Almost 25% of the games are Smash. Melee and Wii U are both in with 7 other games.

Even Street Fighter only has a single entry. It's a bit of a change from the 2014 "Smash is here as an exhibition". >_>

The "pros" who want to play those games at tourneys will have enough time to put into it... I mean, look at Justin Wong -- he was playing a bunch of MKX and winning shortly after it came out. And Tekken is pretty much always Tekken. Especially when it's not Tekken Tag. It's why I can still play Devil Jin decently even though I haven't played Tekken seriously since Tekken 3.

Smash players ... they're so focused on getting recognition by the FGC for some reason that they just keep trying harder and harder and harder. And EVO? Well, if you have like 10k people saying "we want smash to be a part of this because we think it's a fighting game" and they're going to spend money and pay entrance fees and bring a whole new community of viewers along with them? It was only a matter of time before something like this happened.

Unless Smash somehow follows the likes of Marvel and somehow gets its community to embrace the WiiU iteration of the game, I think you're 100% right. Smash Wii U will fade away like all the other games that were sort of "one and done" and if Smash continues to be a part of EVO, it will surely be the Melee community (much the way MvC2 was a staple for the longest time because there was no MvC3).

I'm not sure why they did it... maybe because they had to re-record the audio for the HD version and they didn't think the actors could mimic the delivery of the original actors [which would enrage fans of it anyway: what the heck, it's not the same?!], they figured they'd try to actually improve the script/dialogue to not be such a horrible translation?

I watched someone's let's play of the first section of playing as Jill and I can't say I give a . "Jill, you, the master of unlocking" or whatever is just bad to me (not so bad it's good) where as the tone/delivery of another Capcom classic [SotN] really does deliver/make it: "What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets"
