All these particular games I've listed here are Steam
most been bundle and u forget a-train 9

Is the original Shadowrun worth it or should I just wait for a sale on the Dragonfall version?
I don't know who has even played the original. Squirrel? If it was on GMG I would say just read Severose's review. Shadowrun Returns has been in my backlog for a long time.

Well, Legend of Grimrock 2 is pretty good and much harder for me to put down than the first one. Enjoying it far more too.

Also, fuck Air Elementals. I have a list of other things, but that one tops the list.

All Hail the Rat King.
Thanks for the impressions! I just dug the first one out of the backlog and started playing it the other day, and am really enjoying it. It really needs music, though. The ambient sounds alone are not doing it for me.

Reviews, both professional and community, are pretty good, but it's been this price before and it will be again. Personally I'm holding out for a bundle.
another true CAG detected (I surely hope you mean Humble Bundle & not just a repackage of Shadowruns & Dragonfall DC version)

I have played both Shadowruns. I haven't played the Director's Cut of Dragonfall, just the DLC add-on to the main game.

Dragonfall IS the better campaign, but Dead Man's Switch is quite good as well, and you'll get all of the steam community content to use with the game as well, which is heavily based on user modules.

Dead Man's Switch is definitely worth the $3.75. It's about 10-12 hours long and I loved it. Dragonfall adds another 15 or so hour campaign on that is completely separate, and just a bit better made, though both stories are really fun.

If you have interest in Shadowfall, pick up the original, play through it, enjoy it, maybe play some community content, then when Dragonfall: DC is 75% off pick that up and play through that, because by then you'll want to jump into that universe again.

Shadowfall vanilla and Dragonfall aren't really an either/or decision. Play one then play the other. DF is a little smarter in its design, but they're basically modules for the same game and both fantastic.

Thanks! I think I'll pick it up in an attempt to finally wipe out this remainder of playfire credit.

Not that I think most of us would be interested, but I figured it might be worth posting for posterity, at least.

Crusader Kings II Collection (which currently includes base game and 42 of the 48 available DLCs) is 75% off at MacGameStore.com, at $39.99. It's a Steam key, and CK2 features SteamPlay, so it should be good for Windoze, as well. I'm not sure how it stacks up to previous deals on this offer, since ITAD's listing for it goes back longer than the listing has sold for its current MSRP of $159.99 (presumably before the collection was bumped up to include more of the available DLC), and this particular collection hasn't been lower than that on Steam since. I have no idea which DLC are missing, because, fuck me, I'm not comparing the complete list to the Collection's list.

Of course, none of this especially matters, since not even a #FakeCAG would buy CK2 before CK3 is announced and the actually finally complete bundle (except not really, HAHA) falls to $5… right? RIGHT!?

In tangential news, I had no idea that apparently there's a converter that lets you import details about your CK2 save into an EUIV game. That's kinda nifty.

In case someone wants it really bad, you can save some dollars with coupon code: ck2collection => $35.99 [78% off]

Unless you are a heavy multitasker, photo editor, or play games with like 100+ browser tabs open, we're still a ways off from games requiring/recommending more than 8GB. While 4K is here, I don't see it becoming consumer mainstream for at least a couple to a few years from now. Content delivery and storage means are only starting meet the minimal demands it will require. Besides, RAM is the last thing gamers need to worry about. That said, my new rig has 16GB. Reason...none.
I went with 16 a couple years ago as well, just because. Well, if there is a reason it's that it was dirt cheap. I bought this for only $66 2 years ago.

And now I'm off to run a half marathon. If I die, please make sure no incriminating pics of me are stolen and posted here. All my unredeemed indie bundle fodder I leave to Mooby because he loves dat indie trash.

Edit: The person that guesses my finishing time(how long it takes me, not the time of day I finish) the closest, to the second, wins their choice of one of my extra bundle foodder keys that everyone probably has anyway. Pm to not clog thread please.

Please someone tell me im almost done with the witcher before i take my own life out of sheer boredom. i just got to chapter 4,i cant take anymore.

Apparently there's a bit of news floating around the net about another console game being ported to PC.

This time it's Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. A very good game that I will have to fakeybro when it comes.

I have a few copies of this. On emulators and the PSOne version on the PSN. Love it, love it, love it. Would totally buy it again if it had Steam achievements.

You kinda are. There's a chapter 5 and an epilogue, but the first three chapters are way longer if I remember right - although it has been a few years.

I loved the game but I can totally see where you're coming from, especially if you're doing a lot of sidequests. That game has the worst quest tracking system ever and waaaay too much backtracking.

Are you talking about Witcher 1 or 2? I'm playing the second one. I love the game but it feels like I can play three hours and make hardly any progress. It just seems to be paced slowly.

There is some music in the second, but mostly it's very faint in the background with some exceptions.

Beat the game and missed two extra story related items that I think may have allowed me to get a couple more achievements and potentially a different ending. Game was just too difficult to put down, which is fairly rare for me. Every time I'd say fuck this shit, I'd be back on the game 15 minutes later trying a solution to a puzzle that popped into my head while I was off.

just these 2 chapters huh, i guess ill just stick with it.Yeah my biggest gripe is so much time wasted back tracking,bad quest organization and the story is so dam slow. i pray to god 2 fixes all the problems.

i think both are slow (Witcher 1 is PAINFULLY slow). I do'nt get why it got such high mark and then spawn a sequel :drool:
Yeah im so amazed this game spawned a sequel at all.

Boobies.

It's insanely popular in the country it was developed in, Poland. I'm not just talking about the game but the books as well. It would have spawned a sequel even if it didn't release in North America. Hell, their Prime Minister gave President Obama a copy back when it released. That and the Polish Playboy featured Triss as the cover girl.

Regardless, it's a like it or hate it game more or less. The first one is more difficult to get into because of how it controls or plays out. The second picks up better than the first one and has improved controls/gameplay, however if you hated it in the first one then chances are you aren't going to like the second either.

Maybe Witcher series just ain't your cup of tea.

Fantastic environments, story + characters;

excellent technical graphics that pushed PC's (especially Witcher 2);

decisions that actually carry weight + (do) matter;

by the time you actually see the results of some of your decisions how many hours later, it's too late to go back to want to reload a save - so that will actually often cause you to stick w/ your decisions, no matter what;

decisions are often shades of gray and it ain't obvious how things will turn out;

and one of the better games at attempting + pushing the mature-content thing.

And that's just for starters here.

If you want way more action from a RPG, you're playing the wrong game.

i think u described Witcher 2. I still want to hear your opinion on Witcher 1...

p.s. still think combat is slow as heck...

To all you Pre-Sequel players...now that I have Wilhelm to level 50, who should I play next? I'm thinking I may go with Athena.

Oh, and fwiw, I ended up doing almost every side quest in TVHM (except the one in R&D that I can't find) to get to 50 in addition to a bit of grinding. Guess I could have saved myself some trouble by starting TVHM at level 28-30 instead of level 25.

And the winner is...me. Not a single person made a guess. All my super awesome game keys are safe for another day.

No, I described both of them.

I loved both games, actually.

I didn't describe the combat b/c TW1+2 have much different combat systems.

TW1 feels more like - well, a rhythm game when in combat.

TW2 feels more like Dark Souls - you have to be smart, methodical, have good timing, realize exactly how to defeat certain enemies - or forget about it.

Of course, TW2 is more forgiving than Dark Souls.

Actually, I did not care too much of the Final Chapter (Chapter 3) in TW2. Everything in it - back when I played it, when the game first came out - smelled of "rush job" and "set up for TW3".

I prefer TW1 for introducing the TW style of gray-area decision-making + living often w/ your decisions (felt very fresh at the time), characters (both Shani + Triss characters were excellent in this game) + the way the story actually wraps-up...

...while I prefer TW2 for the technically drop-dead gorgeous graphics + improvements galore on the actual combat system.

Oddly, I kinda want it.
Waiting for inevitable Toaster DLC. ;)

How long did it take you in Play-through #1 to get through the game w/ Wilhelm?

And how did you like BL:TPS, when compared to both BL1+2?

I thought both 1 and 2 were decent games. Not very good, but not bad. 2 fixes a lot of the pacing problems 1 has (it's much shorter). I thought both games were competent RPGs, but nothing special. Both games are really overrated, imho. Neither games' story really does much for me, the gameplay of both is decidedly "meh," getting around in the world can be a pain in the ass, and good lord did Witcher 1 seem to drag on. I'm hoping three addresses a lot of the issues, but to be honest, I'm not optimistic. I think it'll be a slightly upgraded Witcher 2 just placed in a massive and prettier world.

About 15 hours, maybe a bit less for PT1. PT2 took much longer. I like BLtPS, but I'll be honest, I think it's the weakest of the three. Aside from the addition of lasers, cryo, oxygen and low gravity, it's essentially a smaller scope BL2 with, in my opinion, weaker writing. I don't expect the volume of DLC that followed BL2 to be present here either. First off, I don't see a big level cap increase coming, at least not to 72. Maybe to 61 if UVHM is reintroduced, but because the skill trees are smaller, you can already get two capstone skills by level 50. It's fun, but I'd honestly have a hard time recommending it to someone new to the series (not taking into account the fact that they'd have no clue what was going on with the story).

SotN is in my all time top ten list so it pains me to admit I will be passing on the PC version if its not an improvement over the 360 port...
