i enjoyed pacman chamionship dx and this is in the same vein so i like it. yeah $17 is a lot for this game and id never pay that for this game, but i got it for basically free with plus, so ill enjoy it.

 
I'm fine with whatever as long as they are maxing out the systems capabilities and not gimping the game just to make the fanbase of the weaker console feel better about their purchase.

All I ever hear from Xbone owners is how they dont give a shit about resolution or that they cant tell the difference so I dont see they point in gimping the PS4. Just make their version anything above 720p and they'll be happy.

Honestly no one really cares. It would be nice if all games were 1080p/60 FPS but that's not the case unless it's PC.

Like I said before, it's all for bragging rights and I guess being comfortable having the more "powerful" system.

The real answer is that people should care more about game play then anything I guess that don't happen much any more with 1080p battles
 
I kind of felt that resolutiongate was starting to die down until Ubisoft decided to "avoid all the debates and stuff."  I mean we already know which system has the superior hardware, so bragging that it can run games better is kind of moot.  What would be funny is if Microsoft actually did pay for parity and it backfired bringing all this nonsense back in focus.

With DAI being 1080p on the ps4 I think it debunked any doubts about MS paying for parity. I think UBi are just incompetent developers, and it does suck that they brought the resolution war back into the headlines.

To be fair, all Ubi games have been a mess on PC.


Call it laziness, incompetence, conspiracy or whatever else you want... Any way you slice it, it just looks bad on Ubi's part. They could have even avoided all the backlash if they wouldn't have made the "we wanted to make both versions equal" comment. I couldn't care less about resolution and sometimes I can't tell if something is 30 or 60fps. But when you make incredibly moronic comments like that then I'm afraid you're only asking for it.

So what has everyone been playing lately? And what are you looking forward to playing?

Personally I've been playing Shadow of Mordor and I have Alien. Haven't started Alien yet though, trying to play one at a time. I also have The Evil Within on the way. Hopefully I can finish them up before Sunset comes out.

Looking forward to WWE2k, GTA, and Far Cry.


Also recently picked up Borderlands 2 on Vita(thanks Mixer). Planning on checking that out this week also.

I've been playing SoM a lot more here recently, and while I really want to love it(I do like it, or I wouldn't play at all lol), it keeps doing things to annoy me.  It's nearly impossible to win a battle when 3-4 captains randomly show up(which seems to happen to me a lot), and I'm not a big fan of some of the stealth segments.  Especially when the one I just did was completed, and then someone saw me just as I finished... And I had to do it all over again.  :headache:

Finally caved and picked up Driveclub today, it seems pretty good to me so far, though I am not a racing afficionado or anything so I'm probably not the best judge.  

PIcking up Peggle 2 on Tuesday, so there's that, and I totally forgot about Alien Isolation. I might need to pick that up in a few weeks or I may just wait to see what BF sales look like as they should be up by then.

 
I've mostly been playing Shadows of Mordor still. Great game, but I've been playing it less and less since it's starting to feel a little repetitive. Currently trying to fight the urge to buy The Evil Within since SSO is only a couple weeks from releasing.

Oh yeah I know that, but I'm not sure if I want to be spending the money on it since I still haven't beaten Shadows of Mordor.

Has anybody purchased a travel bag for their PS4? I'll be dog sitting my brother's house for a week since he'll be on his honeymoon and since I've done a lot of house sitting before I figured it'd be nice to invest in a bag to keep my system safe. I was looking at this one, but I was wondering if anybody had any other recommendations?

Never traveled with my PS4 before but I can still advise you to just leave the dog outside :p

I didn't even know they still made such things... I remember how I cherished my official GCN carrying case. I took that thing with me everywhere. lol

 
Anyone pick up the PS TV? I want it but was going to hold off. Might just use some Walmart credit and get it after work tonight. After rebooking at PS Now, a lot of games are reasonably priced.

So... Is anyone liking Evil Within? I am pretty disappointed and not because of the bars or the way it looks it just feels boring. Trying to immerse myself play at night and with headphones but it just feels like a struggle. I don't know if its me or the game is glitchy as all shit but the invisible enemies somehow show up in front of me then a second later or so are behind me with no clear path..

I Bought Drive Club since I've had some PSN money for awhile and have been itching to play a racing game. I think the driving controls/style feels really good and I definitely like it more than how driving was on the FH2 demo. Graphically the game doesn't "wow" me don't get me wrong it looks great, but from the tracks I've done so far I haven't had a "wow" moment yet.

Unfortunately I really suck at driving, and the AI seems really hard to play against.

I'm glad they're so hard at work on the suspend/resume feature they promised over a year ago now. I believe as launch came closer their line was "available shortly after launch"... This is gonna end up turning into the PS3's access the xrossmediabar during gameplay where it ends up coming out and is completely gimped compared to what they promised.

Change colors: In addition to the ability to add a theme, PS4 owners can also change the background of the home screen from light blue to one of seven new colors: gold, blue, red, green, purple, pink, and gray.

Well HOLD THE fuckING PHONE We're gettin' colors on the home screen?!?! Holy shit, who needs suspend/resume when we've got fucking colors? Man, I'm tellin' ya, if they come out with stickers for the home screen this gen is over, Microsoft is fucking finished in the gaming industry.

Listening to your own music while gaming is a great feature and I'm glad they've added it. That being said not being able to copy it to the PS4 and being forced to keep the USB Stick in which takes up a USB port is annoying.

Also annoyed that there doesn't seem to be folder support yet.

(Edit) Thanks RedvsBlue I completely forgot to notice there's still no Suspend/Resume which was supposed to come after launch last year....

Don't get me wrong, some of the features they're adding will be nice, such as the "add to library" button that lets you claim your PS+ games without having to actually begin the download. On the other hand, some of this stuff is stuff that should have been in from the start, for example, the improvements to the content area and limiting it to the most recently used apps/games. In the end, this is a pathetically sad list of additions in what should be, according to their version numbering, the most significant upgrade to the firmware/OS since launch.

 
I think its a solid update, and according to the blog thats not the full list. Hopefully the ability to pause downloads and friend notifications are in it. I just wanted folders but it doesnt look like that will be coming. The library update is nice but they should pin it to the front so you dont have to scroll all the way to the end to get to it. And I gotta admit, the lack of suspend/resume is pretty ridiculous at this point considering it was a feature they touted way back at the reveal.

 
PS4 sure is lacking when it comes to the FW updates. Im interested in trying the shareplay feature though. I think that has some serious potential.

Not shocking when you factor in the white Destiny bundle. I wonder if the SO bundle will have the same success for MS.

I dunno. The madden bundle didn't help much and they did give out a free game when destiny came out and still didn't make a dent. Doesn't help that sunset isnt getting a whole lot of media hype like destiny.
 
Probably not, but it still sell out.  Only downside is the late release date in the month for NPD tracking.

Actually there's no video support confirmed as of yet, that MP4 post was them mentioning which audio files were supported for the Music Player.

That's because people were buying the Destiny bundle, lol. Hell i know more than a few people that traded in their Black PS4 for the Destiny bundle.

But if that makes you feel better cool. I knew you would be the one to come in here and try to spin it.

Remember, Microsoft did a Buy an Xbox One get a free game the week Destiny came out so im sure they helped pushed the sells numbers for non bundle. Most people on this site were getting Destiny to flip back or Diablo III to keep.

Excited to see what else is added to the the list of features in Ver 2.0. It's also worth noting in a reply on the blog, they said "Sony wants you to play this years biggest games with this years biggest update". My guess would be that we get this update before the end of October. This is definitely a major update to the system. I understand why people want other things but I have to say they're moving in the right direction. From what I understand the new layout will have the 15 most recent games/apps and all the others will be listed in the My Library folder. Then while inside library you can sort by type, name, and most recent.

Also the PS+ "add to library" feature is useful but basically something that can already be done from the SEN website. Just purchase the free Plus games and they are added to your download list.

Changing the background color doesn't seem like something I will do, but I would definitely use the Themes. That red one, pictured on the Blog, that looks like blood looks amazing.

Still so far my most anticipated feature for 2.0 is SharePlay.

I also read online that the devoloper of No Mans Sky was teasing something Playstation related. And there is supposed to be two big reveals at the PlayStation Event in December. It's unclear if these are related.
 
Im excited to play my music when I play. I listen to mostly christian and classical music. Not 1 and 2 on most used genres in games lol
I ordered a usb drive from amazon a few minutes ago. Hope sony is ready for their music service to take a dive.
