Splitting the cost of a PS3 share by 50% is perhaps a justifiable reason to have to co-ordinate things like PW changes and resets. Trying to communicate with a locked spot owner on a site you aren't registered on, in order to save a couple of bucks isn't the best plan IMO.

Then there are periodically shady people doing shady things, and the less people with the current PW helps narrow down the "source of the problem". Having to factor in a locked spot owner isn't ideal to have stacked on the situation.

Locked spots can suck it.

$5 is saved (for both resell and phantom) if a locked slot is done on release, but $10 (resell only) if sold after release.

PS3 games that cost $15 or less on the store have the resells saving $5 a piece by grouping with someone. For the $10 savings case, that's equivalent to a PS3 game that costs $30 on the store.

Cross-buy groups have seen PS4 resells paying $20, as opposed to the $35 they would normally pay. If a locked slot in a PS4-only group is sold after release, the resell would be paying $25. By going the cross-buy route, they are saving an additional $5, but they now have to share with two other members.

You can try starting a group: [PS4] NBA2K15 - $29.49

The same reason you ask anyone if there is a locked spot in a resell. It's a bother to deal with time consuming to track down here. And its food for scammers. Unless u want to manage every group that consist of one?

Same can be said for cross-buy groups. If someone is selling a slot in either of these groups, they are supposed to tell the buyer about there being other owners before the deal goes through.

I've done several shares with locked spots and never once had issues. It all comes down to trusting those you deal with. Which is why if I do join a group with locked spots, I do it on GTZ where access to the sharing is limited to people who have made several deals outside of game shares.

And yet here we have Oblivionichigo selling a part of a share on another forum only a week after the game released.

*@Oblivionichigo - You're free to do that, but make sure all parties know of the arrangements (and agree to them) before completing the deal.

locked slots are too much of a pain in the ass. You save $5 and have to put more risk on your share forever. If money is that tight you should be timesharing and not buying imo. locked spots show who the true cheap ass gamers are, heh

You also save $5 when doing a PS3 group for a $15 game. With cross-buy groups, the PS4 resell saves $7.50 per additional user.

Multiple PS3 resells means 50% of the cost each, cross buy means significant savings percentage wise all around, while a locked slot gives you a minor fraction in return - no matter how much the cost of the account is. Many of of us are simply of the opinion that locked spots are not worth that hassle. I don't offer locked spots initially or down the road either. Despite all the calculations I'm sure you can make, I'd simply rather have the peace of mind on my PS4 slots then the 7% or whatever measly amount it is. The Risk+Pain are valued less then the Reward when it comes to locked slots.

The are several problems with locked spots. Most of the games can be played on a main simply by switching users. There are several users on GTZ that will only buy a locked spot if it can be switched. Thus, a person buying a locked spot of Dying Light for $10 is getting the exact same share that cost a resell holder $30. The only difference being the user account must first be signed into as opposed to just signing in on the main. Comparing PS4 shares to PS3 shares doesn't quantify the differences in risk that PS4 resell holders are subjected to. PS3 shares have 4 users splitting the share three ways. The PS3 resell holders are susceptible to an equal amount of risk. The same cannot be stated for PS4 shares. Trying to simplify the discrepancy to a dollar savings is ridiculous. It is about risk. There is no reason why a person should be acquiring a game for roughly 16% of the share and retain the account information. Furthermore, the slot can be sold. Personally I won't allow a locked spot on an account I create. If someone is looking to pay $10 for a share and recuperate at least half that (typically locked spots are listed for $7 on GTZ), they should be willing to pay $5 for a timeshare. Locked spots are the bench warmers that still get a ring due to the starters' performances. They get carried the whole way.

Your issue doesn't seem to be with the nature of the locked slot, but the pricing of it.

Make an arrangement with the owner where they don't sell it? For all groups (PS3 or PS4), regardless of setup, members of the group should be informed when a slot is sold and to which member it was sold.

Raiborg you are missing the point. There is no structure here to manage,trace,or deal with lock slot users. Basically you are justifying the crossbuy situation as a perfect example. My answer to you is If we were to find out how many members still are the original owners of the advance warfare and destiny slots not many ppl can say them. Which lies the problem. I can care less for the pricing all i care about is

1) the security of my account.

2) the avoidance of issues latter down the road. Example: The resident evil issue from he library yes i know it has nothing to do with this but the concept is what im talking about

3)Tracing from person to person not all members will remember to ask if a locked spot is present. And WHY CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE WE HAVE TO DO THAT NOW??

It all boils down to the annoyance of policing a resell that you purchase and praying that it isnt passed on to a noob who thinks he bought a $5 resell and changes the password upon purchase.

Unless you want to be the cheif of investigations for locked spot transactions if it is let loose here I say TREAT LOCK SPOT TUTORIALS JUST AS PHANTOMING TUTORIALS.

If you are strictly interested in locked spot game sharing then there are other avenues and sites yo can utilize

The person that came up with the concept in my opinion and i speak for NOBODY but myself here CHEATED THE SYSTEM AND PLAYED ON THE HEARTS OF HARDCORE FANATICAL TROPHY HUNTERS *No offence to anyone* making it appear that they cared so much for trophies that it was a deal breaker to not pay phantom price AT LEAST for it. This was allowed to run free into the wild to evolve into something that we probably can never go back and change. This reminds me Great Britain who claimed that their pilots ate alot of carrots in their diet thats why they were able to intercept Nazi warplanes so effortlessly when in reality Great Britain had the most sophisticated radar system on earth.

So to this day over 50 years later mothers tell their kids to eat carrots for good eyesight.

Cross-buy group #1:

PS4 slot: A, D, H, I

PS3 slot #1: B

PS3 slot #2: C, F, G

Using the above as an example, when A sells their slot to D, they should be letting B and C know that D is the new owner. After the deal has finished, B, C and D should be agreeing on a new password. If C sells their slot to F, they should be repeating the previous steps. If you were to message I, B or G, they should be able to tell you who the other owners are. If they can't, it's because some owners in the group couldn't be bothered to send one little message after selling their slot.

1) Don't sell the locked slot to someone you don't trust or someone who would sell to a shady member without a second thought.

2) As mentioned above, all the locked user has to do is message the resell when (if) they sell their slot, including the name of the buyer.

As for REmaster, I have already mentioned that iv30shaymin needs to be contacted, as he was the host.

3)They shouldn't have to ask if a locked slot is present: The seller should be disclosing this info before the sale goes through, ideally, in their ad in the thread.

I'm not saying locked slots should be used, but I'm also not saying they shouldn't be used.

It's not just a lack of trophies. An internet connection is required and if PSN is unstable, you will be unable to use the slot. Save data is also tied to the locked slot. If by some chance the info is changed, the user is left with nothing.

Raiborg this brings me back to my initial point. Why create the unnecessary stress of your algebra formula for locked spots? What if its a really old account a year from now and the user forgets its a locked spot? Or forgets there is a locked spot in his resell? There is no lack of faith in the community on my part. But a sense of trying to create an environment where we are here to play games and sell them off when we are done effortlessly if we so choose. We are not here to police or babysit a share due to the anomaly of locked spots being passed from hand to hand. The little message to other members u are talking about can turn into a big issue life happens even if you literally check the thread every 20 mins. I have no issue with thread vets doing Locked spots amongst themselves as long as it stays within themselves and doesn't get resold. Especially to noobs. My main issue if u look back was letting new ppl know how it works to prevent it from becoming a norm. This is my opinion but like I said the community needs to decide whether they want it or not.
