Humble Bundle Thread

I'm going to pretend that doesn't exist and you never posted it
What's wrong? You don't want to give 5% of your game purchases to Yogscast?

It's easy. You buy a game. Wait a couple of years. Get told they won't give you what you bought, but a different one maybe sometime in the future because the replacement game's team just fire half the staff. Just please be patient for a little while longer.

I'm not calling for DRM free shit, I don't care. I'm calling for retards to stop saying shit is DRM free when it isn't.
DRM-FREE = No-DRM wrapping around the game-files.

No Securom, No Tages, No Steam (CEG), No Origin, No Game Account required; NADA.

I don't have to phone-home online (like Securom Internet DRM did for many games); or be always-online to run said game (think MMO's, Diablo 3, etc); or be forced to boot-up some game-client to run a game (Origin + Steam, in many instances).

I don't have to worry about bullcrap install limits, revokes, forced game-clients, DRM-drivers, and other nonsense.

In the old days - if you lose your disc, you have to re-buy the game.

Also - if a disc say dies or breaks, you're screwed. Go buy said game again.

These days - if I buy a DRM-FREE from a digital site - I just sign into my account w/ a service (like Humble or GOG); grab my files; and let the game install; and DONE.

If I need to - can back-up game-files/installers on DVD, BR's, another HDD, doesn't matter. For re-installing purposes, I have the files, if said companies (Dev's, pub's, digital distributor) goes out of business or whatever happens. As long as I have the files stored somewhere, even if the Internet ever goes away - they're mine; and I can play my Single-Player Component offline.

I missed all the DRM Lite conversation...boooooo.

Still not as entertaining as the charity debate.
At least it wasn't sexist nonsense, like all these women posting pictures of topless male characters with tiny loincloths. I'm sorry my chest isn't six feet wide with four sets of pecs and I can't flex each ab muscle individually! Stop making me feel self-conscious with your idealist views! *throwing up in a toilet while crying*

How else would it work from a practical standpoint?
Source code + Makefile or GTFO.

There argument settled...

This cool weather is making me yearn for fragrant meat, and you're not helping.

So after you pay, you can access your files at anytime without ANY restriction such as a login, right?
just post the torrent links on reddit

thanks too many pages :) shocked they are not just all pushed into one topic
There is usually enough conversation over the major bundle sites to merit their own threads but most of the time someone will cross-post the bundle releases in the Steam thread because there are keys/links, greenlight, cards and such involved.

I just watched the trailer for Gauge.

There have been a couple of times in the past where I've thought I'd seen the worst trailer for anything ever, but no. No, I'm certain I have. Just now.

Anybody have recommendations vis a vis the $5 tier? I don't have any of them, and the trailers for Storm and Wooden Sen'Sey look decent. Poof... eh, I'm pretty much over tower defense.

Michael Cera?

I only heard about the game because it was mentioned a while back in some emulation forums I visit, and then one day it popped up on Steam, so I visited their site and it explained what was going on with the original cart release.

I'd love to see some thoughts on Wooden Sen'SeY or Storm. Those are the two games I don't have in that tier and I'm struggling with the idea of paying $4 for those two games.

The $1 tier is a no-brainer as I have none of them.

Except for the Leading Ladies bundle, I haven't liked any of the bundles from humble in that last two weeks. I guess it is mainly because I am not a fan of android games ported to the PC.

That trailer is actually an accurate representation of the gameplay in Gauge.

No, I'm not kidding. The game's all about keeping bars withing a certain range by tapping or holding keys. Meanwhile, the game flashes obnoxious colors and useless images and words at you to make you mess up. The trailer is showing you exactly what's going to happen the entire time you're playing the game.

Also, if you care about your achievement percentage at all, you're going to want to play it exclusively in offline mode. There's an achievement that's intentionally unattainable and the dev thinks it's hilarious that people try so hard to fill up their achievements.

So he's making games just to be an asshole? That's a new one.

Ugh. I wish Steam would add and enforce a rule where devs cannot add unobtainable achievements to games.

I'm still buying that bundle, I'll just make sure I set his share of the cash to 0.
