So the new streams still get viruses and shit and chromebooks dont? That is why I was looking at chromebooks to begin with as I dont want to have to mess with any updates to software or anything.
Chrome OS is a much simpler operating system. I haven't heard of any reports of malware and viruses targeting Chrome OS.

If all you want to do is get online to web browse and check email they work really well. Printing can be an issue though on older printers. They aren't running a full OS so printing is done through the Cloud. The simplicity (and much smaller market share) makes them a much smaller target. We don't print a lot but when we do it is from a Windows machine. My 3 or 4 year old laser printer doesn't support Google Cloud Print. If you need MS office I wouldn't recommend one though.

Yeah, I wouldnt do anything but surf the net on it. I have a laptop from work for anything serious. And I dont play any games on PC. So chromebook is for me then.
If you can wait a few more weeks. New Chromebooks are coming out based on the lastest Intel CPU/chipset. Mostly better battery life. Even if you don't need that it should drive the prices down on the older models.

I can drag a tab into the bookmark bar in my Mac Chrome. Pretty sure I've done it at home too on my PC.
I just tried it in 8.1. Didn't work there.

I'm almost 3/4 through the Duke 3d base campaigns. The 2nd campaign sucked but the third is my favorite so far. The maps in the 3rd are laid out simpler so I'm not having to do as much running around trying to figure out where to go. Either that or I'm getting more used to the general design practices. Once I'm done with the 4 base campaigns there's still 3 expansion campaigns left to go, each having another 8-10 levels.

The number of levels in the game is pretty ridiculous. There's around 60 campaign maps. At some point I'd like to see a legitimate explanation for how trophies work because there's no way Duke 3d: Atomic Edition has less content than Resistance: Burning Skies. Has any explanation that makes sense other than publishers paying for the platinum been put forward?

Chromebooks can be good if you know linux. I also have a C720 except I'm running Linux as well as XBMC on it via a chroot with Crouton. It's a really quick machine. When you are in Chrome it's a super snappy browsing experience. If you can get around certain things like playing Spotify instead of .mp3s, using google apps instead of Office, etc. etc. it can work. Windows definitely has more to offer program wise but with that freedom comes the viruses.
When we get a new one I might take the C720 and put Linux on it. I am/was more familiar with FreeBSD Unix but always wanted to put Linux on a cheap computer to mess around with.

Hah. What a problem to have:

CellarDoorGames ‏@CellarDoorGames 46m46 minutes ago

Hey guys, too many people played Rogue Legacy over the weekend on PSN, and Sony had to disable Cloud/cross saving for the moment.

(1/2)

This will cause issues such as a permanent hanging save gear, and the inability to Cross-save. Trying to come up with a fix. Sorry! (2/2)
Rogue Legacy: The next MCC?

I agree completely.  Subway is a horrible sub shop.  They have always been the worst.  They just hit lightning in a bottle with Jared/healthy craze and blew up to be the biggest fast food chain in the world (a few years ago anyway).

Potbelly's was excellent. Puts Subway to shame, and I'd say it even has a lot better flavor than Jimmy Johns. I got the Pizza Sandwich (I'll get it with no mushrooms next time cuz it was overloaded with them) and FWB got the Wreck. Really good and decent prices. Maybe some of you big eaters would still be hungry and need 2 sandwiches, but I was very content with just one.
I always get the big size sandwiches and it's good to fill my big appetite. I've been meaning to try the Pizza Sandwich. I also like it a little better than Jimmy Johns, but Jimmy's is easier to get and cheaper for the most part (I think).

The Turkey and meatballs aren't horrible. Sometimes the chicken can be ok too. Lots of people really like the bread which is different then most other sub shops. It has been months since I went to Subway. Rather go to a real deli or even some Pizza places make cold cut subs.

I definitely have to try Jimmy John's again this week.  I will go to a different location too just to see if they also make the sandwich as fast as the first one I went to.  It really was the most impressive thing I have seen in a long time.

Why are you GOING to JJs?

They deliver...

My boss recently got an HP Pavillion 17T laptop because they were one of the few places still offering new laptops with Windows 7 installed (to ensure it is compatible with the software we use). It's got a full keyboard with number pad, but I must caution their trackpads ARE god awful. The one that came on his there is no left and right mouse button, you press on the upper right or upper left corner of the track pad and the corner of the pad moves down and clicks. Really, really awful. Just buy a wireless mouse to use with it. Everything else about it he likes.

The Turkey isn't horrible? I didn't know Turkey was supposed to be green. The meatball is serviceable, but with them jacking the price up on it so much it isn't even worth it anymore. I have decided to stop being lazy and cheap and I just drive further to get a sandwich from Firehouse. I think if I just didnt want to deal with that the Publix next door to Subway is probably a better bet.

Every one I have ever been to is that fast. Unless there is a rush it usually takes about a minute from order to sandwich in hand. My friend's daughter worked there and she could not make sandwiches until she passed a test where she could immediately recite back the ingredients for every item on the menu by memory in a certain amount of time. I think that is a large part of why they are so fast.

They deliver...
A. I have one on the way home for dinner

B. I have one near work for lunch

C. I would have to tip the delivery driver (costs up)

D. I would feel like a douche ordering delivery for one sandwich

E. What would Equistina do?

My HP does not do that... the whole right side is right click, the whole left side is left click... I think it is perfectly fine.

Firehouse made a good sub, but few bread options and few toppings options. Also the ham tastes like it is first soaked in sugar water (my son got a ham and cheese). The beef brisket sub was good, but it wasn't THAT great. I don't know if I'll drive the 16 minutes again.

Few topping options?!?!? WTF are you talking about? Does your's not have a wall of sauce options? Maybe you are talking about lettuce and tomato type of options, and I could see that if their subs needed those. That picture of yours looked awful. Besides the massive amount of disgusting mayo, the meat looked undercooked as well. Maybe it was just a bad camera phone pic.

The ham and turkey they use is very sweet. That is definitely a valid complaint if you are one of those types that would turn up their nose at a honey baked ham.

No you whore.

How is PJ Shooter coming along? And Uncharted 2?
I have two levels left in stage 5, with all collectables gathered so far. Then just the hidden stage and done. Should be done with the plat tonight or tomorrow.

I'm about halfway done Uncharted 2 on hard difficulty. Had to redo several firefights a bunch of times, but eventually pushed through. I just finished the first train chapter last night before bed, so I get to go right back on the train tonight. Loving it so far. Not sure why I waited to play it so long. But everyone's eyes seem really watery. Or shiny. Or just weird.

Your eyes would be shiny too if you were full of awesome.

Also, I totally suck at finding treasures in this game. Uncharted 1 I had a decent amount by the time I finished, but in 2 I can barely find one or two per chapter. Thought I was doing well after the first 2, but then I realized I missed over half of them. I'll get those if/when I do my Crushing play.

1/2 price on Burgers at KC Smoke Burgers on Mondays, they are getting better at it as this time the burger only took 7 minutes from the time of ordering. 1/2 pound bacon cheeseburger was really tasty and the fries were crunchy without being burnt.

You shut your damn mouth.

Did you not get mayo? If so, that was where you went wrong with that one.
No, I got mayo and the sub was good. Opted for it as listed. I just don't think it was quite deserving of all the praise here. Good, not amazingly good. Also it was a bit expensive for what it was. Especially paying for me and both boys.

Well since people aren't counting completeing a game as getting the platinum, I finished Dying light over the weekend. Just have the grinding and since a lot of the trophies are glitched may wait for the platinum.

On to work on transistor and NCAA 13
Don't take this the wrong way, but you're the only one who didn't show up for the Dying Light sessions we attempted over the past week. Is there any chance we could try that again this week?

Like (I think it was) Gator says, my worry about Q*bert is the controls since the arcade game has 45º angled 4-way sticks. I'll wait for you guys to test it out.

They use honey ham so it's going to be sweet. I usually go for the Hook and Ladder or Italian. I'll probably try the Firehouse Hero next time.

Gamefly just pulled one of their reach way down into the Q to send a seemingly random game stunts.  I am not sure why they bypassed so many Available Nows ahead of it.  I will NOT be adding Lego Hobbit PS4 to my 4 for Feb even as a bonus.  That one has such an obnoxious post game grind.  At least all the others I mentioned are more likely now.

You also have to pay a delivery fee on top of tipping the driver.

It's basically a debate of "Does spending $5 make up for not having to drive 10-20 minutes to go grab my food?". I usually just pick it up. Same with pizza, I usually order that carryout.

Basically just a lazy vs. cheap argument.

Has anyone mentioned that Q*Bert has three separate trophy lists for a cross-buy game?

Because it looks like Q*Bert has three separate trophy lists for a cross-buy game.

http://www.exophase.com/?s=Q*bert
I stopped mentioning it because it pisses me off. Stupid games like Q-bert and Sparkle 2 get three separate trophy lists, whereas good games that people may actually want to play more than once (like Rogue Legacy and Terraria) have to share a single list.

Also just noticed this Publisher comment from the PS Blog:

"We think people will like the price for this Q*Bert cross-buy…especially if they’re PS Plus members. :)"
They always say that. Like Vig said, it's probably just gonna be $10 (or even $15) with the standard 20%-30% off for Plus members.

Shit, I'll buy it. I buy everything on sale.

70%+ off? Hell yeah I do. Decent way to support developers that I'm already snubbing by not buying their games at launch and a great way to show Sony that deep discounts move products and they should have more of them.

Not going to buy Qbert for 20% off. I don't buy anything digital at launch anymore, you should know that by now.
