The vita feels more like the dreamcast to me.
Not really. The Dreamcast had mainstream support, and it actually sold very well early in its lifespan. The DC wouldn't have been discontinued if it wasn't for Sega's mistakes with Sega CD, 32X, and Saturn that put them out of buisness.

What mainstream support? Capcom was the only one that comes to mind, EA dropped their planned sports games and Sega had to create their own series. DC and Saturn survived basically on import releases only.

To be fair, Japanese games were much, much bigger back then than they are today. It wasn't really until the 7th generation that western games surpassed Japanese ones in terms of brand name value.

I just purchased a Vita 2000 for $130 with a 16gb card and the games: Jak and Daxter Collection, Sly Cooper Collection, Killzone Mercenary, and Borderlands 2.  I also have a copy of Persona 4 Golden on the way because I really liked four but hadn't actually gotten around to finishing it and wanted to play the best version.  Is that a good deal and are there any other games that are must haves to start out with?

Definitely a good deal. I paid more for less for mine.

I paid MORE for mine...OK I paid more for all three. The BL2 one I paid $145 with tax thanks to Target and an Amazon PM (got $15 back from trading the BL2 code). Paid $150 + tax for a white 1000. And finally $145 for the aqua blue import. Dat blue...I don't care how much it was, I LOVE that color.

Agreed, definitely a good deal. Especially if it's in like-new condition. I got a 2000 model (Borderlands Bundle) for like 141 new at target a few months back.

The only one you have a good chance of still finding in the store is Disgaea 4, the other 3 are pretty rare and go for well around triple the price used on eBay.

the new copys of super monkey balls for vita have been converted used at gamestop they are $4.99 now
Thanks for the tip! I searched it and only about 6 stores came up with results. Not thinking its rare (its only $13 on Amazon) I figured what the hell. I was able to get a gutted 'new' copy at a store not too far way away.

Also, I've been to 4 stores looking at Shinobido since its a launch title, and none of them have the actual cover art. I find that strange..it's keeping me from picking up a copy.

Shinobido 2 I found over the weekend. Didn't have a case but I can't complain. I also had a gamestop an hour from me ship Supremacy MMA to a local one (not sure if it has art). If you find it online, call your local gamestop and they can get it shipped to their store. I think MMA will be here today/tomorrow since I had them request it on Friday. Might try to find F1 and Super Monkey Ball.

Shinobido 2 is still available new at Best Buy for $29.99 ($23.99 GCU). Been waiting for it to go on sale and/or clearance since I got my Vita more than a year ago, but the price has never wavered to my knowledge.

Used copies are not available in my area. Does anyone who has this game think it's worth full price?

Lime Green > Aqua Blue

Putty Squad is $10 on amazon

Easy Plat and could be rare in the future?
Grabbed one for the heck of it, Thanks

Found a monkey ball new that hadn't been relabeled used yet. Guy rang it up and it was $4.49 after PUR. On an off note, I already have game storage but found these Mad Catz Armor Cases on clearance for .97 cents. Rang them up and they were a penny a piece!

Got one of those PS Vita cases for $0.01 and picked up MMA Supremacy as well (generic case unfortunately). Thanks for sharing the deals!

Nice price on the cases, i had bought 3 of them when they were $0.97, seems they are now out of system so they must be sending them back to HQ since they say only online or trashing them.  Will pass by my local GS to see if they have some left for a penny :)

Thanks fo rthe post, added Shinobido 2 to my Vita collection.  Had a $5 preowned credit to burn so $2 OOP for me.  The only copy left in a 100mile radius for me.  No case but she gave me a minecraft vita case instead.

The only place that has the MMA game is not super close, so I will buy it if I go over that mall in the next few weeks.

IDK why but that monkeyball game doesn't really interest me, yet the price temps me just because I can prob get one recently converted.

These cases are awesome (even though they can be a little hard to open).

I love the rubber inside. My games definitely feel extremely safe in these things and having them shaped like a vita is a cute little bonus!

Not a game, but I wanted to share something with my fellow Vita 2000 owners.

I wanted a dock like the OG Vita has, and didn't like the small one that Sony had put out. I bought this Motorola HD Dock and took the HDMI plug out for use with my 2014 Moto X, and found that it is an even better Vita dock than a phone dock. Taking out the male HDMI port is pretty easy, just takes a couple minutes after opening it up. No desoldering, just a couple of screws and unplugging a cable. The port(s) slide over and the back adjusts in and out with the knob.

This is it on Amazon and eBay.

Nice and sturdy, has some weight to it. Enjoy.

This is great. I'm considering buying one. Can I get a picture of what the rest of the dock looks like, the connectors and what you removed if possible? How does it connect to the vita?

The dock, new, has a standard microUSB and microHDMI port. There is a tutorial I followed for taking the HDMI port out, like I said it's super simple. That was a good nine months ago, so I'm currently searching for it.

You can hook any microUSB cord into the back of it, and it charges just fine.

Thanks, this was exactly what I was looking for. The pictures on amazon and ebay make the microUSB port look offset from the center. Snagged the last one on ebay.

I wonder if I can mod it with a Vita Charging Cable or Port :whistle2:k

The port assembly slides from dead center to all the way right. You unlock and lock it in place with the silver knob on top. I'm 99% positive I saw the instructions on XDA, but for the life of me I can't find them.

You carefully peel away the rubber feet on the bottom, then poke through the plastic covering to find screws (I think tiny Phillips) under each. I'll see if I can't find my screwdriver and take pics of the inside.
