WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

I was grabbing a set of 4 for 10$ today and saw a used pair of sony gold's hanging up for 15$ . Somebody must of really needed 2$ ... or they stole it .

That's why you always check the used accessories. Once I got a set of Monster 360 Component Cables for cheap because they were traded in as "X360 Component Other"

It was just hanging behind the counter and I was like that can't be the gold's but it was . I've never even bought a used controller let alone a headset but for 13.50$ plus tax after pur I couldn't say no . Already have the white ones but I'll either sterilize the hell out of it for a backup or pass them off to a friend at cost .

these examples are exactly why i have a hard time driving past a gamestop or vintage stock without going in. vintage stock amazes me because they are so overpriced and then they sell $50-$60 guitar hero dongles for $3.99. and you have to love gamestop's policy of every accessory is generic, no matter what it is. got a nearly new pull and go folio for the vita for $8 just last week. only bad part is the leaving without buying anything the 95% of the time they dont have anything good.

I was eyeing the pull and go folio for the longest time but couldn't bring myself to pay 30$ . I found a used one finally after a while , thing is perfect .
 
Yeah, every once in awhile you can come across a good deal in the accessories section -- I picked up a Gold Nunchuck at my local GS one day, just sitting there in the used accessories for ~$10 or something.  Snatched that thing up (made sure it wasn't just spray painted or something) and then walked out of the store all victorious-like! ;)

 
Any other options for getting a cheap B2G1 other than the 15000 PUR points renewal? Was going to pick up 2 wii games and figured if I could find a cheap enough coupon i might as well try for the free 3rd game.

 
I have a buy 2 get 1 free GS coupon expiring soon, any ideas?  I have a couple $9 ds games I want to pick up, but not sure it makes sense to use it on such a cheap item.

Does the system just stop giving the discount or is it up to us to keep track? I assume the limit is 3 like trades?

I was only going to use it on a $17.99 game (so really about $13 after bday + pur + taxes). That's why I was asking about the 15000 points since it didn't seem worth it, but if you've already got one thats going to expire, then the only other option for you would be to sell it to someone else before it expired (or I guess you could always just give it to a guy who has King Arthur for an avatar as well). ;)

There may be a tiv boost this weekend.

I got an email tonight saying $40 tiv for Mario kart 8 and gta V xbo, $35 for borderlands collection and a couple others. Valid through may 24.

My email showed $40 for Xenoblade Chronices :)wii:), $35 for LoZ: Skyward Sword and OoT 3D, and $30 for Kirby's Return to Dream Land.

 
I traded in two games today and received an extra 5 dollar promo for each one; I couldn't find any information online about it and the employee didn't mention it. I didn't post about it as I wasn't really sure what happened.

 
Welp, my email showed:

$40 - Smash Bros. Wii U, Mario Kart 8

$30 - DKC: Tropical Freeze

$27.50 - Smash Bros. 3DS

I'm assuming these are base values. Am I right?

Were they PS4 or Xbone? I thought I saw a promo for extra 5 on next gen game tradein
 
Bumped values aren't showing on the app , not sure about the website . Looks like we are going to have to compile a list , my email has ocarina of time 3ds 35$. Wish I still had those xenoblades I dumped at target today .

Gamestop completely sucks. Project Cars came out on the 12th and the trade-in is only $25. I tried to just return it, opened but unmarked, but of course they wouldn't take it. "We can't sell it as new if it's been opened". They didn't really care for me much after I pointed out that they sell open-case product as new all the time when they sell a display copy! Really getting sick of this company! thankfully there was a store right next door that gave me $41 for it...

I don't think that's what happened, but remain ignorant and make rude assumptions if you want. Most Gamestops sell gutted new copies of games even on release, where the game is "new" yet opened. They slap a "new" price sticker on the box, and sell the game at MSRP which is a scummy move. Even if you purchase a gutted game and attempt to return it as new, they will refuse which questionable considering that you are trying to return a game under the same definition that they have for "new" games. I assume that's what happened to the person you mocked.

Ok so I wasn't the only one. Traded in a bunch f games today and was surprised to see amextravpromosnbeing added to each trade in. Idk how much I ended up getting extra but is there some sort of special goin on? Example. Luigi's Mansion for $20 at GS but when I traded it in $27.50

Doesn't work on PS3 and 360 games then since I got no said bonus. Might just be Vita, 3DS, Xbox One, PS4 and Wii U.
