This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

To answer seriously I don't have a curator group since I'm not big and important like Total Buzzkill.
I liked your first answer as well (the critic). Mooby, maybe it just me, but I have noticed a difference in the last while where your critiques and comments about games were more interesting for instance Invisible Inc. If you happen to write reviews, please post as others have. I think you might be pleasantly surprised that people are interested in your perspective.

Back after a long vacation.

I missed the first two days of the sale (except buying some cheap crap via my phone) and I can't be asked to read a thousand pages to catch up. I'll assume everyone hates the sale and the gimmick. I'll also assume that I bought all of the wrong crap and paid way too much for it.

Ok. Now I'm caught up. Carry on.

Incoming YouTube channel. I think you're on my Steam friends list. Sometimes I write reviews for games (think I have around 60ish). I tend not to do to much AAA stuff because my feeling on those is usually 'it is what it is.' Similar to my opinion on Watch_Don... Dogs. It's an Ubi game so it's going to be 'open roam' with tons of activities that can get tedious. Still, if you have fun causing chaos and whatnot it does the job assuming you pay a reasonable price.

YouTube channel would require me getting a mic... then having my ego crushed when my videos get 12 views and I have 3 subscribers.

I bet you have the voice of an angel.

I'm seriously straining to try to find something to buy, so I will stop trying so hard. My suspicion is I will buy little to nothing during the sale and fakeybro Lego Worlds at full price.

If for some reason you aren't on my friends list my profile is here: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198010864832/

I think this guy on YouTube shares most of the same sentiments on gaming as I do although he has a proclivity for shitty unfinished survival games (a genre which I think is ripe for bilking people out of money for permanent early access crap) and sometimes far too apologetic towards AAA games he personally likes.  That is to say, he'll rip one AAA game for a list of reasons (and deservedly so) but will turn around and ignore those flaws in AAA games he happens to like and conclude, oh yeah, it's worth it.  So in that sense he's inconsistent.

There's also the late antisocialfatman (unfortunate this kid died in his 20's or something) who did a great job on most of the games he reviewed especially his breakdown of Bioshock.

Note he died several years ago so that's obviously where his reviews stop.

The last time I heard my voice (outside of the echo chamber of my own head) was probably more than seven or so years ago when I played WoW and caught a bit of it on a Vent recording. A bit higher pitched and nasally than I would have thought. Maybe it's deepened in the interim. Or I could just put on one of those phony YouTube celeb voices and talk with exaggerated affectations.

Thanks, went ahead and bought TWaU, the story sounds real interesting. I'm not a big fan of zombie games in general, would TWD still be as enjoyable?
I think zombies are trite, overused, and unimaginative. However, I still thought TWD season 1 was a fantastic experience. I havent finished season 2 yet, but that's mostly because I've just not wanted to put forth the emotional investment required. TWAU is good, but not as good as TWD season 1.

I would say so. The games tend to be more about the people and not as much about the zombies. I'd give 1 a try and play a bit and if you like it then go ahead and get the DLC and two.

I doubt few people are generally "happy" with the way their voice sounds when they hear a recording. I remember The Simpson's making a joke about it with Marge's voice. You could always fake an accent and go all dewpeepee on us.

For anyone who bought the Massive Edition during a previous sale, The Fall of Tokyo bundle is a good way to catch up on the later episodes you're missing. Hoping to see this on a daily or flash sale.
I was just looking at this closer, but it doesn't seem to include Issue #8, just #9+. The Massive Edition included up to #7. I'm wondering if it would still end up being cheaper to get the Ultimate Edition (with a reasonable discount) vs getting Tokyo on Steam and #8 in-game (assuming that's is possible).

It's like buying a car bro, sometimes you just don't get the fucking leather seats because it's only offered on the lounge but they don't have lounges with sunroofs so you have to get the easy with all the damn bells and whistles and a sunroof but no leather seats and why the fuck does the beats by dre shitty sound not come in any of them except the fucking trekking.

In all fairness a lot of the complaining can get a tad excessive considering everybody knows exactly what the sale is going to be like and then complains anyway despite the fact that if you check your activity feed any given day it seems everybody is buying a crap ton of stuff.

also not sure what people expect when every store front, glitch, and bundle is stalked 24/7.

the biggest things that irritate me are the excessive featuring of early access games and the lack of good sales on older games I don't have (really i don't understand why quake, doom and hexen are always 50 percent off)
I don't mind if the complaining is hilarious, or hurts my whore feelings. Otherwise it's just redundant.

The one thing I'll say about Telltales 'not-games' is that they are, indeed, well written and tell entertaining stories.  But they don't even qualify as adventure games.  Each episode offers maybe one or two 'puzzles,' (and I'm using that term very loosely), half a dozen dialogue choices, and a few QTEs (mash X to do whatever).  Personally I think people are better off watching a Let's Play and spending their money elsewhere.

This is going to sound like the dumbest thing somebody could say about the Walking Dead, but it's really not about zombies. It's about what happens to people when the world falls apart. It's about the horrible things people are capable of doing to each other when society falls apart. (and yes it has zombies)

Imagine how many people would rape Mooby in a post-apocalyptic world? It's scary and sick and exciting.

Great, I'll definitely give the first game a try when there's a deeper discount.

Right. It's also what most of Stephen King's good novels are about: ordinary people exposed to horrific situations/weird events as opposed to the situations and events themselves. The monsters/bad guys/etc. tend to be the most poorly written parts of his books whereas the character interaction and how people tend to lose their shit and act abnormally are the best parts.

33% off Invisibruuuu Inc isn't bad, though.

Seriously, though... Orion Prelude from $0.75 to $0.50.  Just... why?
