know, there are so many games that I actually care about coming out this year...and I'm thinking about buying Demon Gaze used because I didn't think that the Limited Edition would be worth so much.

Seriously, I thought it would drop in price over time but I still had to support that game.  :D

BTW, for those who like games like that, Elminage Gothic will be available on Steam VERY shortly (an announcement will be very soon).  It will have a digital artbook pre-order bonus and it looks like it won't be more than $15.  It's priced at £6.99 in the UK.

Gamefly deals are live it seems already. If going for the niche games go quickly as they're are likely less copies available. I know I saw Toukiden and Demon Gaze still available.

Edit: Toukiden, FXIII Lightning Returns are now officially out of stock. Twas quick!

$50 for Demon Gaze LE, and $70 for Guided Fate Paradox LE. How is that expensive?

Edit: Demon Gaze LE was $50, Guided Fate Paradox LE was $75. I don't see what you guys are talking.

Edit 2: Demon Gaze LE needs to sell for $68 for me to break even. Guided Fate Paradox LE about $100 to break even.

eBay prices today. Some copies of Guided Fate Paradox Sealed are listed for $150.

Are we looking at the same ebay?

Guided Fate Paradox LE new, buy it now is $115. Where do you see it $75? Even completed listings (only 1 i saw) sold at $115. Did you mean the original pre-order price?

Thank you all - the prices for Demon Gaze LE and Guided Fate Paradox LE are really different depending on the seller and shipping, but jeez, that's still a decent amount of cash.

I'm not sure if I'm double dipping or not.  I didn't buy Demon Gaze LE to turn out a profit in the end.  I still don't know if I'll keep it sealed or not.
